(ThyBlackMan.com) Increasingly, I am hearing the following mantra/narrative from Black Christians. “I’m voting for Obama because he is the lesser of the two evils.” This is an extremely weak veiled attempt to justify their racism and loyalty to The Black Code (never side with a white against a fellow black).
From a Christian point of view, how can any Bible believer conclude that Mitt Romney is more evil than Barack Obama?
Here are a few of the numerous things on Obama’s anti-Christian agenda. Obama supports same-sex marriage and has vowed to be an advocate for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities. Obama supports abortion including infanticide (making it illegal to provide medical aid to a baby that has survived a failed abortion). Despite their strong will to survive, these babies must be left to die.
Massive governmental controls hidden in Obamacare include forcing Christian institutions to fund abortion services against the teachings of their
Indisputable facts are available everywhere exposing Obama to be the most anti-Christian president in U.S. History. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/barton-calls-obama-americas-most-biblically-hostile-u-s-president/ I know some of you Black Christians will continue to stick your heads in the sand, refusing to accept the truth. Woe be unto you. Racism is evil, whether it comes from whites or blacks blindly worshiping Obama because of his skin-color.
So Black Christians, tell me Romney’s stated ant-Christian agenda. Grasping at straws, some will say Romney is a Mormon and Mormonism does not jive with Christianity. Well, you may have a point. However, Romney has not attacked Christianity or pledged to force Christians to betray their faith. Obama is boldly and dictatorially implementing his anti-Christian agenda. Regrettably, many of you black so-called followers of Christ realize who Obama really is and what he is doing. And yet, you will vote for him anyway because of your sick addiction to racial politics.
I have also heard Christians say, “OK, I admit that Obama is destroying America, but I cannot vote for a Mormon.” Such thinking is illogical. Imagine, your home is on fire and your family is trapped inside. The Hells Angels motorcycle gang arrives at the scene offering to go inside to rescue your loved ones. How absurd would it be to reject their “God-sent” help because you disapprove of the Hells Angels’ lifestyle?
Remember this old joke? A guy was trapped on his roof during a flood. He prayed for help. Various volunteers came to his aid in boats. The man rejected them all, waiting for God to save him. The foolish man drowned. In Heaven, the man asked God why he did not answer his prayer. God replied, “I did answer your prayer. You rejected everyone I sent.”
America is on fire folks. Romney/Ryan are the most available firefighters. Thus, I believe they are “God-sent.”
I asked a black minister friend to further explain this “lesser evil” thing. He said the “lesser evil” in his mind is the economy. While not disputing Obama’s anti-Christian agenda, Obama still wins his vote because he believes Romney/Ryan’s plan will further the decline of America’s economy. In essence, this black minister of the Gospel is saying he values the economy over God’s condemnation of homosexuality, over the lives of babies and over freedom of worship.
And by the way, this minister thinking that Obama’s economic plan of spending our way to prosperity is superior to Romney/Ryan’s plan is idiotic, nonsensical and absurd. I can not believe my friend is that stupid. I believe sighting the economy as his reason for voting for Obama is a weak excuse to mask his racism; pure and simple.
To all you, Obama-is-the-lesser-of-two-evils black Christian voters, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You “ain’t” foolin’ nobody. You are racists! May God have mercy on your souls.

I’m not a Christian, but I do believe in Christian values and anything else that is good. But to vote for someone based only on your religious beliefs is a remedy for failure. This is why white southern Christians get screwed by the republicans, every time they vote based on their religious beliefs. Most Blacks are conservative but we know that republicans will do nothing for our cause but tell us to pull ourselves up from our bootstraps when we don’t even have boots. It seems this article is another example to keep us divided at the least and an attempt to get more Romney votes at the worst. But I do believe we’re much more smarter than that.
Black Unity means financial independence and happiness
Mack -- right on. That's what my father says, more or less -- "No matter who wins, they can't hurt me. I'mma pray for all of them: 'Lord, make 'em behave themselves.' " It does come down to doing what God said: respect and pray for all rulers so that we may live a quiet and peaceful life, and have the freedom to practice and share our faith. From that perspective, the outcome of this particular election will not change anything.
Lloyd -- perhaps you are forgetting one thing about Black people that do not want to vote for Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon. When Governor Romney was young, the Mormon church taught that Black people were basically the spawn of the devil, beyond salvation, and beyond consideration as human beings with full rights. Perhaps he has rejected those views, as Mormonism officially has now. But it would certainly make those Black people who remember that little piece of information about the Mormons feel a whole lot better if he would say aloud that he no longer believes what he was taught in his youth. But instead, all we know is his comments about the 47 percent that are beyond his attention, a chilling parallel to what his church said about Black people for about one hundred years. If you have information that shows that Mitt Romney has repudiated that aspect of Mormon doctrine, please post it. I, like many other swing voters, still have to prayerfully figure out what I'm going to do, and I am willing to consider that evidence if you have it.
I'm voting for President Obama because he's Black! Just like Al Sharpton and all the other Black people that have lived in this country through segregation and have studied the history of this country. If Whites can vote for a White man than please allow me to vote for a Black man. Don't bring your bible verses into this election. Religion and democracy don't go together. This is not a theology, this is a democracy, the worship of jackal by jackasses.
My difficulty is that my Bible says "Abstain from the appearance of evil," so that makes voting for the lesser of two evils a real problem. I'm really stuck. President Obama's record is indeed stained with some stuff a man who professes Christ cannot be excused for, as he is as yet unrepentant. On the other hand, Governor Romney's record suggests to me that he and his bigger backers are unconcerned about anyone who is either not pumping money into some corporate structure or sitting atop one-- and I have spent my life serving those he just lumps into the 47 percent that he clearly said he isn't concerned with, those who need public education and big-time help with the costs of healthcare. There are a lot of things God condemns along with homosexuality; do a count on the number of times greed and "grinding the faces of the poor" are condemned (hint: check Proverbs and all the prophets, and then check the book of James for starters). So to me, the president and his challenger both present a quandary!
Maybe some of you 'christians' need to be reminded: King Nebuchadnezzar was NOT a Christian. He was considered a pagan king. Yet God strategically placed Daniel at his side. The same happened in Joseph's day under the Pharoah of Egypt in the book of Genesis. The point is: the ruler of the land does not have to be a so-called Christian. God can and will run the country, often by placing key people in key advisory positions to the head leader in charge.
Frankly I could care less if the president was a christian or not. He's just a puppet ruler anyway. By now we all should know that the real rulers of America never campaign for votes or go on TV. Even the ones who claim to be Christians are usually just fronting to get the gullible Christian vote. How about we do what scripture tells us to do, and PRAY for those who are in positions of power over the land, so that their hearts will be putty in God's hand? That sounds to me like a better 'Christian' strategy than conducting political witch hunts.
Lloyd, this was spot on. Finally someone speaking up and speaking the truth. There are many of us black Christians who do not support President Obama, because of the reasons that you stated above. I wish so more black people would stand for the truth. Good job my brother.
Firefighters?? God Sent?? This diatribe is awful. I'm not an Obama nor Romney supporter, but the defense was not such at all. Check Paul Ryan lambasting the stimulus while he requested stimulus dollars on four occasions (as discovered via the Freedom of Information Act).
God sends liars?? It's clear, he's one.
The gay issue was a trap by the mainstream to divide the Black vote! As long as we won’t have our vision for the well-being of our community and we will let others dictate their agendas, we won’t progress and won’t be respected! They know that we like to defend everybody else before our own!!!

I'm sure Lloyd is a great tap dancer!!
