(ThyBlackMan.com) No one can deny that racism is holding the Black community down – but it’s not just White racism, it’s also the racist attitudes that some Black people have against other Black people. I’ve said this many times before, but I’m going to say it again. Black people are the product of the very same racist environment as White people, so many of the weaker-minded among us are just as racist towards other Black people as any sheet-wearing Hillbilly. I call it “bligotry” – Black-on-Black bigotry.
As a direct result of Bligotry, we refuse to patronize one another’s business efforts, and many Black business owners try to get rich on one sell when more enlightened Black people even try to patronize them. As a result, we can’t come together to get a financial foothold in society. So we’re not going to be able to address the issue of Black upward mobility until we begin to see bligotry for what it really is. And no, bligotry it’s not self-hatred, as many people suggest, because in order to be a self-hating Black person, you have to recognize your Blackness.
.
People who suffer from bligotry don’t hate themselves at all, and neither do they, necessarily, hate other Black people. They simply look upon Black people with disdain, and they think that we’re beneath them as individuals. You’ll often hear them say among themselves things like, “You know how niggas are” – meaning, “those others.”
.
That’s why such people think they’re qualified to tell the Black community what to think. They’ve convinced themselves that they’re an intellectual aberration that an accident of birth caused to be born with Black skin. They know they’re Black, and they love the idea of having “soul” and “rhythm.” They also like being able to lay-claim to people like Ray Charles, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane – but they tend to believe there’s a distinct genetic difference between themselves and those “ignit niggas.”
.
They think they’re what Black people were intended to be, but the average Black person is some sort of inferior genetic mutation. That explains why generally the first thing that comes out of the mouths of people like Allen West, Larry Elder, Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, or a Ben Carson, is an attack on Black people, generally using President Obama as their Black “poster boy.” But let there be no doubt about it, when they attack Barack Obama, they’re just using the president as a symbol to attack us all.
.
That’s why they have such unfathomable political views, because they’re politics consist of two issues – first, self-service, and secondly, to declare to the world that “I’m different from those other Black people that you don’t like; and I don’t blame you for not liking ‘em, because I don’t like ‘em either.” That’s the extent of their political views.
.
But not all Un-niggas are conservative. Some go to the other extreme. People like Tavis Smiley, and Cornel West fall into this group. While they too play into conservatives’ hands, they take a different tact. They embrace what I call the “Moses Syndrome.” These Un-niggas believe that Black people are so stupid that we need them to lead us. But since their primary agenda is exactly the same as the conservative un-nigga – self-service, and to prove to the world that they are more “special” than the average Black person – the minute the Black community’s interest is in conflict with their own, Black people can just stand by to have their throats cut. That explains why one minute Cornel West can be in front of a crowd spewing the most militant Black rhetoric, and the next minute can be sitting on a television panel with the reincarnation of Adolph Hitler, and refer to him as “my dear brother Adolph.”
.
The reason for that is, his primary agenda is not to move the Black community forward. His primary agenda is to be seen, and to gain public admiration and approval. That also explains why in spite of all of his rhetoric with respect to his love for Black people, and in spite of how dire the need for quality educators in the Black community, West has never taught in a Black setting in his entire career. The fact is, it’s personally inconvenient for him. It’s one of those cases where the Black community’s needs are in conflict with his own, so we lose.
.
.
Thus, the Un-niggas don’t see the Black community as one people. They’re segregationists. They divide our community into two segments – sophisticated and intelligent Black people “like themselves” (generally including all light-skinned Black people and ALL beautiful sisters, whether intelligent or not), and those other niggas who are holding them down. So they feel they have every right to use and victimize “those others” to advance themselves to their “rightful” place in society – thus, Tavis Smiley and the Wells Fargo “Ghetto Loan” scam. And unfortunately, far too many Black preachers are among the Un-niggas.
.
Herman Cain described their attitude best when he said, “I’m a brother from another mother.” They tend to think they’re cut from a different clothe than other Black people, and are therefore, superior. That’s why many such people hate President Obama so passionately, because his very presence is a pie in the face of their delusions of grandeur. Their attitude is, “How in the Hell did that nigga get to the White House over me?” And if you listen closely to what they’re actually saying, the message is, “Aw, Obama ain’t all that; he’s just another nigga like you – I’m the one you should be lookin’ up to – I’m the true Un-nigga.”
