(ThyBlackMan.com) British singer Adele has made quite an impact on the U.S. music scene as well. This is evident in the fact that she recently made history with “21” her new album, which has stayed in the Billboard Top 200 for an incredible four years as of March 2015.
The Billboard Top 200 tracks the albums that have sold the most copies. Collectively her new album has been on the charts for a consecutive 208 weeks and in that time there were only 24 weeks where “21” was not in the top 100 best -selling albums. Three of the singles on this album shot to number one on the charts, which is part of what has made the album such a huge commercial success.
Adele is no stranger to success as in 2013 she gave the first ever live performance of her song Skyfall during that year’s Academy Awards show. The singer went home with the award for Best Original Song. Adele accepted the award for the song along with Paul Epworth, who helped her write it. In addition to an Academy Award Adele also won an award for Skyfall at that year’s BRIT Awards for Best British Single.
So far in 2015 Adele has been quiet and has not yet announced plans for a new album at this time. Based on the success of “21” as well as her first album’s success, it remains to be seen whether or not Adele will even release another one.
