(ThyBlackMan.com) Expect George Zimmerman to be found guilty of manslaughter receive substantial jail time. After he shot the unarmed, 17 year old Trayvon Martin, the cops told him to go home and forget it. Massive demonstrations subsequently swept the nation. And so he was charged with homicide and the police chief lost his job. Were George Zimmerman to walk or just get a slap on the wrist, the trial would be seen as having been a charade. That would be a massive wake up call for Black America. It would stir from its slumber and begin a protracted period of activist campaigns and questioning of the criminal justice and political systems. The establishment does not want that.

Note that the judge is not a white man. A white male judge would be expected to be partial to George Zimmerman no matter how he ruled. Neither is the judge a Black man or a Black woman, they would be viewed as favoringGeorge-Zimmerman-laughs-in-court Trayvon, and so a white woman was selected. As for the jury, there are five white women and a Latina. The prosecutors and the defense attorneys are all white men. So essentially whites are handling the case, so whatever verdict they reach will be palatable to the white community. The only verdict Black America will accept is guilty of some sort of homicide, manslaughter would suffice. As for the Latinos, his name is not Spanish, he is only “half Latino” and there is a Latina on the jury, and so they are not likely to complain.

George Zimmerman would have had a better chance of acquittal if there had been a change of venue.  It is a local jury. His town and his county have been vilified. All they want is get the whole mess behind them. What do you think an acquittal will do for them? And if they acquit him, the jurors will try to remain hidden from the public. No book deals. No TV appearances. Only opprobrium from the nation, not to mention how they will be treated by their friends and neighbors after having brought scorn upon them all.

Keep in mind these women, most if not all of them mothers, one with eight children, above all want peace and quiet and justice to prevail. George Zimmerman profiled the innocent Trayvon Martin, chased him, and caught him, all without ever announcing that he was part of any neighborhood watch, and then he shot him to death. He cannot cry self-defense. The police told him not to pursue Trayvon.

And Trayvon’s right of self-defense trumps his since Trayvon was obeying the law and minding his own business when he was pursued and then confronted by an angry stranger with a gun. Things will basically shape up like they did in the last two elections when white women overwhelmingly chose the reasonable Black male over the angry, bitter, reactionary white male. Mark my words.

The bottom line to this sad ending is, there’s no justice for the Blackman in this country, unless you have money and even then, if you’re found innocent, you can still be found guilty in a civil case. Just ask OJ. There are too many examples, but the one that stands out most was the Rodney king case. If these cops could be found not guilty when the video clearly showed what they did, then this proves my point.

This justice system is exactly what it says it is. Just – us, and we’re not included. To end the back and forth of whether Zimmerman was right for murdering Trayvon, is the fact that if he would’ve followed the 911 operators instructions, we wouldn’t be having this discussion now. As far as this site being racist, why are you even coming on this site? As you clearly noted, it says ThyBlackman, which you obviously are not.

Black Unity means financial independence and happiness

    Correction,

the racist and dumb person is Dave not Robert!

  3. Steph says:

    Robert,

Do not waste your time with Dave who is a racist and dumb! He refuses to admit that Martin is the modern Emmett Till!!!

  4. Dave says:

Robert, I don’t think you have looked at a map where the incident took place. It was not outside of his father’s home. It was near where Zimmerman’s car was parked while he was waiting for the police and looking for an address. Trayvon was already home and he went back out to start a confrontation. The screams heard in the 911 calls are very convincing evidence for me that Zimmerman feared for his life. It was a dumb situation that never should have happened, but it was a non-incident until Trayvon escalated it into violence and it ended badly.

Frankly,I think any website calling itself theblackman.com, is in itself raciest. I consider myslf an American, not whiter American, not Irish or Italian, simply American. That being said, I would find it surprising to see anyone here who agrees with the verdict. There is a thing called “evidence” , or in the case, the absence of it. I think it is terrible thing that this young man lost his life. I think that without regard for Trayvon’s color. To me, he is a life that no longer exist, and i weep for him. It is what it is. Case closed. Time to get on with life and hope for better times ahead for everyone.

