(ThyBlackMan.com) In October, Google Pixel 2 XL appeared with its little brother Pixel 2. There have been many great smartphones in 2017, but the recently launched Pixel 2 XL is the best we have seen so far. The Pixel 2 XL sports a 6-inch screen and its corners are rounded with narrow bezels on top and bottom. You can check more details about the design, performance, specifications, and features below. The reason why companies like Samsung and Apple should take this phone seriously because Google has made a phone which is nearly perfect.

The glass and the two-color shade makes the phone look stunningly amazing. Google has not just made sure that the new Pixel phones look classy, the company also gave them a touch of fun. Look at the side buttons of the Pixel 2 and XL, and you’ll see a neon light on the power button. It looks beautiful but one thing is very clear that none of the new Pixel phones is as flashy and good looking as the iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy S8. So on this front, Google’s rivals don’t need to fear.

The Google Pixel 2 XL is designed to perform and this is the area Google is very serious about. The Pixel 2 XL comes in two colors, ‘JustBlack’ and ‘Black & White’ and comes for US$849 for 64GB internal storage capacity. If you want to increase it, pay 100 bucks and you can get 128GB of internal storage. The phone because of the material used in its body doesn’t support wireless charging, but it supports fast charging.

In the camera department, Google has done a great job. Both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL feature the same cameras on two sides, meaning that if you’re buying a Pixel phone for the camera and not very concerned about the display size, going with the cheaper option will be your best bet. On the back side, there’s a 12MP sensor. During the keynote presentation, Google emphasized the two-pixel factor. Every pixel in the phone is actually two pixels when you click photographs. You can take really good pictures with the fast camera. The most important thing in camera part is that Google has worked hard and implemented a lot of machine learning elements here. The fact that the last year’s Pixel camera was one of the best in the smartphone industry, so when the Pixel 2 XL arrives, we can expect Google to give a lot better this time.

The phone runs Android Oreo and sports a snappy Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM. The Pixel 2 XL supports USB-C and there’s no audio jack available on the phone. The speaker on front justifies the reason why Google chose to keep bezels on the top and the bottom of the phone. The phone supports Bluetooth 5 and supports auto-pairing for a limited number of headphones.

The Google Pixel 2 XL comes with the IP67 rating which means it is not a waterproof phone, but it can handle normal splashes. What makes Google Pixel 2 XL different than the previous Pixel phones is its squeezable sides. You can call it a gimmick or a useful feature. You can just squeeze its sides to launch Google Assistant. The same process can also be followed to make your phone silent when it is ringing.

If you think that Google has made the world’s most powerful phone, it has not. The Pixel 2 XL is powerful and is a nearly perfect phone in terms of performance. It doesn’t contain the world’s best design aspects and also doesn’t sport greatest mobile phone screen of all time, but it does what it says.

The companies like Apple and Samsung are very innovative with design, but Google, it needs some more time to reach to that place, if it really wants. The Google Pixel 2 XL is a very practical approach. Google knows how it can leverage the power of technology that includes search, machine learning, virtual reality and Google Assistant. The phone is not about the best hardware in a smartphone, the Pixel 2 XL is about how a phone can deliver strong software that’s more useful than everything else.

What a beauty. Still with that I would rather purchase the Note 8, or Iphone X.
Google will have to settle for “3” place literally.
