(ThyBlackMan.com) Ron Paul will win the Iowa Caucus whether he actually comes out on top or not. A win for him simply means a solid showing, which he’ll make. He’ll accomplish that feat because he has a legion of young, and not so young, fanatical true-believer devotees that have anointed him as the political second coming of St. Paul and Mother Teresa. They do three things that are absolutely indispensable to a successful campaign: organize, organize, organize.
They do it with zest because they buy hard into his off-beat views, from slashing government down to virtually nothing; to his controversial off beat quips on race matters. During the 2008 presidential campaign, they rabidly defended Ron Paul against all comers even after he was unceremoniously dumped from the ballots. This created a huge problem not for the Democrats but for the GOP. The millions that went into a swoon over Ron Paul were in no mood to mob the polls to vote for another placid, corporate, Beltway insider GOP presidential candidate. John McCain was that candidate.
The absence of Ron Paul on any ballot meant an absence of thousands of voters who in any other season might have cast a vote for the GOP. GOP mainstream leaders thought then that they had seen the last of the aged party gadfly and his fanatical hordes. They assured that his extreme choke-the-eyes-out-of-government-view would not cloud the GOP’s tunnel vision drive to make President Obama a one-term president in 2012. They were dead wrong. Paul not only refused to go quietly into the night but has emerged scarier than ever in 2012.
Ron Paul’s fanatical backers have been enthralled from the moment that Paul got a national platform to yap about the issues. He is their lone Jeremiah crying in the wilderness against big government, big taxes, big corporate domination, big socialized medicine, big wars; and demanding a return to unfettered liberty and freedom (conservative interpretation of it, that is). But that’s not the only thing they like about Ron Paul. He fanned anti-immigrant flames. In a 30 second TV spot that ran in New Hampshire during the 2008 campaign, he demanded that students from alleged terrorist countries be denied visas into the U.S. Paul offered no proof that there are hordes of students pouring into America to commit terrorist acts. The ad was more than just a cheap ploy to fan terrorism fears. This reinforced the worst in racial and religious stereotyping and negative typecasting. The stereotype is that anyone in America who is a Muslim with a non-white face is a terrorist.
Ron Paul topped that with the infamous slavery quip that he made on Meet the Press during the campaign. He claimed the Civil War was an unnecessary bloodbath that could and should have been avoided. All Lincoln had to do was buy the slaves. Other slave promoting countries, asserts Ron Paul, didn’t fight wars and they ended slavery peacefully. Ron Paul’s historical dumbness could and should have been laughed off. It wasn’t. It was intently debated, and defended. The scarier point was that it was taken seriously at all.
Ron Paul’s intrepid band of true believers was unfazed by the controversy; they reveled in it. Ron Paul gave them plenty more ammunition. He asserted that blacks are criminally inclined, political dumb bells, and chronic welfare deadbeats. There was also the alleged Ron Paul hobnob with a noted white supremacist. Here’s what Ron Paul on his campaign website ronpaul2008.com had to say about race. In fact, he even highlighted this as “Issue: Racism” on the site. “Government as an institution is particularly ill-suited to combat bigotry.” In other words, the 1954 landmark Supreme Court’s Brown vs. Board of education school desegregation decision, the 1964 and 1968 Civil Rights Acts, the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and legions of court decisions and state laws that bar discrimination are worthless. Worse, says Ron Paul, they actually promote bigotry by dividing Americans into race and class.
Paul’s views are an arcane blend of libertarianism, know-nothing Americanism, and ultra conservative laissez-faire limited government. In the four years since Ron Paul rammed himself on the national scene as a name, he has gripped the imagination of millions of Americans who believe that Congress and the GOP and the Democrats are hopelessly insular, corrupt, inept, and that they are rushing headlong to spend the nation into free fall debt. This, they say will ultimately reduce the country to backwash penury nation status.
Ron Paul made sure that he would stay within reach of grabbing the GOP presidential contender brass ring in Iowa by never wavering from his stock call in the debates for a debt free, bare bones government, and a neo-isolationist foreign policy. This has been a surefire formula to stir the juices of the frustrated, angry, and naive flock. This is the nightmare Ron Paul adroitly poses for the GOP and the nation in Iowa and beyond.