.
It’s this kind of attitude by some Black people that’s holding us down. They cause division and strife within the Black community.
@Cedric Smith,
Poor Eric doesnt know the difference between effective policy and symbolic policy. Symbolic policy is what you do to appear effective but then you do not allocate the money or people to actually carry out the policy yet you point to the policy when someone asked you “what are you doing?”. Also, 99.9% of the policies that Eric says that Obama signed, Eric doesnt even know the details of the policy just the watered down media summery which coming from liberal media means that it is super watered down. And again, the fact that he has time to sit around researching all this means that he is part of that group that was/is on unemployment for 99 weeks, hence his enthusiasm for a president that has done nothing but provide psychologically damaging handouts to the black community.
Eric,
Nice list but what “specifically” on that list has helped to improve the lives of black people in America?
Disclosing the visitors log? Come on..
Why not add “washing” his hands before dinner to the list..
CD Smith,
it really get’s next to m hen people run their mouth and don’ know what they’re talking about.

Obama Accomplishments
http://pleasecutthecrap.com/obama-accomplishments/
Eric,
I take issue with this statement:
“But let there be no doubt about it, when they attack Barack Obama, they’re just using the president as a symbol to attack us all.”
1. Barack Obama’s background is “nothing” like the background of 99% of black people in America. What percentage of black people were raised by an ultra-liberal white family?
2. Obama has done “nothing” to reach out to the black community in the last seven years, so what is there for blacks who voted for him to defend?
Given the nature of your writings, I am sure you voted for Obama because of your ultra-left-wing views and would have voted for him if he were any color.
But 99% of the blacks that voted for him don’t know his views or cared to know, he was black and that’s all they needed to know. Therefore any criticism of Obama is an attack on their knee-jerk, race-based decision to vote for a black man without question.
think about who helps the most
the people who keep bring out the excuses
uh, we need more money
uh “those guys” are holding you down
more regulations less people work
dems are not the friend of the poor
they use them to stay angry at “those other guys”
white people?
does that have to be included to keep some kind of cred?
people are good or bad
racist or not
politicians and some in the media have to have the racism to keep people angry b/c that
anger keeps them in power
think about that
Excellent article and commentary. For whatever reason we are crossing paths with people throughout the course of our lives. Each person will either have a positive or negative impact on us based on how they intergrate themselves into our daily living. First and foremost we did to have God’s wisdom in learning to recognize what things are valuable and viable to our existence as human beings. While it is quite cool to talk about LOVE, it is another thing to actually practice and embrace its concept. It has been pointed out that our family foundation needs to be firm. Can we truly discuss this topic without getting emotional? Going back to the whole slavery practice, keeping us together as a family was the last intent of this inhumane action. Our people were broken up purposely and our identification of who we were as a people were taken away from us.
To understand where we need to go, we need to understand where we came from. The motherland of Africa is where life itself is said to have begun based on scientific evidence. But if we see how we as African Americans frown up whenever someone of another race reminds us of our heritage, we seem to disown any claim to the truth. Africa was and is still the land of Kings as even Jesus started his life on the continent, not Europe, Australia, India, South America, Asia, or North America. The vast amount of wealth, science, and supreme knowledge of systems that are being discovered even as this response is being typed is mindblowing is say the least. We have got to get to the point where we only embrace the truth in all things and focus on the things that truly make a difference in our lives and the lives of others. We need to systematically identify all of the inaccuracies of information that have been passed down through the years and accepted as fact.
Columbus did not discover America as people were here before he got here. MLK’a life was not randomly taken along with JFK’s as both had to have help from some of the very organizations designed to collect intelligence and monitor the movements of people who are in the spotlight. But we find ourselves being fascinated by Kim K and Justin B and all other BS that is thrown at us for shock value and entertainment purposes to keep our eyes off the prize. When Haiti was rocked with the massive earthquake years ago, would one think that people would concerned themselves with anything else other than staying alive after such a tragic event? Then one sees all of the Red Tape that appears everytime money gets involved, such as Katrina and Sandy. All efforts to assist people get on their feet have some connection to corruption by members of our race as well. Detroit being bankrupt, political scandal in Charlotte, all involving mayorial leaders of our race.
