(ThyBlackMan.com) Barely over a month into 2014, Terrell Owens’ messy situation has crossed over into the new year. Despite having a very big fall in the eye of the public, Terrell has continued to fight for happiness. He married Rachel Snider in a small courthouse ceremony on January 23.

Surprisingly, his wife is a postal worker. It’s the type of bizarre pairing that one expects to go over really well or just horribly wrong. Sincterrellowensfiance-2014e it seems like something T.O. certainly wouldn’t have considered in his heyday, it might be crazy enough to work. After all, showing signs of doing the opposite of what rich Terrell would have done, has to be going in the right direction, right? Well, just when things seemed to be more promising for the former NFL player, it has been reported that his wife promptly filed for divorce within just two weeks of getting married, citing the belief that her husband married her for money and only “used her so he could get a loan for a $2 million home in Sherman Oaks, CA.”

Looks like Terrell Owens is up to his old tricks, chasing an oasis in the dry desert. If this is true, the former sports player has learned absolutely nothing. Instead of taking the opportunity to drastically overhaul his lifestyle, he tries to manipulate someone else into funding the lifestyle he feels that he deserves. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t pick someone gullible enough, as Rachel isn’t having it. Back to square one, it is.

50 Shades of Fail

We saw many things for Terrell Owens, but this stunt was certainly not one of them. Until Terrell Owens looks within, he will never solve the mystery to the puzzle that is life. He’s pursing all the wrong things in life. The last thing Terrell should be entertaining is a million dollar anything given his mountain of debt. While relationships can certainly be beneficial, it seems that Mr. Owens has a lot to learn since he has four children, multiple failed relationships, and a new divorce under his belt. For the average person, these circumstances would not come as costly, but in T.O.’s case, these turn into five to seven figure situations. Until he can compute this, it’s probably best that he isolates himself and reflects alone. After all, the biggest task he has is solving his financial situation and brainstorming a new way to bring in more income; it’s not finding the next potential victim with good credit, steady employment, and a promising retirement.

Furthermore, if one is going to go down this unfortunate path of swindling and deceiving someone, then at least go big or go home. Sure, the T.O. brand is history in the states, but with whatever remaining funds that are left, there’s always the option of attending the wealthy elite parties across the globe in hopes of snagging a rich, gullible woman. That way the gravy train can continue, and then there’s the possibility of internalizing a wealth accrual mindset. Ever heard of Jay Electronica and Kate Rothschild? If you have million dollar taste, you at the very least have to generate million dollar funds or at least find someone who already does. Do not resort to people who only have access to million dollar credit, as it’s certainly a joyride that will come to an end.

Credit is just that: credit. If you cannot pay it back with additional interest, then it serves no purpose to utilize it. Furthermore, there should be leverage in utilizing credit in the first place. Mark Zuckerberg went to multiple investors to secure funding for Facebook in its early years, but it wasn’t money that was used to buy a million dollar home or fancy offices. It was for buying talent and growing the business. Using debt to obtain a home or grow a business are two practical uses for using debt. While Terrell Owens must keep a roof over his head, he is fiscally no longer entitled to a mansion in the Hills. At this point, it boils down to much less palace, much more favela. Perhaps a trip is in order to Rio de Janeiro? It’s a tough pill to swallow, but such is the life you’ve built for yourself: 10 years living life like a King, the remaining years as a pauper.

At 40 years old, certain lessons should be sticking. How many times we have to go down this path? Only Terrell Owens knows. Perhaps his biggest problem is that he doesn’t know. Either way, it’s do or die time. People aren’t sticking around to clean up his mess. Rachel Snider certainly made herself clear. Onwards and upwards, or just onwards? While it’s too late to alter the past, it’s not too late to stop digging a bigger ditch. Hope Rachel has a prenup. Best of luck, T.O.