And to fair, young and old black voters thought Obama was the second coming of MLK JR., Abraham Lincoln and John Kennedy. His election actually turned out to be a third term for George W. Bush in attacking our civil liberties and prosecuting a War on Terror and War On Drugs that are actually wars against people of color.
Black people are not as dumb and stupid as some Black writers for Obama think they are. We know what political policies are destroying the Black Family Unit ,the Drug War!
Ron Paul is the one man wit the balls to stand against the hateful terrorist state that is ISRAEL , our number one enemy in the middle east , zionism fails , Ron Paul 2012 last chance this nation has point blank
one out of nine black males in this country ,ages 20-34 are locked up in jail this does not count those on parole who are still under the rein of the justice system. A great majority of these young men are there becacause of drug convictions. Who is speaking out against the racist war on drugs? Who wants to end it? we have a choice this time

This may be exactly what Gingrich and his supporters want.”

What happened here? I am reading scum on a website I thought made piratical and logical opinions. This isn’t opinion it is a hit piece. It is a lie. All this scum has already been regurgitated many times and found not to be true. Who is paying who here? Where has honesty gone? Ron Paul has been working his way to the top of the polls since this nominating procedure started, all this BS came out the last time he ran, to no avail. You have just galvanized my position. I am very disappointed with what was written here.
But he is right about ending slavery… Other nations managed to do it without a civil war .. And if the author of this article actually knew history like Ron Paul does he would know that the Civil War was fought mainly over States rights . Slavery was just a side issue.
Dr Ron Paul is a racist because he believes in civil rights, civil liberties and individual rights. Dr Ron Paul is a racist because he refuses to bomb brown people in Africa and the Middle East. Dr Ron Paul is a racist because he made an exception to his strong adherence to the constitution, and voted for Martin Luther King holiday. God Protect and Bless the greatest statesman the USA has ever seen.

Dr. Watkins:
What’s wrong with Paul following the constitution? Could you show me where in the constitution is he wrong? People who believe that they can do better by not following the law are very dangerous.
As long as black people want to ride a white man’s bus by forcing the government to open it for him racism will not die. If your fellow human being can’t stomach your skin color leave him alone in his stupidity. Why should we waste scarce government resources to even bother about a totally basket case.
Just two days after dr Ron Paul took the first place in Iowa caucuses polls, establishment’s MSM heavy artillery start pounding on him!

FREEDOM!
Paul says he will cut all foreign aid and treat every country equally. This includes Israel, our longest and most stable ally in the middle East. He can not may a statement like that and expect to win the Republic nomination.
Most interesting opinion. As a liberty minded Native American I find your participation in the fore told smear campaign humors to say the least. I cannot be upset by your writing for three reasons:
1. Dr. Paul and I would say most of his supporters (if not all of them) already know how this game works very well. It is the trusted method of the subhuman left (socialists or Fascist) method of attack when you have nothing to use against a citizen who speaks the truth is to first ignore then, if that does not work smear them with lies, and lastly if that does not work use force to scare or murder them. We knew this was coming and we are prepared to defend our candidate for President of the Republic. which is defending our constitution and our freedom.
2. While the apparent limited knowledge and comprehension of the facts cqn be excused if you were in a common illiterate because an illiterate person can not read, so naturally they have a limited ability to understand things like facts, truth and reality. Yet a human who is literate should be more careful unless they are also a raving lunatic and are not taking their medication.
3. Lastly as the insanity defense is unlikely to provide reasonable defense to what could be conceived as a criminal and damaging act of willful conduct if a case was made for damages caused by blatantly obvious lies used for gain or to cause harm. if that case was made it could proven it would be very profitable to legions of Americans giving them the ability to sue the crap out of a lot of organizations, and big corporations because as donors they have legal standing.
While the Peoples freedom of exercising their right of abstract opinion of speech is rightfully protected by both the First and Ninth Amendments that prohibits Governments limiting or writing laws to prohibit but does not extend to protect the to willful use of such lies to damage personal property or defame character as under Common law it is a crime and has a long standing ability to recover damages to the damaged parties.
