(ThyBlackMan.com) One of the hardest things to do is to decide to leave a relationship, a relationship can either make you happy or miserable. The overall longevity of the relationship will include different challenges because that is normal in any relationship. Choosing to end an important relationship can be very difficult because you start to think of the beginning of the relationship and the good times you have had together.

A healthy relationship you need communication, respect, support, and the ability to compromise just to name a few. A relationship should have boundaries set in order to respect one another as well as the relationship. If you do not want to stay in a relationship or it is not working then you shouldn’t force it.

You have to understand that a person is only going to change if that is what they want. You can not force someone to change, it is something they have to want for themselves. Focusing on your own personal needs is always important never let a situation stress you out. Even though you can not change your partner you can change yourself, but that does not mean compromise your happiness for a relationship there are plenty fish in the sea.

When contemplating on potentially breaking up with your partner you should make this decision when you are not emotional or upset. Being able to think clearly makes making decisions much easier to make. When you make decisions impulsively it negatively affects the situation making you regret it afterwards. You also should think on the situation and determine the “pros” and “cons” before making a definite decision.

Ask yourself if the overall relationship enhances your life or is is destructive to your life. Anytime you feel as if you are constantly not happy in a relationship it may be time to let go. We grow attached to our partners over time and form bond with them so obviously you will be hurt. All wounds heal over time right ? Your happiness and overall well being should always be your number one priority, there is absolutely nothing wrong with putting yourself above all. Never stay in a situation, you should always know when to let go. There is no point in crying over spilled milk, right ?
