At the New York premiere of “2 Guns” Denzel Washington’s lovely wife was asked by Access Hollywood if the rumors surrounding Denzel’s marriage proposal were true. Paulette answered yes that her hubby had to propose twice before she said yes.

Denzel: “Twice! It was three times?”
Pauletta: “It was three times. I know with age sometimes things [go], the mind.”
Denzel: “Why was it twice? Why would I have to ask again?”
Pauletta: “Because I said no.”
Denzel: “You heard it here first. She turned me down, she said no. And since it was three times, that means she turned me down twice.”
Actor Denzel Washington and his wife Pauletta have one of the longest lasting marriages in Hollywood. Their thirty years of marriage is awesome by today’s standards, but definitely considered a milestone by Hollywood’s.
Even before making it big Pauletta has been along Denzel’s side since 1983 when she said “I do”. Denzel Washington made his first big screen appearance in Carbon Copy. Through the 1980s, he has worked in both movies and television. His role as Dr. Chandler in NBC’s hit medical series “St. Elsewhere”, a role that he would play for 6 years propelled him into Hollywood status.
Denzel Washington has gone on to perform in dozens of other movies. “The Pelican Brief”, “The Preacher’s Wife” with the late Whitney Houston, “Courage Under Fire” and the unforgettable “Malcolm X”. Denzel Washington has also displayed his directing skills in the theatrical films Antwone Fisher and The Great Debaters.
Now with the opening of his new film “2 Guns” and four children later she’s still his ride or die chick. We are all familiar with Denzel Washington’s acting skills, which are normally serious. However, Washington reveals a different side to his persona in his latest film “2 Guns”.
“2 Guns,” is about Washington and Wahlberg who are both undercover lawmen trying to catch a drug kingpin. DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and naval intelligence officer Michael “Stig” Stigman find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. While fleeing neither are aware that the other was an undercover agent.
“2 Guns” starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg was financed for $61 million and is slated to make at least $30 million during this weekend’s debut, according to pre-released audience surveys. Hopefully Denzel Washington’s popularity will surely drive the box office numbers needed to make “2 Guns” a success.