Then switch to entertainment as as called stars spent money on lavish parties designed to boost their egos, and people are still being beaten down by this system we all have to abide by. We have to honestly make choices, as we make continue to claim victimization or we can overcome by taking control of our lives and starting anew without regard to what has been done before. We can not complain about the wolves in sheep’s clothing as there will always be a hunter as long as there is prey. Everyone can not be saved, especially when there is no intent on cooperating with anyone in bringing about any necessary changes. It takes courage to separate oneselves from the normal way of life as we see it on a daily basis. We seem to be content with the Lord will make a way concept, when Jesus said there has to be action as well as hearing. I for one will not waste any more of my time trying to right the wrongs for anyone that has no appreciation of my efforts. Life is hard enough and I try to impart wisdom to those of our youth to enjoy their lives slowly and quit being in a hurry to be grown. They have no idea of the responsibility that goes with the territory. While staying on the sidelines is the best way to stay safe, you will not be ready to play when your number is called.
Too many people have sacrificed so much for us to enjoy all of this progress we have made to let it all be in vain. We can and will do better and the that is the truth. Peace out, Papacool.
Mike,
I completely agree with you.
Look, to put all this to rest you have to know that a trigger is pulled the same way every time, rather it be by white or black. I am and will not be for any side but my family. We as black people can’t say anything until we correct our image as a whole. It sucks and it maybe hard to swallow but most of us are use to the embarrassment till its nothing anymore. I know this might upset my people but who’s stepping up? White people have trash to take out just like we do. The answer is always simple, but all I see and read is a bunch of educated comments that are so true but could be corrected by my teenage daughter. If your room is dirty clean it up!!! Stop putting so much feelings into this and get it done. Can we do it, how, and if ever, when? But you will look pass this and dive deeper into your thoughts and feelings and not even see what I’m trying to say. If a bunch of women in Africa can stop a war by closing there legs to the men coming home, as men we have no excuse. Period!!
We all just need to realize that Wattree’s Pseudologia Fantastica and SCP Disorders are getting worse. A mind is a terribe thing to waste. Tragic!!!
No, Decarter,
You can’t win because you can’t compete with truth. It’s not me that you’re debating – it’s truth that you’re finding it impossible to compete with. So I don’t need loopholes, because truth don’t require loopholes. Truth is simply truth.
.
You see, I make every attempt to follow truth wherever it leads, and regardless to whose ox it gores. So the difference between us (other than the obvious) is I give truth priority over ideology, where you, on the other hand, try to reconfigure truth to fit your preconceived and custom-tailored delusion. That’s why you sound so ridiculous most of the time – you’re constantly trying to put a Ronald MacDonald in three-piece suit and pass him off as an intellectual. It’ll never work.
Hassan,
You cant win with this guy. He will go on a 10 paragraph tirade blaming white people for everything and somewhere in there he will make a 1 sentence statement that “might” suggest he is for black accountability so that as soon as you call him out he can point to that one sentence to always escape from his greater (obvious) blame game.
He build loopholes in his own arguments to escape from any backlash. This is why I call him an “intellectual terrorist”. Nothing but continuous distraction, disassociation, distortion with underlining self hate.
Hassan,
One of he biggest problems that we suffer from in the Black community is that far too many of us fail to read, and you obviously failed to read my comment immediately beneath your own. You’re taking me to task for making the exact same comment that you’re making – except, I do recognize the impact of racism on the Black community. You have to be a fool not to.
.
So try reading before you comment, brother.
Eric,
May I ask how “the white man” is holding the black man down? I have heard that a lot in my life growing up but really never undersood it, kind of like santa claus or the easter bunny that everyone tells you exists but has never been actually seen. And yes, it is true as a race of people we were late getting to the table as it pertained to civil rights and many of the other opportunities awarded citizenship to this country but I’m sorry, I fail to have seen the clandestine distant “white man” that has kept us down. As we speak there are black people risking life and limb from the Caribbean, Africa, central and south America to get here. I believe if there truly exist the systemic and institutional racism that everyone talks about and their futures bleak at the behest of “the white man” that spends every waking hour to seek their demise most would not come and there would not be an immigration problem in this country. Frankly I find the racist white man who controls everything theory to be an anachronism.
