Eminem: King of Kings.

(ThyBlackMan.com) In a previous article, I mis-spoke. I called Eminem an uncrowned king. I said this because of some misconstrued, prejudice that hides in a tiny crevice of my soul. I was doing to a white boy exactly what whites do to Black people. I was incorporating his skin color into my decision making process. And, that was dead wrong. Therefore, I reiterate and say that, Eminem is indeed a King in Hip-Hop, if not the King of Hip-Hop Kings.

I didn’t want to admit it, at least not on the record, but the investigation is certainly moving in that direction. As far as money, he is one the richest rappers with 160 million; plus, he was closely instrumental in building Hip hop’s richest, Dr. Dre. As for his hood qualities, I don’t think too many rappers emerged from trailer parks. At least in the projects, the water is free and we can flush until the cows come home.

Next is his lyrical content and social commentary. He elaborated on domestic violence with I Love The Way You Lie. He touched on the need and importance of perseverance in Lose Yourself. He spoke on stalkers and obsessive fans in Stan. Of family values in Mockingbird. And Hip-Hop racism in Yellow Brick Road.

Vetted? He killed Jay-Z on Renegade. He murdered Fifty-Cent oneminem-king-of-kings-hip-hop-royalty-detroit-mc-2015-goat Patiently Waiting. He slaughtered Drake, Kanye, and Lil’ Wayne, collectively, in Forever. He went neck to neck with Jadakiss on Welcome to D-Block. And he conspired with Fifty to lyrically wrap up JaRule’s career and put him out of business, at least the rapping part of the business.

It is said, a person’s character is revealed by the choices s/he makes under pressure. The rapper embodies a fatherless, impoverish, high school drop-out, pill popping junkie, women beating white boy trying to make it in a Black man’s world called Hip-Hop.

As far as keeping it 100 with the tens of millions of fans who bought his musical works, he more than gives back. He has the Eight Mile Boulevard Association; Marshall Matthews Foundation, ninemillion.org, and the Small Steps Project. In addition, he supports social causes such as At-risk/disadvantage youths, children, education, poverty, and refugees, to name just some.

Eminem knows he can’t ask for the crown. They’ll say whites are trying take over our music. He has to wait for Blacks to get tired of Blacks, and he’ll inherit the crown, by default, like Obama. That’s why superstar rappers justify their lyrical inadequacies by saying Hip-Hop is a Black thing and Eminem is overrated. That’s bullshit, truth of the matter is the WHITE HOUSE was a white thing until a Black man took office. Baseball was a White thing until Jackie Robinson slid through.

Let’s be fair. We give him the undisputed crown for a month. Yea! A month. February!

That being said, he is also the most selling rap artist, bar none.
