(ThyBlackMan.com) “I hear you loud and clear, Barack Obama. You don’t represent the country that I grew up with. And your values is [sic] not going to save us. We’re going to take this country back for the Lord. We’re going to try to take this country back for conservatism. And we’re not going to allow minorities to run roughshod over what you people believe in!”
.
Many businesses and corporations, including the U.S. Postal Service, have recognized, and taken advantage of this fact for many years. They’ll take Black people, with a particular profile that they’ve come to recognize, and make them supervisors and mid-level managers, knowing that they’ll be prone to treat other Black people like dogs. These people will harass, intimidate, and fire other Black people faster than they will any other racial or ethnic group. Thereafter, it’s next to impossible for the victims of their abuse to file discrimination suits against the employer because the abuser is of the same race. I recently had the distasteful experience of having a discussion with a person who fits this profile, and the resulting rant is a graphic reflection of their attitude:
.
“Since black women are always hollering about black men be responsible and all that I say the same thing. This dude was on tv last week, interviewed on FOX, where he came out of court for child-support case for 22 kids he has. 17 baby mamas bruh. You think I’m mad at the dude? Nope. Not at all. Why? Because a man like that couldn’t exist without sorry females assisting him . . . To give dishonorable females like these the same respect we give Clare Huxtable is to lessen the word ‘mother . . . Black women comes up short, she’s a victim. These women, literally, have made a living off of being professional victims . . . Well it’s not funny when that FICA, MEDICAID, MEDICARE, etc. is taken out of your paycheck to help subsidize these females is it? You work hard while a female comes to WALMART with two shopping carts full of groceries she gets for just laying on her back and squirting out a child who is more likely to turn out to be either a stripper, a criminal, or gay for both genders.
.
“This is how I know the negro doesn’t hate whitey like he claims, because he couldn’t take me in power. If I was in power, I would never let these genetic anomalies (monkey negroes) get away with this nonsense they get away with. If I was in charge, I’d send tanks down the streets of Chicago and show these “soldiers” what a war really is. Since they like to shoot people with no regard for human life, I’d send special forces in their and give them the war they love so much. And I wouldn’t stop until I laid to rest every last one of these monkeys and then for desert, I’d finish with the sorry mothers who gave birth to them. If my mama was a hoe, she wouldn’t get a free pass either. And Barack is doing what he should be doing for you worthless niggas: absolutely nothing. And I’d have Rudy Giuliani run the entire operation. Oh yes there is a clear divide and I do believe in a class system in which niggas with the mentality of so-called “scholars” serve me like slaves. I would be on you niggas ass so hard that you would beg the white man to bring back slavery.
.
So you right. Have disdain. Because my kind loathes your kind and be very clear moving forward: we don’t have the same agenda. I support nature and nature dictates the weakest ones don’t survive so I’ll sit back and let nature run its course. It’s quite clear we won’t have to worry about these underachieving monkeys for too much longer. A monkey is not my people, although it seems we live on the planet of the apes. Nigga so freaking dumb, he thinks we put all black women in the same category. Condoleeza Rice is not the same as Shamika with 5 baby daddies. Mae Jemison is not the same as the next hoodrat with 6 baby daddies and no they get no mercy. I lived in projects before. I know what it’s like to be hungry. But do you see me making excuses? Hell no. So no. I ain’t trying to hear that BS you talking. While you make excuses for these hoes, maybe I’ll hire these same hoes to work in my strip club and let’s see what man they follow: me or you. I guarantee it won’t be you. In the words of Triple Six Mafia “Don’t save her she don’t wanna be saved.” lol give this nigga a tampon it’s his time of the month.”
.
As distasteful as it was, this is one of the most enlightening discussions that I have ever been involved in, and I intend to use excerpts from it extensively in the future. It clearly shows why 90% of all Black people hate Black conservatives, and why such people are toxic to the Black community. These people are so culturally dysfunctional that some in the community actually consider it a birth defect – and Herman Cain seemed to have validated that suspicion in his declaration that he was “A brother from another mother,” in his delusional belief that he represented something other than a manipulated pawn to the Koch brothers.
.