Another point I would like to bring up is Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the fact that his name was never mentioned in a single article on any black website, or democratic website other than in passing makes me sick. Up until he went to trial he had received all kinds of recognition from all the liberal leaning organizations and was once called a “pillar of the community”. Meanwhile this filth pulled viable black babies from their mother’s wombs and took surgical forceps and decapitated the infants so he did not have to hear their faint cries. Sad to say but do you know that not one black writer, blogger, columnist, or media person took this monster to task? Instead the racist white conservatives ended up being the altruistic voice for those unborn black children, infact they are pulling their own money together to make their own movie and documentary about this bucket of puss of a man, since mainstream media will not touch it. Again, the same group of white conservatives that you love to lambaste. You see Eric, that is the real issue and what counts, and it is also ironic at the same time, how “the white man” looks out after our women and children more than we do.
James,
I’m sick to death of continuously hearing so-called Black “intellectuals” talking about how the “White Supremacist” system is holding the Black man down? While we should always be at war against any and every kind of supremacy – White, as well as religious, ideological, sex and class – can’t these so-called intellectuals see that if they concede that White Supremacy can hold the Black man down, they’re also conceding that the White man is indeed superior!!!?
.
The complaint is directly analogous to a man going home and telling his wife and family that he can’t feed them because “Willie won’t let me.” Any real man would die before he’d go home and admit that, because he’d immediately recognize that if Willie can prevent him from feeding his family, that means that Willie is more of a man than he is. Thus, every time we say, “the ‘White man’ won’t let me,” we’re admitting cultural impotence, and also reinforcing the idea in our own minds that the White man is indeed superior to us. It shouldn’t take Socrates to see the simple reality in that logic.
.
The White man is not our daddy. We’re the masters of our own fate – or should be, unless we think of ourselves as children – so it’s time for these “intellectuals” to come clean with the Black community. Nobody’s going to GIVE us anything, and that includes justice. The only way that the Black community is going to get its piece of America’s pie is to make ourselves strong enough to demand it, and competent enough to hold on to it.
.
But there’s a reason that these professional poverty pimps won’t tell us that – because they know that once we begin to realize that reality, we will no longer need them as our highly paid envoy to the White man. So instead of telling us what we NEED to hear, they’re telling us what we WANT to hear, because that’s what they get paid to do, to make us feel comfortable in our misery, and in our rapid decline into irrelevance.
.
While I understand that “the White man” has a system in place that is designed to give him the upper hand, all the whining in the world is not going to change that system. How long have we been whining so far, and what has it done for us? It hasn’t done us a damn bit of good, has it? No it hasn’t, and it never will.
.
The fact is, we will never be able to out-whine, out-scream, or out-fight, the White man. The only way we’re going to overcome the denigrating affects of his system is to OUT-THINK him. So what we need to do is shut up and stop telegraphing our every thought, turn off BET, MTV, and ESPN, and then start educating ourselves so we’ll have something of substance to bring to the table. And this is the perfect time to do that.
.
The powers that be are currently embarked upon an agenda designed to dumb-down the entire poor and middle class segment of this society, because the fact is, we’re currently knee-deep in a not so covert class war. What the paleo-conservatives (social bigots) fail to realize – at least, at this point – is that the fiscal conservatives (corporatists) don’t care any more about them than they do Blacks, gays, or women. So while the corporatists are engaged in dumbing the rest of society down, if the Black community had the insight to start quietly embracing education and knowledge, that would serve to level the playing field that we’ve been traditionally complaining about – and what makes this the perfect plan is, knowledge is free. The only thing necessary to obtain it is to want it, and to have sense enough to respect it.
.
The root of the problem that we’ve traditionally had in the Black community is our attitude toward knowledge. As a direct result of our history of slavery, we’ve developed a sort of aversion to knowledge. We tend to equate the pursuit of knowledge with selling out. We see knowledge as part of the White man’s domain, so we look upon Black people who have a love of knowledge with disdain, because we see them as “trying to be White.”
