(ThyBlackMan.com) No sooner did the verdict in the Anthony case come in then a whole slew of “media personalities” began screaming bloody murder. A motley crew of lawyers, would-be lawyers and could not be lawyers began bellowing in outrage, and they have not stopped yet. They had already convinced the American people which way the case should go, how could things possibly turn out different than they had decided? After all, who were these upstarts on the jury with the gall to go against them! The American people dutifully followed the lead of their TV handlers and so now the nation is up in arms. How did we get to this place?

Who are these loudmouths leading the pack? Where did they come from. They were spawned during the OJ trial. A whole slew of talking heads cropped up on TV to regurgitate and pontificate each night for hours on end. The OJ case  lasted more than a year and cameras were allowed into the courtroom.  The entire “Trial of the Century” was played live on TV and at night came “in depth analysis” of the day in court.

Note that when OJ was initially charged, and he jumped into his white Ford bronco with a gun to his head, threatening to commit suicide, very few people Black,  white or other thought that he was guilty. And when the trial was over he was found innocent. However, during the interim the DA made claims, later proved to be false, but by then the damage was done, that bloody tools and clothing were found hidden in OJ’s home. That plus the talking heads whipping up a lynch mob mentality convinced most whites in America that OJ was indeed a murderer.

If that were not bad enough, the media as a whole sold out completely. Yes, OJ had had a trial by a jury of his peers, and yes he had been found innocent. But the majority of the people in the country felt he was guilty, so the press brushed aside these inconvenient truths and acted as though he were guilty as sin. Grievous harm was thereby done to the our judicial system. No longer are you innocent until proven guilty. You are guilty as hell as long as the mob, I mean most people in the country, led by the vapid talking heads, believed you to be so.

Perhaps because OJ was a Black man, they thought they could blithely stamp out his rights. But now that a white woman is in the sights of the lynch mob, some in the media are trying to dial it back, trying to point out that she did have a fair trial and the jury’s verdict must be respected. Where were they when OJ was hounded relentlessly? Too late now, a mob mentality, extremely deleterious to the system of justice has firmly taken root, and their handlers who are making money hand over fist as they systematically undermine respect for the law, continue to do their dirty work. Yes, you reap what you sow. And it looks as though we have truly reaped the whirlwind.