Tread carefully my friend as you are walking on thin ice as you have no defense unless you can prove you are off your medication as I believe you truly are.
In fact I don’t even think I’ve said enough for an appropriate goodbye. Let me explain with a little more detail.
Paul is right, but not in accordance with this/your/whoever’s article. The civil war was a despicable blood-bath, but it never meant to free any slave: it meant to oppress the South, which I know whoever wrote this article knows full well due to their likely cold hatred for racism. I don’t blame you for hating racism, I do too, but don’t aim your hatred carelessly. If I aimed mine carelessly, my hatred for racism — i’d hate the name of this website.
So being that you know the intent of the civil war… yet you clearly misconstrued it as Paul racism, shows your heart. It shows your bias. It shows your rude resolve.
I disapprove. I am leaving.
Great vocabulary! I have nothing else good to say about this article, except it stands on a website I once had respect for. I am sorry, ThyBlackMan, but I really don’t find this article to be appropriate in its judgment of Paul.
Whoever wrote this article — if not a group of people — has harsh views about the world and undeniable woes about racism, topped with an unexplained disdain for Paul. The evidence is in your cold descriptions.
Paul 2012. I am sorry to leave frowning.
First they ignore you
then they laugh at you
then they fight you
then you win…
Bring it on, I say. Try and fight truth with propaganda and, distortion and lies. You will always lose because we have the TRUTH on our side.
Ron Paul REVOLUTION 2012! Let’s tear down the walls to the Empire of Lies with truth and FREEDOM!
Ohhhh… so this is what following the Constitution has become? Alot of drama in this article over such a simple concept.
John Morris,
You hit the nail right on the head! Thank you!
One of the most biased nonsense on Ron Paul I’ve read thus far. No proof of any accusations of course. FAIL.
What a poorly researched and completely biased article. I can’t believe I wasted 5 minutes reading this dreck. Who’s paying you Earl? Newt Gingrich? Ron Paul is the most principled candidate America has seen in years. You are dangerously flirting with a defamation lawsuit here, what with your false assertions – and I hope you get served. “Journalists” like you give the profession a bad name.
I wonder if these people attacking Ron Paul realize that their attacks only galvanize his supporters and strengthen the movement.
Here’s how it works…
As the saying goes, “There is only one thing worse than being talked about and that is NOT being talked about.”
And, while the negative articles may, at first blush, seem damaging to Paul… they are indeed publicity. And, people read them.
Inevitably, voters who are interested in the process and sincere in looking for a candidate they can support will read them.
What those readers will immediately notice is the disparity between the article and its comments. You can’t help but notice on EVERY negative article about Ron Paul the overwhelming number of comments attacking the author, defending Paul, and refuting the content of the article.
And, that’s the hook. Its enough cognitive dissonance to compel serious, interested voters to research and find out the facts for themselves.
As they do, they begin to realize that Paul’s positions aren’t based on whim or political convenience. They are well thought-out… and while you might disagree, you appreciate the thought.
You also immediately recognize the consistency and the willingness to speak truths that aren’t always popular.
You begin to respect (not necessarily like) Paul and think, “Maybe I could vote for this guy… AT LEAST he’s honest!”
And, then it happens…
Inevitably, an anti-Paul commenter will use the terms Ron Paul supporters know all too well: “Paulbot” and “Paultard”.
And, you think to yourself…
“Wait a second. I wasn’t a “fanatical” Ron Paul supporter. I didn’t know or like him a few weeks ago. Not only that, I’ve watched many of his interviews and speeches. I’ve read hundreds of articles on him and others. I’ve watched most of the debates. I’ve looked at his voting record (and that of some of his opponents).
I’ve researched him thoroughly like I think a good voter should. And, I like his ideas.
Does that make me a fanatic?
It seems to me that you just don’t like his ideas… which is fine, but instead of saying that you try to label me as a loon.
You rarely address any of your problems with his issues directly and when you do, you seem to be regurgitating talking points from Hannity, Limbaugh and others.”
