(ThyBlackMan.com) Tavon Austin, Baltimore native who along with his Rams teammates showed solidarity with the black community saying hands up don’t shoot, torched Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks leaving them looking fricasseed and baked in the secondary badly needing Virginia native Kam Chancellor. In a post game conference Richard Sherman decided to address a post that was made by King Noble that was mistakenly attributed to him and decided to trash and drag Black Lives Matter because there is crime in the black community.?!
Now I am NOT denying that there is crime in our community full disclosure my brother was murdered at the hands of another young black man and honestly the neighborhood and community that he lived in knew what happen and said nothing. For very good reason. Because a 13 year old girl was murdered when she agreed to help police identify a murderer in that very same community. To this very day the murder remains unsolved of both my brother and the 13 year old girl so nobody can tell me how crime in our community affect us. With that being said I’m not stupid enough to conflate the two arguments. Avoiding using the obvious reason as to why this is an apples to steak comparison such as;
1) Black Lives Matter is a response to law enforcement seemingly being unprosecutable in obvious cases of police brutality and murder of Black People ..
2) “Black on Black crime” is a Byproduct of white supremacy. Even a “Stanford Educated brother ” like Richard Sherman knows that years of systematic oppression, Cointelpro, throw in a little crack thanks to Ollie North, brought to you by Ronald Reagan and the next thing you know you’ve got the crack epidemic…. Hey it happens? But what about black on black crime?
Well, according to Richard Sherman, until we take care of that we can’t talk about any social issue outside of the community. So if the police are brutalizing us and not solving murder cases (like the case of my brother) but causing murders (like in the case of my friend Tyrone Hines murdered by police two days before the murder of my brother) we shouldn’t address either because black on black crime still exists.
Well if that is the case why was Richard Sherman whining about being called a thug? I mean we do have black elements in our community we would probably consider thugs, so using Richards logic we have to clean up the Thugs first before we worry about what other people call us.
I WONDER IF IT SOUNDS AS STUPID TO HIM AS IT DOES TO ME.
Now let’s get down to business, the fact of the matter is that Richard is way off on this one. In the cases of black on black crime it is only brought up or talked about by the white media when it is brought up that the police are killing unarm black man for no reason at all other than them being black. For a black man to parrot this is not only counterproductive but it is downright treasonous! If you want to bring up how Black Lives Matter coincides with so-called black on black crime, bring up how in the cases of so-called black on black crime the police never seemed to fully investigate or do their due diligence or house in many cases the police do not protect those who are willing to come forward in cases of so-called black on black crime. Just recently here in Washington DC a couple was murdered by an anonymous person after a few days of investigation the police found the killer who had fled the area.
In the case of my brother who was murdered outside in front of people he grew up with not only could the police not guarantee the safety if anyone have pointed out the killer they were all so quick to let me and my father know that even though we knew who the killer was they were watching us in case we decided to retaliate. All the while me and my brother we’re frequently stopped and frisked by police officers carrying a notebook full of pictures looking to arrest us if we were in that book. This was brought up into town hall meeting to DC Police Chief Kathy Lanier, which she denied but I can assure you as being a victim of this more than once it’s actually happening.
But what about black on black crime?
What about the fact that the people who always say “we can’t talk about racism until we deal with what’s going on in our community” never seem to say that white people can’t say racism doesn’t exist until they clean up their community, they can’t talk about the problems that blacks cause until they clean up their community. Why is it that they never say “white people can never say we’re equal until they give us full reparations and land of our own? I guess it’s easier to point the finger at yourself and ignore your own history, then it is to be a Man and speak truth to power.
But maybe somebody should tell Richard Sherman to watch Discovery ID because there’s a whole lot of white on white crime going on that nobody seems to be addressing. The Aurora shooting in Colorado was white on white crime . How come he isn’t speaking out against white guys dressed like the Joker? Most of the police that have been murdered this year have been murdered by white people. In fact most of the police murdered last year were murdered by white supremacist!
But What About Black on Black crime?
Men like Richard Sherman only see racism when it is practice against them but he never sees the impact that racism and white supremacy has on his own community. This is why they get on TV and spew white supremacist talking points with such ease. My advice to Richard Sherman is read some books and get with Marshawn Lynch and learn how to be quiet! And most importantly I cannot forget this one Richard Sherman…….
STOP COONING!