How can Black conservatives have any self-respect when they look upon Black women, the very womb of the Black culture, as irresponsible bitches and whoes? If you consider your own mother part of a culture of bitches and whores, what does that make you? That represents the epitome of self-hatred. It clearly demonstrates that their minds has been completely overwhelmed by racist attitudes towards their own people, and harbor an abiding need for acceptance by those who view them with amused disgust. In fact, these people tend to be much more racist toward Black people than the vast majority of White people. How do I know that? It’s simple – if most White people were as hostile towards Blacks as the individual above, Herman Cain, Allen West, or Clarence Thomas, Obama certainly wouldn’t have been elected president – twice.
.
So I don’t feel a bit of guilt with respect to my disgust towards Black conservatives. With most things I feel the need to be constantly reassess my attitude for objectivity. But when it comes to Black conservatives, like most Black people, I’ve always looked upon them with disgust, and I’m sure I always will – and I’m quite comfortable with that.
.
Up until now, however, my attitude has always been generalized and unfocused. I simply saw them as brainwashed, or self-serving, fools. But the discussion above has brought clarity to my attitude. It’s validated my belief that the majority of these people are not only self-hating bigots towards your own people, but they’re idiots as well.
.
Thus, for the very first time I understand how these people can support a Black-hating agenda masquerading as “fiscal responsibility.” The vast majority of them are simply ignorant – period. A perfect example of that is Bishop E.W. Jackson, a clergyman turned politician who’s running as a Republican for Lt. Governor of Virginia. Now, this guy is supposed to be a learned man of God, yet, he misspelled one of the most important words in Christianity – “Commandments” – and not simply as a typo in the inside of his book, BUT ON THE FRONT COVER! And one of his Black conservative colleagues cosigned on Pat Robertson’s contention that the Earthquake in Haiti was the result of the Haitian people making a deal with the Devil!
.
So now, if there ever was, there’s no longer any doubt in my mind, the vast majority of these Black conservatives are charter members of their own version of the KKK- the Klueless Klux Klan.
Robert,
.
So what has Obama done for the Poor, you ask? He’s done the following – and this is just the short list:
1). He stopped the nation from hemorrhaging 800,000 jobs A MONTH under Bush.
.
2). He stopped the nation from going into a second Great Depression.
.
3). He saved the American auto industry.
4). He was the first president to successfully passed healthcare reform in 70 years.
.
5). He created more jobs in 27 months than Bush did in 7 years.
.
6). While he was doing all of the things above, he also managed to get Osama Bin Laden in his spare time – and if you remember, Bush spent 7 years, upward of a TRILLION dollars, and killed or maimed thousands of American troops in that effort. But Obama managed to pull it off with two helicopters and a handful of men.
.
Bush and Cheney’s incompetence and greed in this matter destroyed and/or disrupted thousands of poor and middle class families, while the rich had to look at their ever-swelling war profits just to know that the nation was involved in conflict. The war had no impact on them at all, because the rich no longer send their kids to die for this country – that’s a job for poor folks – and now they want us to pay for the war as well.
.
Thus, Bush and Cheney’s mismanagement of both the economy, and the war in Iraq, played a major role in what got us in this economic quagmire in the first place. Yet, we didn’t hear a word from critics like Tavis Smiley and Cornel West during George W. Bush’s fiasco. Where were these two defenders of the poor and middle class then?
.
But Obama didn’t complain about that at all – he didn’t have time to complain, and he didn’t have time to respond to the ridiculous charges of envious Black-on-Black racists. The president is an adult, with adult concerns, so he was, and is, much too busy cleaning up the mess left behind by the relative ear-splitting silence during the Bush administration of those who have suddenly discovered a newfound concern for “the least of these.”
.
So while others were plotting, fighting for attention, and whining, President Obama was busy doing following:
.
– Spur Job Creation: “In addition, to help those most affected by the recession, the Budget will extend emergency assistance to seniors and families with children, Unemployment Insurance benefits, COBRA tax credits, and relief to states and localities to prevent layoffs.” .
– Reforming the Job Training System: “The Budget calls for reform of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), which supports almost 3,000 One-Stop Career Centers nationwide and a range of other services. With $6 billion for WIA at DOL—and an additional $4 billion in the Department of Education—the Budget calls for reforms to improve WIA.” Strengthen Anti-Discrimination Enforcement: “To strengthen civil rights enforcement against racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, religious, and gender discrimination, the Budget includes an 11 percent increase in funding to the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. This investment will help the Division handle implementation of a historic new hate crimes law. The Budget also provides an $18 million, or 5 percent increase, for the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission (EEOC), which is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee. This increased investment will allow for more staff to reduce the backlog of private sector charges.”
