(ThyBlackMan.com) When we turn on the news it seems to be overrun with bad news. There seems to be death, war, famine, and disease at every turn. Very rarely do we get to see good news that’s abundant and reminds us that life is good. If one believes in God, it may be safe to say there is an acknowledgement of Satan’s existence. If life is balanced then if there is good there is evil, but for some time now evil seems to be running rampant. Every time I look up, I’m reading about another dead child, and more often than I would like…it hits close to home. In addition to what is happening around us we must make sense of what is happening to us directly. This isn’t always easy and there is no one size fits all way of handling. This does mean therapy will work wonders for some, and not too much for others. There are those that will need medication, and some that won’t be able to take the medicine if they wanted to. The common thread is we are all looking for a lifeline, and trying to simply keep our heads above water in a world that magnifies damnation and suffering.

Devout Christians: Magnifying God is a Lifeline.

The magnification of a thing might be the key to helping us find our way not peace, and in some ways our way back to the peace of God is we feel as though it’s lost. For all the madness in the world, if you’re on social media you’re bound to hear someone talk about manifesting the life they want, and the power of positive speaking. This is very important in terms of speaking life in our situation. However, if one believes in God then we understand all things come from a source more powerful than self. Life might feel overwhelming, not only because of the things that are happening to us, but because we magnify the problems we face more than the source that can right the situation.

I will never say this is an easy revelation, as a matter of fact once I came to understand it, I found it to be liberating and difficult. As a person whose life has been riddled with loss and terminal illness the problems I faced were in my face and threatening my very existence. The problems had my undivided attention in a way that had me magnifying the problem, making them larger than my prayers. At some point my issues were larger than God in my eyes because I have made them so. In that moment I realized yes, God is greater, but that doesn’t become personal until I began to focus on him as a solution. He had to be the one that will direct me to what I need to do to better my situation. This is not easy, but it can be done.

Magnifying the God in the storms of life is a lifeline. A burden is lifted off our shoulders when we choose to invite God into our situation verses trying to shoulder it alone. Yes, God sees us in our state, but he can only enter the matter by invitation as he will not force anyone to accept him. Surrendering to prayer and praise can renew the spirit, mind, and body. As you magnify God the problems become small in your eyes as presence of God becomes larger in your eyes. How we see the challenges of life determines how we will speak to them, what we will manifest, and what we will magnify. Though life’s challenges may look the same right after praise and worship, you are not the same and this is what matters. You are now walking in peace where there was once only confusion. You are thanking God for “making all of the crooked places straight” instead of speaking defeat. The peace that the world doesn’t understand is allowing you to sleep at night, and it is allowing God to minister the wisdom needed for the challenges you face.

As you make the choice every day, and sometimes every moment, to magnify God you will begin to see the changes you want and need manifest in your life. When others are racked with fear you will find that you can pour encouragement into them, and they can hear you because they see you walking in the change you speak of. Magnifying God doesn’t stop you from taking care of your body and mind professionally when you need it, it means you don’t go into those spaces feeling powerless and alone. God will always be larger than the issues of life, and he’s always ready and waiting to be invited into the situation to give us the support we need.