.
The reason for that is simple. During slavery the only Black people we knew who spoke anything close to proper English were the “house niggas,” and many house niggas had a tendency to look down their noses at those of us who worked in the field. As a result of that experience, today, even highly intelligent Black people will often try to hide their intelligence, because, ironically, over the years we’ve developed an attitude where many feel that we have a moral obligation to remain ignorant in order to prove that we take pride in being Black. Think about that. Isn’t ironic that many of us embrace ignorance as a sign of Black pride? That’s why you hear educated young Black people going around saying things like, “What it is?” or “What it be like?” They know that’s improper, but they see it as giving credibility to their pride in being Black.
.
That’s one of the weapons that’s being used against President Obama by many envious Black intellectuals. They’re trying to convince the Black community of the following:
.
“I’m cool – see my long, wooly Afro, how cool I act, and how I can quote Lil’ Wayne when I’m on stage? I’m one of y’all. I just have enough intelligence to speak the White man’s language, so I’m keeping an eye on him for the people. But that Obama, he’s not like us. He don’t have no Afro, he don’t never quote Lil Wayne, and he’s obviously much too intelligent to be trusted as a genuine Black man.”
.
People like those mentioned above, while posing as intellectuals themselves, are reinforcing a negative attitude towards knowledge that we desperately need to get past. And at the same time, they’re promoting a negative stereotype of the Black male that even we embrace. Instead of quoting Lil’ Wayne, they should be on a mission to get the kind of ignorance he’s spewing banned from Black households. But they can’t do that, because in spite of the damage that his message is doing to Black youth, they’re afraid that if they speak out against him too aggressively it might damage their street creds.
.
Now, I want to be clear. I’m not saying that we should go on a mission to destroy the careers of hip hop artists like Lil’ Wayne, because he’s a victim of the system as well. But it is incumbent upon the community to place pressure on artists such as Wayne to modify their message and image so as not to send ten minute commercials around the world with their every video that negatively profiles the Black community.
.
That sort of pressure is nothing new. During the sixties and seventies even James Brown had to cut off his process and start sending the message that “I’m Black and I’m Proud,” and any Black activist, entertainer, or athlete who didn’t actively support the dignity of Black women and the upward mobility of the Black community didn’t get our support.
.
It is essential for all high-profile Black people to represent the Black community in a serious and dignified manner, because most of what we think we know about ourselves comes from the very same sources and stereotypes that informs White Americans about who we are. That’s a serious problem in our community because we’ve allowed ourselves to buy into a negative stereotype of ourselves that’s destroying the self-image of our youth, and our popular culture has not only embraced this negative stereotype as a romantically heroic image, but it’s embellishing upon it. Then we complain about being profiled by society, when we’re actually profiling ourselves! Much of our popular culture is nothing less than an updated version of Stepin’- Fetchism.
.
So instead of benefitting from the luxury of defining ourselves in a positive light like every other culture in America, many Black people have quite literally embraced a form of gross ignorance regarding our own character. Thus, it is imperative that we take the time to stop just long enough to consider who we really are. Then once we become cognizant of that truth – warts and all – we should address our issues, and then teach our young people to embellish our assets rather than our dysfunction.
.
Who Are We As Black People?
.
An excellent example of who we actually are was reflected around the turn of the 20th Century when you could find Black musicians sitting along the side of the road playing washboards, tubs, and anything else they could put together that would make a sound. When people passed them by, including White musicians, they would simply smile, and sometimes even throw them a few pennies for the modest effort and industry that they displayed for even attempting to make real music with such crude instruments.
.
These simple music-makers were looked upon as “quaint” at the time. There was no hostility towards them at all, because they weren’t a threat. After all, they were no threat to the White musicians, since they could never hope to get any real instruction in music. Most of them couldn’t even read their names, so why should anyone ever worry about them learning to read music; and they had to struggle just to get through grade school, so what threat did they pose to White musicians who had access to the great music conservatories of the world?
.