.
– Support Historically Black Colleges and Universities: “The Budget proposes $642 million, an increase of $30 million over the 2010 level, to support Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), including Historically Black Colleges and Universities. In addition to this discretionary funding increase for MSIs, the Administration supports legislation passed by the House of Representatives and pending in the Senate that would provide $2.55 billion in mandatory funding to MSIs over 10 years.”
.
– Help Families Struggling with Child Care Costs: “The Budget will nearly double the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit for middle-class families making under $85,000 a year by increasing their credit rate from 20 percent to 35 percent of child care expenses. Nearly all eligible families making under $115,000 a year would see a larger credit. The Budget also provides critical support for young children and their families by building on historic increases provided in ARRA. The Budget provides an additional $989 million for Head Start and Early Head Start to continue to serve 64,000 additional children and families funded in ARRA.”
.
– Reform Elementary and Secondary School Funding: “The Budget supports the Administration’s new vision for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) … The Budget provides a $3 billion increase in funding for K-12 education programs authorized in the ESEA, including $900 million for School Turnaround Grants, and the Administration will request up to $1 billion in additional funding if Congress successfully completes ESEA reauthorization.”
.
– Increase Pell Grants: “The Recovery Act and 2009 appropriations bill increased the maximum Pell Grant by more than $600 for a total award of $5,350. The Budget proposes to make that increase permanent and put them on a path to grow faster than inflation every year, increasing the maximum grant by $1,000, expanding eligibility, and nearly doubling the total amount of Pell grants since the President took office.”
.
– Help Relieve Student Loan Debt: “To help graduates overburdened with student loan debt, the Administration will strengthen income-based repayment plans for student loans by reducing monthly payments and shortening the repayment period so that overburdened borrowers will pay only 10 percent of their discretionary income in loan repayments and can have their remaining debt forgiven after 20 years. Those in public service careers will have their debt forgiven after 10 years. The Budget also expands low-cost Perkins student loans.”
.
– Prevent Hunger and Improve Nutrition: “The President’s Budget provides $8.1 billion for discretionary nutrition program supports, which is a $400 million increase over the 2010 enacted level. Funding supports 10 million participants in the WIC program, which is critical to the health of pregnant women, new mothers, and their infants. The Budget also supports a strong Child Nutrition and WIC reauthorization package that will ensure that school children have access to healthy meals and to help fulfill the President’s pledge to end childhood hunger. The President continues to support the nutrition provisions incorporated in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).”
.
– Revitalize Distressed Urban Neighborhoods: “The Budget includes $250 million for HUD’s Choice Neighborhoods program, which will target neighborhoods anchored by distressed public or assisted housing with physical and social revitalization grounded in promising, measurable, and evidence-based strategies.”
.
– Increase Funding for the Housing Choice Voucher Program: “The President’s Budget requests $19.6 billion for the Housing Choice Voucher program to help more than two million extremely low income families with rental assistance to live in decent housing in neighborhoods of their choice. The Budget continues funding for all existing mainstream vouchers and provides flexibility to support new vouchers that were leased and $85 million in special purpose vouchers for homeless families with children, families at risk of homelessness, and persons with disabilities.”
.
– Preserve 1.3 Million Affordable Rental Units through Project-Based Rental Assistance Program: “The President’s Budget provides $9.4 billion for the Project-Based Rental Assistance program to preserve approximately 1.3 million affordable rental units through increased funding for contracts with private owners of multifamily properties. This critical investment will help low-income households to obtain or retain decent, safe and sanitary housing. In addition, the Administration requests $350 million to fund the first phase of this multi-year initiative to regionalize the Housing Choice Voucher program and convert Public Housing to project-based vouchers.”
.
– Promote Affordable Homeownership and Protect Families from Mortgage Fraud: “The Budget requests $88 million for HUD to support homeownership and foreclosure prevention through Housing Counseling and $20 million to combat mortgage fraud. In addition, the Budget requests $250 million for the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation’s (NRC) grant and training programs. Of the $250 million, $113 million is requested for foreclosure prevention activities, a $48 million increase (74 percent) over 2010.”
