(ThyBlackMan.com) The Democrats have always found a way to influence black voters since Roosevelt got the 71 percent of the black vote for president in 1936; since Harry Truman pulled 77 percent of the black vote in 1948 because he had ordered desegregating of the armed services and an executive order that ruled against racial bias in federal employment; and since Lyndon B. Johnson pushed the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964 and received 94 percent of the black vote that same year. But, in each instance mentioned, these presidents gave black voters something back in return. What happened after 1964?
“We fought to have our right to vote. We had our Freedom Fighters. We had our sit-ins. We had our marches. We had our peaceful protests.
Now, it’s time for our vote to truly mean something.” said Hawk Newsome, Black Lives Matter Leader and creator of the campaign #IAintVoting Until #BlackLivesMatter. “It is critical that black people learn to use their votes in a way that will help advance their community. We fail to utilize our vote to its fullest potential.”
Newsome has taken a stance that is not too popular within the African American community. But, he does fall in line with the likes of Malcolm X and W.E.B. DuBois with his political thought theory. Newsome is encouraging individuals not to vote.
“African Americans should abstain from voting until Black Lives Matter. White America deserves Trump. Maybe, they need to know what it’s like to have people responsible for their safety and well-being operating with a reckless indifference about their lives.”
He believes that not voting does not infringe on the work of his black ancestors. “We are disrespecting them more by participating in a two-party election process that does not serve our community. We need to take back the true power of our vote and create movements that will hold them accountable to our demands.”
“Who in the race for President has stepped up front and center to say Black Lives Matter? Hillary Clinton just recently used the new trending, buzzword ‘systemic racism’ during her nomination acceptance speech at the DNC. Yet, just in February, she quickly had a Black Lives Matter activist escorted from a private fundraiser when the activist told Clinton that she was not a ‘superpredator’ and demanded an apology to the black community for mass incarceration”
At the rise of Bill Clinton’s Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act in 1994, Hillary stated in support of her husband:
“They are often the kind of kids that are called
‘super-predators.’ No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.” The crime bill has since proven it has created issues such as mass incarceration and longer mandatory sentences—issues that deeply affect the African-American community.
“Not only do we seek criminal justice reform as a priority, but we are actively seeking ways we can get better representation of black people in state, local, and national elections. It all starts with regaining control of our vote,” said Newsome. “If you have a candidate that you can solidly say has your community’s best interest at the forefront at the state and local level, then by all means—VOTE. Otherwise, African Americans should not be throwing their votes away on candidates that bring a track record of nothingness to our community.”
Clinton has also failed to garner the support of Black Lives Matter Co-Founder, Alicia Garza. She was recently quoted on Bloomberg saying that the Clinton’s only “use us for photo ops.”
Newsome said, “If you find yourself in the voting booth in November, do not vote for the ‘lesser of two evils.’ Write ‘I Ain’t Voting’ on the ballot for president and in any other spot on the ballot that your community has not been represented.”
Hawk Newsome launched the initiative #IAintVoting Until
#BlackLivesMatter in July and has gained national attention ever since. In an interview with BBC, Newsome said, “Black Americans have a chance right now collectively to say to the Democrats: ‘Hey, if you don’t give us criminal justice reform, we’ll vie the country to Donald Trump.’ That’ll send the Democrats into a frenzy. Black lives will matter then, I guarantee you.”
The #IAintVoting Campaign plans to begin a tour that will include key swing states—areas both major parties will be fighting hard for. The aim is to continue a national push to activate the disenfranchised.

I love this website.
And inner city blacks deserve fathers to raise their offspring, but you don’t see any rising to the occasion.
‘… said Newsome. “If you have a candidate that you can solidly say has your community’s best interest at the forefront at the state and local level, then by all means—VOTE. Otherwise, African Americans should not be throwing their votes away on candidates that bring a track record of nothingness to our community.”
I could equally ask, what have Black Americans brought to their country?? Right now, young black males are burning down businesses in Milwaukee. So what’s new.
A more militarized police force will put an end to this crap. Trump is the man to end BLM. Once Obozo is gone we can restore law and order. Stupid libtard wing of white america has allowed this nonsense to go on for too long.
Make America Great Again!
In order to make radical changes, there needs to be a radical approach. Radicalism in America is not commonly viewed as the most widely accepted approach in society. Mr. Newsome’s political thought theory is not too far off from that of Malcolm X’s “Ballot or the Bullet” and W.E.B. DuBois’s “I Won’t Vote.” History has shown that the most popular way of doing things have not helped the advancement of black people in this country. Maybe it is time to revisit some of the more “unpopular” approaches in order to get things done.
BLACK LIES MATTER……….TO LIARS.
Good on you! This is the greatest thing I’ve heard from BLM. Besides, you guys don’t care about the laws anyway, so they shouldn’t affect you much.
Keep fighting the good fight, my non brothers!
While I was tempted to come down hard on Mr. Newsome, I feel maybe he just don’t understand why having the RIGHT TO VOTE is so important. In this republican form of government, when one votes, they are exercising their public desire for change. When we vote in blocks, we force the direction of public policy, even when the candidates don’t agree with the voting blocks direction. MR. NEWSOME, YOU SHOULD NEVER TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE DIRECTION A CANDIDATE’S POSITION ON AN ISSUE. WHEN WE DON’T VOTE, DECISIONS ARE MADE FOR US WITHOUT OUR INPUT(HENCE PROTECTION FOR AGGRESSIVE POLICEMEN BY THE COURTS). Sadly, you are just the type of slave(I lied, I am coming down hard on the gentleman) that conservative politicians love: A self nullifying idiot that does not understand the power of the vote.
Hard to believe this racist garbage popped up on my newsfeed.
you do know that trump would be the president of “black america” too, right?
Fck Black Lives Matter. I hope they all gather together on a faulty bridge and it collapses. Good riddance.
Your 15 minutes of fame came and went with scarcely a whimper. Just a humiliation of you and your friends.
yes we do…. Vote Trump dumb ass and get a job and stop looking for FREE stuff
“African Americans should abstain from voting until Black Lives Matter.
i can tell this teenybopper is going to end up living in a trailer behind a strip club.
no vote no job no nothing just yelling.
