(ThyBlackMan.com) Everyone is busy these days. We get up in the morning, after having hit the snooze button several times, rushing to get ourselves, the kids and everyone else together. There is a mad dash to school, work, or the gym. In the chaos breakfast is not even a thought, and we tell ourselves we’ll grab something for lunch. Sometimes the only exception is the coffee so many need to get through the morning. This behavior is setting you up for health challenges as your body needs a healthy breakfast to jump start its functions. Not eating breakfast has even been link to one of the causes of diabetes.

Going to the gym on an empty stomach is not wise as your body doesn’t have the fuel it needs to jump start your metabolism…so not eating the first meal of the day negatively affects your ability to burn the fat. Breaking the habit of skipping breakfast will require more than just having breakfast food in the house. It will require preparation…which will cause you to bring how you order your day into account.

Many people skip the a.m. meal because they’re rushing to get out the door. That’s a mistake. You need food in your system long before lunchtime.  If you don’t eat first thing, you may get so hungry later on that you snack on high-fat, high sugar foods.” Deciding to eat breakfast will be an asset to everyone under your roof. Often times when parents don’t eat breakfast children learn to do the same thing. This can cause them to have concentration issues in class, and you at work. One of the easiest ways to acclimate to eating breakfast would be to being meal prep. Preparing your meals in advance would accommodate for the rush in the morning while allowing you the nutrition you need.

You will find that it also removes the burden of lunch and dinner as well. Meal prep can assist you with controlling what you eat, and how much you eat. Not eating breakfast has such a negative effect on the body taking the time to prep for it is worth the time. “Skipping the morning meal can throw off your body’s rhythm of fasting and eating. When you wake up, the blood sugar your body needs to make your muscles and brain work their best is usually low. Breakfast helps replenish it.

It is understood some people don’t eat breakfast because they don’t feel too good after eating that early. I suffered from this for a long time. I literally wouldn’t touch breakfast because I would feel nauseous as my day began to pick up momentum. It is important to note that this feeling could be caused by the heaviness of your breakfast, and how quickly you eat it. It may be wise to find a way to slow the morning down, which may mean abandoning the snooze button, so that you can eat your food at a moderate speed. No one said you have to partake of the huge Sunday morning breakfast everyday…that is not healthy. The goal is to eat a healthy solid breakfast so that your body is prepared for the day.