.
– Fight Gang Violence and Violent Crime: “The Budget provides $112 million for place-based, evidence supported, initiatives to combat violence in local communities, including $25 million for the Community-Based Violence Prevention Initiatives that aim to reduce gun and other violence among youth gangs in cities and towns across the country, and $37 million for the Attorney General’s Children Exposed to Violence Initiative, which targets the youth most affected by violence and most susceptible to propagating it as they grow up.”
.
– Expand Prisoner Re-entry Programs: “The Budget provides $144 million for Department Justice prisoner re-entry programs, including an additional $100 million for the Office of Justice Programs to administer grant programs authorized by the Second Chance Act and $30 million for residential substance abuse treatment programs in State and local prisons and jails. In addition, the Budget provides $98 million for Department of Labor programs that provide employment-centered services to adult and youth ex-offenders and at-risk youth..”
.
– Fully Fund the Community Development Block Grant Program: “The Budget provides $4.4 billion for the Community Development Fund, including $3.99 billion for the Community Development Block Grant Formula Program (CDBG), and $150 million for the creation of a Catalytic Investment Competition Grants program. The new Catalytic Competition Grants program uses the authorities of CDBG, but will provide capital to bring innovative economic development projects to scale to make a measurable impact.” . . . MORE

Deeann,
Much of what you said is very true, but as I’m sure you know, most words have several definitions listed in the dictionary. “Existential,” for example, can refer to a school of philosophy, or it can refer to the state of existence. Thus, being a “conservative” drinker is much different from being politically conservative. So we must be careful not to conflate the two. Conflation is one of the major ploys utilized be the GOP to mislead the people. An example of that is, every time they use the term “criminals” that’s political code for Black men, and every time they use the phrase “welfare queen” that’s code for Black women. Then, if you call them on it they’ll accuse you of “playing the race card.”
.
So we must never lose sight of the fact that being politically conservative DOES NOT MEAN either economically or socially responsible. It means the following:
.
.
CONSERVATIVE: Con-ser-va-tive, noun
Disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change. Which in turn means, MORE OF THE SAME – or BAD NEWS FOR BLACK PEOPLE.
TO BR. ERIC.YOUR latest comment’s reveal much about how black liberal’s think.YOU stated[SO THE ONLY WAY THAT OBAMA CAN ANY MONEY TO ASSIST THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS TO GET THE REPUBLICAN HOUSE TO GO ALONG WITH HIM].ARE these the same REPUBLICAN’S that you spend most of your time bashing; calling them evil and racist;why would they help us.AND besides he did’nt need them to help the other member’s of your coalition GAY’S and HISPANIC’S.ANOTHER statement you made was really disturbing[THESE GENTLEMEN KNOW FULL WELL THAT IF OBAMA RUN’S AROUND BRAGGING ABOUT WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY;THE REPUBLICAN’S ARE GOING TO USE THAT AS LEVERAGE TO TEAR HIS COALITION APART.THEY WOULD TELL WOMEN;GAY’S AND HISPANIC’S AND EVERYONE ELSE IN AMERICA ;THAT OBAMA DOES’NT CARE ABOUT THEM ALL HE WANT’S TO DO IS HELP HIS PEOPLE].WITH all due respect my brother if GAY’S and HISPANIC’S would find offense in the first black president attending to the need’s of his people well let me be the first one to tell them to kiss my black ass;he’s supposed to help us.IT is nothing inherently wrong with coalition politic’s;but when you join from a position of need than you are automatically in the weaker position.YOU did’nt assemble this coalition ;you did;nt write policie’s it’s as though you jumped in the passenger seat of someone’s car ;you go where that car take’s you.
Obama closes the Minority Business Development Agency and stimulates WallStreet to the tune of 40 billion monthly. Good trade off for someone who has the little guy’s back.
I have looked at this article for three days, and also all the comments. Like a friend of mine once said, “there’s just something missing…”
There is a nugget of Black conservatism that should not be discounted — there are some traditions that ought to be restored. Strong families and unified communities — would that we were doing better in conserving those! A passion for building one’s own wealth instead of depending entirely on a job or benefits given by someone else at their pleasure — would that we were doing better in conserving that mindset and passing it on to the coming generations! A dedication to not spending everything that comes to hand for personal gratification but investing in those things that build family and community into the future — would that we were doing better in conserving that and passing it on! To the extent that I am for preserving those traditions that gave us the base on which we who have time and equipment to post on here in relative comfort stand, I understand the attraction for some Black people to conservatism in the general sense, which at least on the surface shares many of the same values.