Well, little did the world know that in the very near future those simple little ragtag musicians with their makeshift instruments would develop into some of the greatest musicians the world has ever known, and they would contribute one of the most important, and harmonically complex, forms of music to the world in the history of all mankind – modern jazz, and as an offshoot, Big-City Blues, R & B, Rock & Roll, and literally, everything that most people think of as music today.
.
Few knew at the time that one day Universities, musicologists, and music conservatories all over the world would struggle to understand the complexity of their musical genius, and even fewer could have guessed that many of these “quaint” musicians would someday become world renowned, and synonymous with their respective instruments–Louis Armstrong, Jellyroll Morton, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane, just to mention a few.
.
What we’ve got to recognize and absorb as a community is that creativity is not restricted to just music. The reason that the creative genius of Black people has been reflected more in music than in business, science, or technology is because it was an area where we didn’t have to depend on the approval of others, and more importantly, we were rewarded in the community for its development. We’ve also got to recognize, as any scientist who studies cognition well knows, that creativity is not stagnant – it has associative properties that allow it to be transferred from one endeavor to another. Thus, as Barack Obama is clearly demonstrating, Black people have much more to offer the world than a twelve bar blues.
.
The Pursuit of Excellence is the Key to Black Viability
.
So today the Black community is in a similar situation as those early musicians were in their day, but this time we have the advantage of not having to sit on the side of the road. We have a supportive Black man in the White House, an economic environment that’s thirsting for innovation, creativity, and new ideas, and no one to hold us back but ourselves. Therefore, all that’s left for us to do now is to recognize our potential as a people, shed all of the defensive excuses and bad habits that were a part of the old paradigm, and get to work.
.
And our very first task should be to reassess and rid ourselves of the negative cultural mores that we’ve developed over the past hundred years or so. That involves discarding, and refusing to reward or romanticize the image of the Black man as an urban predator – that’s what directly contributed to the racist attitude that the brutal murder of an innocent Black child constituted a public service.
.
Mass ignorance is at the very root of our problem. How can we possibly expect to raise a well adjusted generation of young people when they’re being sired by idiots running around in unlaced tennis shoes, wearing baseball caps sideways, and whose most heartfelt ambition is to be looked up to as serial abusers of Black women (the very womb of our culture) and successful gangsters? It can’t be done. This is the real world. We can’t base a culture on trying to relive the life of Al Capone. It’s time to grow up. So we’ve got to stop rewarding such behavior, and make that a community effort.
.
When I was a kid my grandfather use to tell me, “All I want from this whole damn nation is a pretty little wife and a good foundation.” I didn’t realize it at the time, but he was relating the key to life to me in that one little lyric – the foundation of happiness and success starts with a solid family.
.
So we need to start with our girls in order to get the attention of our young men. We’ve got to start teaching our young girls from birth that young men who assume the gangster image are bad news, and we’ve got to keep such images out of our homes. We must also create an environment where if BET wants to continue to enter our homes, its call sign will have to be changed to mean Black Excellence Television.
.
In addition, we’ve got to demand more responsibility from our other community institutions. We’ve got to make it clear to our churches that if they expect to take collection money out of our community on Sunday, they’d better be prepared to put some kind of service back into the community during the week. Our churches should be serving as low-cost childcare facilities for working mothers during the week. They could then employ unemployed mothers, and at the same time hold classes in child rearing. So the community should send the following message to our preachers -“Don’t just preach me a sermon, live me one.”
.
And we should also encourage the promoters of these awards shows, like the Soul Train Awards, to be more responsive to the needs of our community. We don’t need yet another parade of swaggering millionaires staggering up on stage, snatching microphones, and acting a fool. We need to start placing more emphasis on honoring young scholars, educators, and the people in the community who are helping to move Black people forward. That isn’t to say that celebrities and entertainment shouldn’t be involved in the shows (I’m a musician myself), but they should be the “help,” not the honorees. After all, if all our young people ever see the community honoring are singers, movies stars, and athletes, why should they aspire to be anything else?
.
The only hope for the Black man is to make knowledge, the new “soul” of our culture, because God made birds to fly, fish to swim, and man to think. Thus, it’s no longer enough to simply say “I’m Black and I’m proud.” It is long past time for us to start investing in our excellence, so we’ll have something to be proud of.
.