TO DAVE IF you read my initial comments on this topic I said the prosecution made a tactical error by allowing this case to come down to a ZIMMERMAN self defense case.
AS far as I know stalking is a crime and would be threatening to anyone especially a young black man dealing with a creepy cracker.
THE fact of the matter is TRAYVON should have been claiming self defense.
YOU said [TRAYVON had plenty of time to get home safely].
MY question is safely from what
AND then you said [but then he went back out and accosted ZIMMERMAN with a sucker punch]that means ZIMMERMAN was outside of this young mans residence when he returned which is a further indication of stalking and provocation.
I don’t know what world you live in DAVE but if someone followed me home and waited outside of my residence I would have came outside of my home with more than a sucker punch!

  7. Dave says:

Robert, you are absolutely wrong. The judge allowed the jury to learn that following a person is not a crime. Trayvon had plenty of time to get home safely but then he went back out and accosted Zimmerman with a sucker punch, not the other way around. Trayvon did not have any right to assault anyone at that point. He attacked what he called a creepy ass cracker. He was not provoked unless you say that anyone can punch anyone just for looking at them. You can hear Zimmerman’s cries for help on the 911 call for about 40 seconds. He did what he had to do to protect his life from Trayvon on top of him. Trayvon escalated the situation into violence and paid the ultimate price. The medical examiner testified that Trayvon had enough marijuana in his system to impair his decisions. He was suspended from school for burglary tools and stolen jewelry found in his backpack. He was looking to get a gun illegally, unlike George Zimmerman who lawfully carried his gun around. Stop pretending that Zimmerman jumped Trayvon or that Trayvon had a right to jump Zimmerman. Neither scenario is true.

  8. ROBERT says:

TO DAVE : YOU are absolutely wrong the first crime that took place was ZIMMERMAN stalking A person for no other reason than his race.
IF you are saying that a person can arm themselves and accost anyone they choose and when they get a physical reaction they then have a right to shoot the very person they provoked than you and I have a different understanding of the law.
ALSO the references of TRAVON’S drug use and possession of burglary tools are irrelevant and is only used to cover up a murder of a innocent young man who was doing nothing wrong at the time of his murder.

  9. Dave says:

Robert, the only crime that took place was when Trayvon jumped Zimmerman. Up until that point, neither one had done anything wrong, although Trayvon was high on marijuana, I’m not counting that. Zimmerman was forced to defend himself as heard by the cries on the 911 tape. Before that, Trayvon had arrived at the place he was staying and he went back out and attacked Zimmerman. He got the worst of it but that’s because he attacked someone who had a gun. Otherwise he was pummeling Zimmerman as shown by the injuries.

  10. ROBERT says:

TO DAVE I think the evidence also show that ZIMMERMAN racially profiled and stalked this young man.
YOU do not have the right to arm yourself and go out in public and provoke a incident in which you can shoot someone and then claim self defense.
NONE of this would have happened had this person minded his own business and left this young man in peace.
NO crime was reported and TRAYVON had caused no one any harm therefore anything that transpired is the fault of ZIMMERMAN!

  11. Dave says:

The evidence shows Trayvon threw a sucker punch at Zimmerman and then beat him for about 40 seconds before Zimmerman fought back in self defense. Nothing George Zimmerman had done was illegal up to that point. You cannot just attack someone because you think he is a creepy ass cracker. Trayvon had already returned home and went back out to start a fight. Zimmerman was the one calling police and the one screaming for help. The jury should acquit Mr. Zimmerman based on the prosecution’s failure to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, if you are going to make a point that Zimmerman is half white, you may as well mention too that Obama is half white.

  12. ROBERT says:

I the believe the prosecution made a tactical error when they allowed this trial to come down to who won the fight and who was screaming for help.
THE only thing that should have mattered was who initiated the incident and the cause of contact everything else was irrelevant.
HAVING said that we should be concerned about the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE involvement in demonstrations and other activities surrounding this case.
WE should make the NAACP tell us how much money they received from the government and what was their role regarding this case.
