(ThyBlackMan.com) It is no secret that every since President Obama got in office the first time, the Republican agenda was not to work for the American people as they were elected to do. I am not a democrat, I am an African-American fiscal and social conservative, but the truth is obvious. The republican agenda was, is and always has been to defame, degrade and derail President Obama in every way they can. But they cannot seem to understand that of you weaken one branch of government, you weaken the government as a whole. Critical analysis of President Obama’s economic policies, foreign policies, domestic policies, executive orders and administrative agenda are fair game, but the republican agenda has gone south of that and right into the gutter.

And now, just when you thought they could not go any lower, they have sunken to an all time low. Their objective to discredit President Obama and regain the White House has blinded them, causing these senators to ignore their oaths of office and why the American people sent them to Washington. They are traitors to their office and the American people. Who is writing the republican play book? And maybe it should not be written in crayon.

According to Merriam-Webster (online) a Traitor is defined as “a person who is not loyal to his or her own country, friends etc.”.

It is no secret that President Obama has not just reached across the partisan aisle, but also reached across the sea to those many in this country call our enemy – the government of Iran. The issue has been how to stop Iran from building a nuclear weapon and sanctions have not been effective. President Obama is working on a diplomatic solution by attempting to negotiate an agreement with Iran because he understands that this country cannot continue to be a bully. But while he is negotiating on the front end, 47 traitorous United States Senators are working on the back end to ruin the negotiations.

An unethical, traitorous letter was sent by 47 U.S. Senators to the religious leader of Iran. Because Iran is run by its religion, the top religious leader in that country has more power and influence than the political leaders. The letter discouraged the Iranian government from working with the President of the United States to reach an agreement. It further went on to say President Obama would not keep the agreement.

According to Wikipedia, “The Supreme Leader of Iran …..is the head of state and highest ranking political and religious authority in the Islamic Republic of Iran. …..The leader is more powerful than the President of Iran and appoints the heads of many powerful posts in the military, the civil government, and the judiciary. See more about Iran’s leader below.

Here are the names of the 47 senate traitors according to the Washington Post:

The letter, spearheaded by Sen. Tom Cotton, was signed by 47 Republican senators. Seven GOP senators did not sign. Here’s who signed:

Signatories:
Richard Shelby (Ala.), Jeff Sessions (Ala.), Dan Sullivan (Alaska), John McCain (Ariz.), John Boozman (Ark.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), Cory Gardner (Colo.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Johnny Isakson (Ga.), David Perdue (Ga.), Mike Crapo (Idaho), Jim Risch (Idaho), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Chuck Grassley (Iowa), Joni Ernst (Iowa), Pat Roberts (Kansas), Jerry Moran (Kansas), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Rand Paul (Ky.), David Vitter (La.), Bill Cassidy (La.), Roger Wicker (Miss.)
Roy Blunt (Mo.), Steve Daines (Mont.), Deb Fischer (Neb.), Ben Sasse (Neb.), Dean Heller (Nev.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Thom Tillis (N.C.), John Hoeven (N.D.),
Rob Portman (Ohio), Jim Inhofe (Okla.), James Lankford (Okla.), Pat Toomey (Pa.)
Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Tim Scott (S.C.), John Thune (S.D.), Mike Rounds (S.D.)
John Cornyn (Texas), Ted Cruz (Texas), Orin Hatch (Utah), Mike Lee (Utah)
Shelley Moore Capito (W.V.), Ron Johnson (Wis.), Mike Enzi (Wyo.), John Barrasso (Wyo.)

What are the 47 Senators afraid of? Are they afraid that President Obama will enter into a poor, ineffective agreement? Really? But there is no agreement as such now and any new agreement is a start. Are they afraid the agreement President Obama proposes will make it easier for Iran to build a nuclear weapon? Really, when Israel will never allow that to happen anyway? The President is not stupid and he has stated if the agreement goes nowhere productive, he will walk away from the table. So what is it the republican treasonous traitors fear? It is not that the agreement will fail – it is a fear that the agreement will work. Let’s be honest here without the partisan games and immaturity.

Any and every successful agreement President Obama creates or negotiates will push the republicans one step further away from regaining the White House in the next election. Therefore they have a vested interest in seeing him fail – whether it is with Iran or with Obamacare. If you look at the big picture, you see why the senators sent the letter. But right is right and wrong is wrong – regardless of political party affiliation.