The axiom that “Knowledge is power” is no myth. The truth of that assertion has been repeatedly proven throughout human history. For that reason, with very few exceptions, it has been the most knowledgeable who have ultimately prevailed, not the coolest. Thus, those who simply continue to advocate what’s been repeatedly tried and has failed miserably – attempting to whine, complain, and protest their way to equality – are on a fool’s errand. It’s time to give the novel and completely obvious a try – the stability of excellence, and the strength of knowledge.
.
All of us have a right to voice our opinion. But you should also prepare yourself for the blow back!
What we have to do as intelligent practical men and women is not ignore the conditions around us. Ebony’s magazine in its May issue has begun to shine light on the horror conditions of Black America. It has placed the black unemployment rate at 20%. Even Ebony which comes across as an Obama patron and supporter is not turning its backs on the living conditions of its readers. Under your definition, anyone who stands up for the rights of blacks are in someway not being true to his race. I abhor such a position as Martin Luther King did and he says so in his “Letter From Birmingham Jail”…
“I am in Birmingham because injustice is here …I am cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities and states. I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial “outside agitator” idea. Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider …”
These men that you speak about in the most unkindly way did not cause the poverty in this country and the 20% black unemployment rate, nor did Mr. Obama. However Mr. Obama sought and was elected to the Presidency of this country where he has an obligation to address these issues. Is it wrong for these men and others to stand and say in an affirmative way that he is not doing an adequate job? Martin Luther King did not think so, and now Ebony magazine is weighting in and bringing it readers along. Don’t get me wrong, you have every right to voice your opinion but that’s all it is, an opinion. However, the reality of the facts of our economic condition will in the coming weeks and months become way more relevant than any opinion you and I have. The reason why, as we have seen in the past, people act out base on their oppressive economic conditions. If these oppressive conditions persist and get worst, even Mr. Obama will not escape the people’s reaction. God’s speed to you and yours. http://www.Jobcreationnow.com
obama is the perfect example of this….no president has done more damage to Black America, than obama….just look at his “My Brothers Keeper”….it’s a pure joke…look at what he has done to the HBCU’s.
Hassan, you speak truth!
Just like you can train a dog to stay in the yard even when the gate is wide open, you can train a simple minded individual like Eric to be close minded despite being surrounded by so much evidence that goes contradictory to his unquestionable beliefs.
For some reason Eric thought I read his gibberish above. No I didnt read it, as soon as I scrolled to the bottom and seen your name I knew it wasnt worth reading. Oh, and not because I am closed minded but because in the past I gave you a chance but after being hit in the head with so many bombs of intellectual terrorism…I have resigned from reading anything you post.
no offense eric, but the way you carry on, lack of objectiveness, and blind support for the extreme left, you may not admit it, but i would almost bet anything that you are receiving some kind of stipend from the government, service connection to your past military service or both.
black people just like any other racial group are made up of various ethnicity, nationalities, and perspectives. your intellectual depth does not allow you to realize that simply because you are black does not entitle you to delegate the thoughts, views, or desires of other blacks people. victimhood and the democrats have done nothing for us in the forty years that they have had our vote and blind loyalty. all we have are single parent homes, prison, stds, abortion, and a culture that for the most part is morally bankrupt, because we allow hollywood and other media that is run and controlled by zionist filth to dictate to us what BLACK IS.
spin it any way you want with your bigots, bligots, niggas, uniggas, and etc. but it is what it is…. if or it be what it be…. i have to admit though, the more i see the garbage that is written on here and pushed on this website i find myself more inclined with the extreme right.
Well, Dcarter,
Believe it or not , lot of people like what I have to say. That’s why I don’t require a 9 to 5. As matter of fact, you must see something n it, because only a fool would return over and over again to read crap. Are you a fool? Of course, I sure you’re going to comeback with some inane response like, “I just need something to laugh at.” But that’s Bullshit. Are you one of the “un-niggas?” Naw, You’re probably just an “Un-nigga” wannabe.
Man..dude, get a job! A real job. There isn’t any way in the world you have a full time job and posting all your “self-ascribed” truth all day everyday. I don’t want any of my tax dollars paying for you to sit home writing this crap all day everyday.