On the other hand, I also know that without assistance from government (as well as from private individuals along the Underground Railroad and like-minded pursuits) in different periods of Black history in this country, we would not be enjoying the opportunities we have today, and government assistance of many types in smoothed some of the transition to relative prosperity for many. Some of that smoothing still needs to take place — the costs of food, shelter, education, and healthcare, absent the help traditionally provided by family and community, would simply be out of reach for many Black people without help from the government to this day. The facts on the ground require that help come from somewhere — to the extent that some conservatives of other colors have always begrudged us the safety nets for our own survival (from lynching individual successful Blacks to burning Black Wall Street to bombing churches to trying to cut out any and all government programs that might specifically benefit Black people in any way), I can understand why many Black people are completely against conservatism in the general sense.
However, there is another fact: our failure to be conservative when it came to the values and practices that preserved us into the 20th Century even under the worst circumstances is the exact failure that has caused many of us to be dependent, long-term, on programs advocated for by liberals reacting to clear challenges for poor people, programs hated by most conservatives. Thus there is something to be said for Black people being conservative about certain things, without necessarily meaning that ascribing to the whole of conservatism in a general sense is the best way to achieve that end.
WHY BLACK CONSERVATIVES ARE A LIABILITY
.
Liberal: Lib-er-al noun
A political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties.
.
Conservative: Con-ser-va-tive noun
Disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
.
Asset: As-set noun
A useful and desirable thing or quality. = INTELLIGENCE.
.
Liability: Li-a-bil-i-ty noun
Something disadvantageous. = BLACK CONSERVATIVES.
Robert,
Tavis Smiley, Cornel West, and Boyce Watkins are going out of their way NOT to tell the Black community that the United States Constitution gives sole control of spending to the United States House of Representatives, which is controlled by the Republicans. So the only way that President Obama can spend any money to assist the Black community is to get the Republican House to go along with him.
.
That’s why it’s so important for the president to hold together a coalition of Blacks, women, gays, Hispanics, and every other segment of the American population. He needs ALL of us to place pressure on the Republicans to loosen the purse strings in order for him to get anything done. So anytime you hear Tavis, West, or Watkins pointing their finger at what President Obama is doing for any other segment of the population, they’re doing you a disservice.
.
Here’s how politics works – you support me when I need you, and I’ll support you when you need me. So whenever President Obama does anything for other segments of the population, he’s building up political capital so he can help you. But, he doesn’t discuss what he’s doing for the Black community for a very good reason – as Cornel says himself (when it’s convenient), “Race Matters.”
.
These gentlemen know full well that if President Obama runs around bragging about what he’s doing for the Black community, the Republicans are going to use that as leverage to tear his coalition apart. They would tell women, gays, Hispanics, and everyone else in America that Obama doesn’t care about them, all he wants to do is help his own people, and that message hurts the Black community. Don’t these so-called intellectuals recognize that? If they don’t, they’re dumb. If they do, that means that they’re purposely trying to mislead you. The question then, is why?
So the fact is, when people like Tavis, West, and Watkins run around telling you that the proof that President Obama is not working for you is that he refuses to throw his fist in the air, these people are working against you, not for you – and they know it. You see, their primary agenda is NOT about helping the Black community. Their agenda is about tearing President Obama down, and that hurts you.
TO bro ERIC thank you for your reply.THE point I am trying to make is ;it is nothing inherently wrong with being a IDEOLOG.AS long as you are the author of the ideology.BECAUSE your own ideology will fit you like your shoe’s; however when you take on a ideology that you did not originate your interest is not taken into account in the formulation of policy.YOU of all people should see this after 5 years of your coalition in the seat of power.AFTER 5 years we black AMERICAN’S have nothing to show for helping to elect the first black president.IF you had your own ideology you would never enter into a coalition unless your idea’s;interest and demand’s were met.IF you do anything else you will just wind up a cheerleader for other people’ interest.
