How To Fight The Power Using Wisdom.

(ThyBlackMan.com) A Memphis Police Officer was just shot and killed during a traffic stop. The question is, does that make it harder on those of us who may soon be faced with a traffic stop or easier? While I neither promote nor advise illegal retaliation, I overstand it. There is a balance to the universe that plays out in reaping and sowing. Are we working against ourselves because many of us are choosing to “fight the power” in the wrong way?

On the other hand, do we really fight fire with fire or with water? Do we really want a war against law enforcement? Are we prepared for such a war? And who is likely to win? Finally, aren’t there other ways just as impacting? Sometimes it is better to put your cigarette out, sign a Warning and walk away. We tell our children to walk away but then why should we undertake battles at a time when we are likely to lose? Sandra Bland did not overstand that. Trayvon Martin did not overstand that( a parent’s fault). Eric Garner did not overstand that. While I am not blaming the victims for their own deaths, I am saying we can unknowingly open the tiger cage and stand right in front of it.

In The Untouchables, Sean Connery says, speaking of taking down Al Capone “he sends one of yours to the hospital, you send two of his to the morgue”. But I have to ask where will this end. We must fight back but using wisdom, strategy and do so politically, legislatively, economically (boycotts), socially (protests, rallies, marches), spiritually and physically (at the right time in self-defense).fight_the_power_vector_sticker-2015

In the movie Malcom X, Elijah Mohammad told Malcolm that he should not have spoken out as he did when Kennedy was assassinated. Elijah Mohammad said “the country loved this man and you have made it hard for all Muslims”. Each African American must realize that our actions affect other African Americans – how we are perceived, stereotyped and treated. If we react foolishly and without the power of our people behind us, we endanger the group as a whole. That is why, in the mob, no autonomous actions were allowed.

Again, in The Untouchables with Robert Deniro, he illustrates this by killing one of his lieutenants with a baseball bat. Click the link and watch it for yourself. It makes alot of sense. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8I0i7lcZnY

Our people must learn the Art of War instead of charging at the enemy with a rock when he has a machine gun. I suggest you read the book The Art of War or search Youtube for a video summary of it. Our people are not unified enough for such a war because they are too busy fighting and killing each other. Black on black crime is much higher than cop on black killings yet there are no marches, protests, riots or rallies against black on black crime. And stockpiling guns when the enemy has satellites and drones only makes us more visible on the scope. So for those of you who want to overtly fight the power, please explain to me how you fight and win with rocks against guns, guns against tanks and riots that tear up your own community. WAKE UP!

Recently I wrote an article entitled The Black Woman’s Mouth and Sandra Bland. It was liked by most but blasted by a few ignorant people who thought I was saying bow down and do nothing. The ignorant ones blasted me like Elijah Muhammad Jr. blasted Malcolm X for telling the whole truth. They entirely missed the point. It is not about if you fight back, it is about HOW you fight back. Fighting back to make a point when you are at a huge disadvantage will land you in jail or even dead. But fighting back strategically and yet legally will help you gain ground and minimize risks to yourself, your people and your cause. Thus sometimes brute force is not the solution to brute force. Knowing when to fight, how to fight, where to fight and when not to fight will help you survive. We must stop playing into the enemy’s hands by doing what the enemy has anticipated, provoked and prepared for. Our people must learn how to recognize a trap and avoid it instead of fighting from inside of it. We must respond using intellect instead of reacting based on anger. They are using the media to trigger emotions because when emotions are at play, intellect shuts down and people do things that place themselves at unnecessary risk. And unwise soldiers will endanger all of us as well as the mission. STOP TAKING THE BAIT!!!

I know the art of war and I am a strategist, a man who fights in ways he can win. Knowing the laws, knowing my rights and using the system to win. The very system that was designed to oppress us in the first place. Our people need to turn off the game, the music, the Playstation and the videos. Instead pick up a chess board, a monopoly game or a book. We need to stop fighting within (King family, Jackson family, Bobby Kristina family). If our people do not learn how to battle, we will lose the war. And we won’t even see it coming.
