(ThyBlackMan.com) The Daily Caller recently posted an article attacking the conservative bona fides of Trump campaign national spokesperson, Katrina Pierson. They identified certain tweets from years past, especially ones supporting slain human rights hero Malcolm X. Occasionally, Black conservatives who voice admiration are demonized by peers seeking to invalidate them.
Oddly, these peers fail to question US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas well documented support for Malcolm X and the original Black Panthers. I guess only the lower strata are scrutinized.
A similar schism was revealed after the death of South African 
freedom fighter Nelson Mandela. Some conservatives got finger cramps typing tirades against his successful use of armed resistance. It’s worth noting the audible absence of ire from even the most conservative voices in the Black community. Self-defense is a non-negotiable conservative principle, as are home rule and entrepreneurship.
Placing these principles in opposition to racist rule at home and abroad reveals stark differences within Right ranks. Katrina Pierson, like myself and others, found few figures resembling Malcolm X in an imploding, liberalized Black mainstream. Our advocacy against gun control, abortion, marriage redefinition and addiction to programs we don’t control are descended from a self-help tradition independent of partisanship.
Conservatives who demand American Blacks repudiate Malcolm X should ask what would they do if faced with the same state-sanctioned bias and violence? Hating Malcolm X isn’t a requirement to be a Black conservative. Refusing to be an exotic pet for liberals (or even some on the Right) is all that’s required.