…
And, suddenly your support for Ron Paul is galvanized. And, as you see the media bias and blatant attacks, you begin to sense an injustice being perpetrated. You feel the need to correct it.
And, you go from passive observer to active supporter… contributing money, commenting on articles, posting information for family and friends, and so on.
And, the momentum grows…
So, from all us Ron Paul supporters… THANK YOU for this hit piece. It only serves to further the cause we support while simultaneously undermining your credibility…
Now, what’s that other saying again?
Oh yeah… Two birds. One stone.
Wow,
Even once great website for sound writings corrupts, absolutely…
May your soul rest in Peace…

The concept of “race” is a collectivist idea. Any true classic libertarian,
such as Ron Paul, can not be a racist because acceptance and adherence to that
philosophy demands you take all people one at a time as individuals –
evaluating each separately on the content of their character and not in the
“collective” sense of being categorized by the color of their skin; firmly
believing that each person is born with the inalienable rights to: their life;
their liberty and their pursuit of happiness as members of a human race!
Every election the establishment tries to smear Ron Paul with these old trumpedup charges of racism. Now the establishment has their back on the ropes and is trying once again – but it won’t work – it never does!
So, here right on cue – the smear begins once again! Stories will begin to
surface of the past newsletters and James Kirchick palette of smear pigments from a 2008 “attempt to smear” article from TNR or “The New Republic” which
desperately attempted to convince the reader that Ron Paul was both anti-
Semitic bigot and racist. They failed as usual. The 2008 mainstream media threw it around for a week or so – you know how they do it – Wolf Blitzer and the whole package. Once they saw there was no sound basis for the allegations they dropped the story.
In the 2008 election cycle, after the TNR article, radio talk show host Alex
Jones of “infowarsDOTcom” interviewed then presiding President of the NAACP in Austin Texas, Nelson Linder asking questions regarding Ron Paul and allegations of racism. Mr. Linder ,not speaking for NAACP, but only for himself, came to Ron Paul’s defense saying:
“Knowing Ron Paul’s intent, I think he is trying to improve this country
but I think also, when you talk about the Constitution and you constantly
criticize the federal government versus state I think a lot of folks are going
to misconstrue that….so I think it’s very easy for folks who want to take his position out of context and that’s what I’m hearing.”
Linder continued:
“Knowing Ron Paul and having talked to him, I think he’s a very fair guy I just think that a lot of folks do not understand the Libertarian platform, – I’ve read Ron Paul’s whole philosophy, I also understand what he’s saying from a political standpoint and why people are attacking him, – If you scare the folks that have the money, they’re going to attack you and they’re going to take it out of context,…What he’s saying is really threatening the powers that be and that’s what they fear,”
When Jones asked directly if Ron Paul was a racist, Linder responded “No I
don’t,” He added that he had heard Ron Paul speak out about police
repression of black communities and mandatory minimum sentences on many
occasions.
The author of the 2008 TNR attempted smear article, James Kirchick is an overt globalist progressive with an agenda! The New Republic attempts to be a mouth piece for the dying neo-progressive agenda; being driven primarily by what appears to be a desire for a globalist world dominated by international
banking and the military industrial complex. This predisposition for
elitism and predilection for global governance by an oligarchy of international banking power elites is the philosophy I might add, that has currently brought America to the brink of destruction! They play the phony “two party paradigm” relentlessly. This is the illusion of two different political parties counter balancing one another – please don’t say you can’t remember recently this spring when republican Senator McCain and democrat Senator Kerry went arm in arm bellowing for illegal war with Libya? Do you not find it is strange that Obama never changed Bush/Cheney policies regarding: torture; bailouts; WARS; Patriot Act and lost of civil liberties and abuse of American citizenry. Exactly – both parties want huge intrusive central authority – its just one side prefers to balloon the size of government with aggressive warfare and less social welfare and vice-versa.
