(ThyBlackMan.com) Well as all of the the Jay Z fans and groupies know Jay Z has a new album slated to hit the market. The rapper’s new project is called Magna Carta…Holy Grail. Hmmm now I’ve never been all into the Illiunmaiti conspiracy but with a title like that I’m beinning to wonder.
Well anyhow back to what I really want to discuss. Jay Z’s new album the Magna Carta…Holy Grail. Is it all the hype that it was built up to be? Will he have another number chart topper? Will it bust Billboard wide open or will it like a rocket fizz out before landing and flop? According to music critics it
ain’t all that.
One resource describes Magna Carta, Holy Grail is as a data collection exercise disguised as a smartphone app capable of delivering a bundle of mediocre rap songs to your mobile device. Is this simply another way of making Jay Z stupid rich.
Samsung purchased a million copies of “Magna Carta” in advance. Thanks to Samsung app users would have the opportunity to listen to the album five days before its release by subscribing to the app. Here’s the kicker users would be required to share access to their social media accounts, their GPS location and more. This sounds more like Candy Crush to me.
With all of the hype over the Samsung and album duo music critics say it’s has failed to live up to all of the hype. Some are describing it as one of Jay Z’s worst albums ever. As an artist this may bother but as a business man I’m sure he’s fine. Especially with $20 million deal between Samsung and his company Roc Nation, since Samsung has become synonyomous with Magna Carta Holy Grail.
