(ThyBlackMan.com) Among the certain types of topics that are considered very taboo to discuss in the African community in America, there is one topic that stands out above the rest is the issue of the various forms of mental illnesses that are very common amongst a lot of African people in this country.
Over 200+ years of American slavery as done very severe and irreparable harm to our psychological well-being as well as self-esteem and no other group of people have ever gone through what we went through and still managed to be resilient enough to survive that.
There are various forms of mental illness in our community that I often see not only on social media, but also in public and it really bothers me to be very honest with you.
Intro: Here are the most common forms of mental illnesses that currently exists among a lot of people in our community.
1. Worshipping Whiteness – This type of mental illness is very common among negropeans, especially those who love to blindly worship White Jesus every Sunday at the business known as The Church.
Example – Negropean Christians are taught to believe that White Jesus is their savior and that he will cleanse all those “lost souls” and “devil worshippers” out there that are trying to “destroy the foundation” of the fictional god they blindly worship which is a huge mental illness in our community.
2. Sexism – I often see brothers, particularly the pseudo-conscious dudes viciously attack the intellectual educated sisters not only on YouTube, but also social media when they drop knowledge about the social issues affecting our community as well as other real issues.
Example – An intellectual sister on YouTube talks about the sexism they face and then pseudo-conscious guys come at her calling her all sorts of negative derogatory names that they can come up with to silence her from speaking out on real issues affecting our community.
3. Buying Into The Myth That Whiteness Is “Better” – Some brothers not only in public, but also in the mainstream have a huge mental illness of truly loving themselves when they think that dating/marrying a Becky is “better” than dating a beautiful looking sister. This mental illness among some brothers personally disgusts me and it needs to change.
Example – A brother with low self-esteem and deep self-hate of himself will sickeningly “praise” Becky, but deliberately demean and disrespect the sisters just to “please” Becky and this also angers and disgusts me.
4. Defending & Glorifying Ignorance – One of the worst types of mental illness that currently exists in our community is the fact that a lot of negropeans will go out of their way to fight intellectual people who actually call out ignorance because they (negropeans) gladly defend and glorify ignorance.
Example – When Floyd Mayweather Jr. made it rain by blowing 40 G’s at the club, intellectual African people called out Floyd’s ignorant behavior and were attacked by negropeans who ignorantly believe that urban celebrities like Mayweather owe absolutely nothing to our community when in fact we supported him throughout his entire boxing career. If it wasn’t for us supporting him, he would’ve never had the boxing career he’s had.
5. Having A “Money Over Everything” Mentality – The “Money Over Everything” mentality is a very common form of mental illness that many urban athletes, entertainers, and rappers have these days. This mentality is very toxic and destructive to them because many of them will gladly sell their integrity away by buck dancing for the parasitic capitalistic dollar.
Example – Notorious negropean Stephen A. Smith over at ESPN will gladly buck dance for his corporate Massa by deliberately making negative and disrespectful comments about our people and our community to cater to and make mainstream America feel comfortable for the parasitic capitalistic dollar, which also disgusts me.
6. Self-Hate – There is a huge problem that is greatly plaguing our community and it’s called self-hate. A lot of young African people in America start off with self-esteem issues as a little African child and I was one of those. They tend to see whiteness as the “standard of beauty” “standard of professionalism” when we know that those are basically myths.
Example – When Lil Kim came out in the 90s, she was a beautiful young African woman with the attractiveness to go along with it.
Fast forward to 2017, she has now become a fraction of what she could have been and has become one of the faces of self-hatred in the African community in America
When a African person like a Lil Kim has outside influences from society and mainstream media constantly telling her that “you ain’t good enough”, “you don’t look good who you are” or “you’ll never be nothing”, then that will affect that African person’s subconscious to the point of them taking those criticisms about their appearance and run with it to later become the person that becomes almost unrecognizable.
7. Sending Our Kids To Colonialist Public Schools That Psychologically Despise Them – “Many African parents have the mental illness of deliberately throwing their kids to these evil colonialistic savages and then wanna get all mad and shit when their kids get harmed by them and wanna blame them solely for harming their child.”
“Third, I noticed many African parents are coming up with all sorts of excuses as to why they can’t even fathom taking up the responsibility of educating their own children when they say things like
1) I gotta work today
2) It’s too hard
3) It’s too stressful
4) I don’t have the time nor energy to do that and all these other weak pathetic excuses that they can come up with.”
“For me personally, many these African parents in America that put their kids in harm’s way by sending them to these imperialists are ALSO to blame for their kids being harmed by them because they actually chose to send their kids to these toxically destructive imperialistic systems that will only lead them to incarceration and marginalization.”
“It is up to US to teach our own kids who they really are & where they came from & we need to stop relying on these corrupt imperialistic systems to teach our kids & teach our kids ourselves.”
The Conclusion – These types of mental illness that I mentioned in this article should be engaged with a very honest and meaningful dialogue about them and coming up with solutions to stop them.