If memory serves, much of the so-called ‘sources” for this bogus Kirchick
2008 TNR smear article came primarily from the SPLC or Southern Poverty Law
Center, founded by none other than, Morris Dees. This dubious organization has
been exposed numerous times as nothing more than a rip-off institution
specializing in appealing to well minded liberal leaning citizens for their money – requesting donations for various causes to right injustices for minorities. The problem is that very little of the funding generated ever goes to help the actual persons in need. The American Institute of Philanthropy has repeatedly given SPLC an ‘F’ rating for nearly a decade. Morris Dees former business partner Millard Fuller said this:
“Morris Dees and I, from the first day of our partnership, shared one
overriding purpose: to make a pile of money. We were not particular about how
we did it; we just wanted to be independently rich. During the eight years we
worked together we never wavered in that resolve.”
Millard Fuller ceased partnership with Morris Dees and in 1968 sold ALL his assets giving his millions to charity! He moved to Africa to do Christian service work and died in 2009. Morris Dees on the other hand continued to expand his financial empire and founding the SPLC in 1971. In 2000, Ken Silverstein wrote a hard hitting piece on the corruption within SPLC in Harper’s Magazine titled “The Church of Morris Dees” .
The 2008 SPLC, IRS form 990 “Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax” is available on the internet at “thelaymanscornerDOTcom. Check out on line 22 – the “Net assets of funds balances” for $199,951,946. 00. Also line 15, salaries paid to SPLC members and employees totaling $12,311,645.00!
Also, check out Morris Dees’ posh home at “montgomeryadvertiserDOTcom” and see where the money sent to SPLC actually goes!
Don’t take my word for it – please do your own research and I’m certain that after a review of the damning information regarding SPLC available on the internet… if you ever gave any of your hard earned money to the SPLC – you will at the least, seriously reconsider doing so in the future! They are a crooked organization from top to bottom!
Another fatal flaw of TNR / Kirchick when making allegations for an “anti-Semitic” Ron Paul is that Paul’s economic policy is shaped almost exclusively from the “Austrian School” and the persons aligned with the philosophies of the Ludwig von Mises, a Jewish intellectual. Von Mises embodied classical liberalism and is regarded as a founding leader in the Austrian School of economics. The Ludwig von Mises Institute was founded primarily by Jewish intellectuals of like persuasions.
So, ask yourself – Ron Paul’s life long world view is classical libertarianism – he lives and breathes Austrian economics are these the signature patterns of a bigoted anti–Semite and racist?
I don’t think so!!
WE WON’T GET FOOLED AGAIN!
Ron Paul 2012!!
The fact that you hide behind “Staff” as being the Author of this article not to mention provide little facts to back up this article tells me all I need to know. You clearly know nothing about Ron Paul. Its okay. . .you are afraid of liberty. . .I get it. Ron Paul is proposing true freedom. No government intervention in your private life, but also little to no federal government safety nets. No more pointless wars, personal responsibilities, etc. Its allot to take in. You enjoy the status quo. Thats cool. But as a black man let me tell you the status quo has failed. There is a revolution going on in this country. We will no longer be voting for someone simply because its what other black people are doing. Nice try though. . . .RON PAUL 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You really need to do some research before writing on a candidate instead of buying into stereotypes and the BS the media tells you. Do some research before you post biased articles. You should research what libertarianism actually is and you’d find Ron Paul is a true libertarian, that means someone who believes in every person’s right to individual liberty (do what you want with your body, believe what you want, etc.) and not an “arcane blend of libertarianism. As for his “know-nothing Americanism”, that part makes is laughable as any research on Paul’s views along with a quick read of the US Constitution, demonstrate that this statement is entirely false and Dr. Paul knows more about the Constitution and Americanism than you ever will. Finally, ad “ultra conservative laissez-faire limited government” puts the cherry on top of your extremely biased and poorly researched article as it demonstrates your lack of what Paul’s views are and what limited government entails (it is a limited federal government, with a strong state government and not the semi-anarchistic state you describe in your article.
And to add to that I am an immigrant and the child of immigrants and none of Ron Paul’s views are in any way based on the color of one’s skin or their religious ideologies, that’s the point of libertarianism…to protect ALL people’s rights to live as they which, this includes all racial and ethnic minorities, religions, sexual orientations, etc.
