(ThyBlackMan.com) When celebrities start a new exercise regime or get the latest in plastic surgery, we see a surge in trends for the average citizen. If you have noticed the impact that Kylie Jenner has had on the makeup industry, you will know exactly what we are talking about. Some celebrity trends are too expensive for the rest of us or simply fall out of favor due to health concerns. Today we review some of those awesome fads and how they have evolved over the years.
Smoking was Once a Thing
Smoking cigarettes was once a fad used by actors and actresses alike to suppress their appetites and keep up with the demands of a specific body image. If you watch classic movies, you inevitably see cigarette smoking for most of the movie. It also lent itself to the bad boy/girl image for some characters. Think James Dean in just about anything he made and Cher puffing away as a biker mom in Mask. Times have changed and smoking has changed in the movie business due to the health risks that it causes people. The alternative now is vaping an e-cigarette or cannabidiol oil (CBD oil) because it’s much safer and provides the relief that some people need while dealing with stress. You can easily find vaping juice online if you do not have any vaping stores locally, and those websites are a wealth of information on vaping and the appropriate tools you will need.
Plastic Surgery Evolves
Plastic surgery has been around since the last 1800’s and has been used heavily by celebrities to maintain a youthful appearance in order to keep working as long as possible. While we wish everyone could grow old gracefully, or society has put pressure on celebrities to look young and fit. Breast implants, butt implants, nose jobs, and facelifts are all very popular choices for the elite. Some of these procedures are expensive and involve invasive surgery, which comes with its own risks. So what is the alternative? While you cannot change the size of your nose or breasts with a simple exercise, you can use diet and exercise to keep yourself looking fit.
Squats are everyone’s best friend when you want firm buttocks! Cardio and weight training keeps you tone and avoids sagging. Drinking plenty of water will also keep the elasticity in your skin and flush your body of harmful toxins. Of course, you will see the signs of aging at some point and that is where non-invasive treatments are far more affordable and easier on the body. Botox is a very popular option to erase some of the wrinkles and LED therapy can keep your facial skin tight and youthful.
Diet Pills are a No-No
Diet pills have been around since the late 1800’s and prior to that, people used herbs to suppress their appetites. In Hollywood, diet pills are still a staple despite the warnings that are associated with them. For a while, celebrities even endorsed some diet pills! Anna Nicole Smith was a Playboy model and Gap model but is also a very well-known spokesperson for a diet pill known as TrimSpa. Why do they use them? Because despite the natural habit of gaining and losing weight, celebrities feel pressured to lose weight very quickly in order to get back to work. If you look at most celebrity women who have had children, their weight loss makes the average woman in America quite jealous. These pills, unfortunately, can cause lots of organ damage and should be avoided at all costs. If you want to lose weight, do the old-fashioned method of a healthy diet and regular exercise!
There are so many other trends in Hollywood that we see often. Pot-smoking is quite popular and more celebs are speaking out about their usage to avoid a more dangerous habit like cigarettes. Exercises devised by personal trainers will often get attention from a celebrity and we watch it explode around the world. It can all be good or bad, we just suggest you do research before adopting the trend so that you are safe.
