Her career was managed by Teri Shields, her mother. Being an actress is in the roots of Shields. As a matter of fact, her mother was a small time actress and her mother used to bring her to the set.

Brooke Shields has this natural charm ever since she was a baby. She was once tagged as the most beautiful baby in America. Since then, she was never out from the spotlight. In 1976, her debut film was released which was Alice Sweet Alice. Her acting prowess was not easily recognized by then. It was Louis Malle, a French director who introduced Shields in the film industry in a whole new level. She played a 12-year-old prostitute in New Orleans in the movie Pretty Baby, which was released in 1978. The film was controversial at that time because of the nude contents. The scenes were mature for her age, but her director was able to capture the scenes with taste and substance. That film made Brooke Shields an unforgettable actress.

Aside from being an actress, she was also a model. Brooke has posted for the famous brand Calvin Klein. She also appeared three times in the cover of Life Magazine. In fact, she was able to make it in the cover of Time. The film is all about true love and innocence. Despite her busy career, Shields managed to enroll in college. She spent her college life in Princeton while doing a few films on the side.

After finishing college, she returned to her original passion, which is acting. She focused on acting full time and appeared on mediocre films.

It was in 1996 when Brooke Shields was giver her very first sitcom entitled Suddenly Susan, which was under NBC Network. She played a career woman that is struggling with her life after breaking up with her rich fiancée. It was experimental at first because she was not used to comedy film, but with the passage of time she was able to prove to the world that she is a versatile actress. Throughout the years, she was able to make it in some popular television shows like Nip/Tuck, That 70s Show, Hannah Montana, and Two and a Half Men. She also performed on Broadway and some of her appearances were Chicago, Cabaret, and Grease. She also took over the role of Morticia Addams in the famous Broadway musical; The Addams Family.

When talking about Brooke Shields, the first thing that comes to mind is a beautiful face and her unforgettable role in Blue Lagoon. In reality, there is more to just a pretty face. She is a woman of substance and grace.