The 47 Traitors offer no better solutions – just unethical and traitorous actions, bullying, backstabbing and negative criticism. The republican approach of slamming and defaming the President of the United States did not win them the presidency in the last election. And these recent actions are going to draw the contempt of the American people onto the republican party, which brings me to my next point.

The 47 traitors just made it harder for the republican party and for those of them who are considering a run for the presidency in the upcoming election. The letter did not come from our Congress, it came from a group of renegade senators with another agenda. Now republicans who did not sign the poison letter are shaking their heads. The American public can sense US-SENATE-2015obvious disrespect and unethical practices by the Senators they sent to Washington.

The 47 Senate Traitor’s plan backfired. It embarrassed them and the republican party. It embarrassed the United States. Do you know how it looks to another country when senators who call Iran an enemy turn around and send them a letter that degrades the leader of the free world? It looks disrespectful, it looks desperate. it looks like they are afraid of something. Their actions are making Iran want to work with President Obama even more. The traitorous actions of these senators is causing Iran to see what President Obama is up against in this country and to be empathetic towards him. Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has commented on this as well, which further proves my point,

The 47 traitors should face criminal charges. At the very least, what they have done should be an ethics violation. In the middle it should be seen as criminal and on the other end they are just short of the aid and comfort to those they call enemies of this country and Israel. If the actions of these senators derails negotiations to the point of helping Iran, the senators border on treason. Look up the Logan Act. The United States Department of Justice should file criminal charges against all 47 senators. If that does not happen, traitorous and backstabbing acts like this will continue to happen.

In a Washington Post poll, 92 of Americans said the senators went too far. http://www.washingtonpost.com/pb/by-sending-a-letter-to-iran-did-republican-senators-go-too-far/ea237467-d267-4c3a-a39c-eac04d5c1d6e_poll.html

Republicans should not ignore the irresponsibility of these 47 traitors. If democratic senators had sent a letter to Iran while a republican president was in office, republicans would be screaming treason, and traitor, calling the perpetrators unpatriotic, backstabbing and worse. And I would agree in that case as well. So republicans need to stop deflecting and start regulating your own before you lose yet another presidential election. Republicans should not be mentioning what democrats did in the past because finger pointing in such case is simply a denial of responsibility and accountability.

ACCORDING TO THE WASHINGTON EXAMINERS, “235,000 AMERICANS SIGNED A PETITION CALLING FOR TREASON CHARGES FOR 47 GOP SENATORS” http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/235000-americans-sign-petition-calling-for-treason-charges-for-47-gop-senators/article/2561438

Here is the petition that was filed.

File charges against the 47 U.S.

Senators in violation of The Logan Act in attempting to undermine a nuclear agreement.

On March 9th, 2015, forty-seven United States Senators committed a treasonous offense when they decided to violate the Logan Act, a 1799 law which forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years. At a time when the United States government is attempting to reach a potential nuclear agreement with the Iranian government, 47 Senators saw fit to instead issue a condescending letter to the Iranian government stating that any agreement brokered by our President would not be upheld once the president leaves office. This is a clear violation of federal law. In attempting to undermine our own nation, these 47 senators have committed treason.

The Legal Definition of Treason

18 U.S. Code § 2381 – Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

If there are not laws or legislation that bars members of government from interfering with current sensitive international negotiations, there should be – and this case is the perfect opportunity and reason to create such legislation.

You don’t have to agree with everything President Obama does but respect the office that he holds. The American people elected him not once but twice and he is the recognized President of the United States. Give him the opportunity to try and make something work, especially if you do not have a better way, plan or solution. Nobody, democrat or republican, should have the right nor the authority to deliberately undermine the President of the United States in an international nuclear agreement by contacting the other party in negotiations.

THIS LETTER IS BEING SENT TO PRESIDENT OBAMA HIMSELF. What you can do is to send it to your U.S. Senator and Congressman, whether he or she is a democrat or republican. Partisan games are blocking our government from getting the real work done and causing our elected officials to forget why they were elected in the first place. Any President can be corrected, but that should be done within the confines of our country and the structure of our internal government – not with the leaders of another country. And the people we elect should know that. So I say to all republicans, just as you are so quick and willing to correct the President of the United States – be just as quick to correct your own.