James,
I would be leary of any so called black man who spent the majority of his career blaming black people for crimes they probably didn’t do and arresting them and now is spending his Twilight on the internet Kooning for white people

Marquee Anthony. …
Fuck yourself you buckdancing coon
To James,
Your points are well made. But us blaming the white man (the guilty ones) and rehashing the institutionalized racism song will not help us fix our own communities. RE MY ARTICLE ON THISS SITE ENTITLED “HOW TO FIX THE BLACK COMMUNITY”.
WE ARE THE SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEMS and I choose not to wait nor to rely on those institutions who caused the problems in the first place. Our solutions are economic, political, sociological etc. But the solutions must be launched from strong AA communities, strong homes with fathers present, economically sound homes and communities that police our own. Charity begins where?
It amazes me how many of you are still brainwashed to call yourselves BLACK. Black is the color of your car tires, not your skin. The white oppressive slave trader called you black and himself white to set up a contrast and to attach negative images and denotations to you based on a lie about color. Look up BLACK in the dictionary.
Research even shows that blacks are perceived by other groups as very different from African Americans. But we still keep calling ourselves what someone else defined us as, what we are not and what has a negative dictionary denotation in society. WAKE UP. LOOK AT THE REAL COLOR OF YOUR SKIN. YOU ARE NOT BLACK. You are an African American. The lie of calling us black and defining us by color (the wrong color) has been in place so long that our people accept it as truth – but it’s not. Know your colors.
Native Americans do not allow others to call them red men. Asians do not accept being called yellow men. Hispanics do not answer to “what’s up brown man”. And Caucasians are not white, notebook paper is white. Wake up and see the plan where white racist supremacists plotted to redefine our people from Africa. STOP CALLING YOURSELF SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE NOT!
Mr. Anthony:
I think the point that this author is making is pretty clear. Black on black crime does not exclude State sanctioned killings of black people. In a sense State sanctioned killings of blacks is the new form of lynching blacks. In both situations, blacks end up dead without consequences to the killer especially when the killer represents or is law enforcement. That has to stop! When a man in the case of Eric Garner says he cannot inhale life sustaining air 11 times and the person choking him has the power to release that choke-hold and does not; he should be held accountable for his actions. ( The city of New York felt civically culpable because they paid the Garner family without going to trial over 5 million dollars to settle the law suit brought against that white man for his actions while representing the city as a policeman). Garner was unarmed and there were at least 4-5 people who were suppose to be acting in the role of police officers there to control Mr. Garner had that the choke-hold been momentarily released. Or when a man is running away from a person who is acting in the role of a police officer and is shot in the back and killed – it is incumbent upon blacks who call themselves citizens to behave like citizens and hold that person accountable.
Look, Mr. Anthony, I get what you are saying and I feel many others do also. Black communities are facing multiple problems on multiple fronts, such as high unemployment, black on black crime and poor leadership to name a few. However, to handle one problem and leave the others undone is in no way the answer. We ought to attack all our problems with great vigor. Just as lynching was attacked by blacks in the early part of the 20th century along with fighting for civil rights, it should give all of us hope that we can do more than one thing. However, turning a blind eye to State sanctioned killings of our youngsters, sons, daughters, husbands, wives and friends makes us look like “cowards of the worst kind who run away with their tails between their legs,”when confronted with this issue. I don’t know about you, but as for me, I feel committed and compelled to do what I can and when I can to help bring these kinds of killings to an end just as many of my brothers and sisters of years passed felt about bringing lynching to an end.

Victims of the system? Sometimes but not all the time. Its time to grow up, own up to personal responsibility and step up to fix our own communities. The white man is not making the young black boy invade homes, steal TVs and smoke weed. His parents are allowing it so blame them as well.
As an African American and former detective, I must correct a number of things you (the Author) have said – even though the truth is not popular. I am also a writer on this site, I have contacted Black Lives Matter and some of them have been very irresponsible. The truth is not coonery, it is the truth. Black Lives Matter consists of many angry people who do not know how to use the system to get results so they handle things in the wrong way. Sometimes breaching the peace is necessary, but with clear cut and unified objectives, not crazy unattainable ones.
Black on black crime is not just the fault of white people. Yes I know history but I also know we cannot continue to abdicate personal responsibility for our own actions. Sandra Bland, Eric Garner and Samuel Dubose all needed to understand this.
We have to address the crime in our own communities and stop scapegoating. Systematic racism is a major factor and so is slavery. But if those become excuses and our people stay in denial, we will never fix the problems. We have to fix the problems in our own communities and stop waiting for the white man, blaming the white man and calling anyone who speaks the truth coons. WAKE UP, it is a lot deeper than that.