Robert,
There’s a big difference between being an ideologue and being engaged in a struggle against the domestic enemy of the United States. Were the German people who fought against Nazism ideologues?
“An efficient thinker gives truth priority over ideology, while ideologues give ideology priority over truth.” – Eric L. Wattree
Hmm,
Thinking in lockstep is not a virtue. the fact that liberals often disagree on issues clearly demonstrates that they tend to be independent thinkers, as opposed to being programmed to regurgitate talking points. One would think that would have occurred to you before making the comment below.
Imagine two Liberals agreeing = Rocket Science.
Satchel,
Reading your comment regarding this exchange was quite gratifying. You said, “I both read and digested every comment and have come to the conclusion, that no everyday person, be they Black, White or Red should support or vote for a Republican party Politician.” That comment alone made having to deal with the conservative idiots attendant to this discussion completely worthwhile. Bringing that fact to the fore was my entire motivation for writing the above article, and I’m not done until everybody I reach comes to the very same conclusion that you that you did.
I believe the author as well his advisaries are the classic definition of [IDEOLOGUE’S]-a partisan advocate or adherent of a particular ideology.[IDEOLOGY]-the body of idea’s characteristic of a particular individual;group or culture.THE problem that we black AMERICAN’S face is we are not the originater’s of the ideology we advocate and adhere to.WHEN we join the liberal’s ; we join a coalition who advocate;s policies we did not write nor can we change.THIS is why are so- called leaders are openly advocating policies that are detrimental to us [illegal immigration].IT also serve’s the purpose of silencing are grievances for fear of being excluded from the coalition.THIS is why the black liberal’s say nothing about OBAMA’S illegal war’s;targeted assassination etc.MALCOLM X warned us of this political trap;he refered to the fox and the wolf.THEREFORE when I hear the author and his opponet’s going at each other; all I hear is a fox and a wolf
I’ll leave it at this: You know I’ve been on this site for about 6-7 months making serious comments about certain topics. From the onset I have seen plenty of people I have completely disagreed with. At no point in time have I ever made it personal with these people because we happen to disagree.
I’ve never attacked anyone’s character through keystrokes. I have had countless black people on here, men and women, who have made personal attacks against me for my views. I have never singled out one single person as less than worthy of respect because we have disagreements. Malcolm X said “when I’m at home, I’m a Muslim. It’s what I use to govern myself ethics wise.
However, when I’m outside my home, I’m a black nationalist freedom fighter. I don’t care what religion you are: you can be atheist but if you’re fighting on behalf of black people, I can work with you.” He proved this by reaching out to MLK before his assassination. But Malcolm was killed for this very reason. Malcolm even acknowledged that when the white girl asked him could she be apart of the organization and he told her no that he was wrong. He regretted that decision. He had been taught to hate so much that he didn’t see someone who reached out to him that could have helped. He admitted he damaged many black by teaching the :hate whitey” doctrine. Why? Because he saw niggas, who claimed they were about saving black people, but who were not living up to this alleged mission.
Niggas thought Elijah Muhammad was a Messiah and killed a man who challenged this notion. Assassinated Malcolm’s character and the man look at what has happened to Malcolm’s family over the years. Tragedy is what happened. Now, I wish any man (or females posing as males) dare compare themselves to Malcolm in terms of impact. Especially the so-called author. You have nations that hate one another (China and America) but can sit down and not only discuss business, but come to some agreements on how to provide direction of how the world should move forward. Now, how can these clowns get on here, claim “whitey’ is so vile as a being, when these monkeys can’t even show proper respect when someone disagrees with them on any issue. Malcolm could work with atheists (as a Muslim), but you can’t work with white folks?
This is how I know you dudes are losers with all your liberal rhetoric you learned in colleges. But I can guarantee you, these same dudes who can call me an idiot (even though I don’t go out here impregnating multiple black women, don’t go out here robbing people, sell crack, rob banks, pimp 14 year old girls, etc) have never told any white person for their views on any issue. Even when I have seen white people say the most uninformed things, I never bashed them at all. I actually teach them their own ignorance (which is not wrong unless it’s willful ignorance) is based in a falsehood called “white superiority.”
Look on any of my posts and see where I made it personal when someone disagreed with me. You won’t find it. Now I have even had either the owner, or someone connected to him, threatened to shut me down when I criticized black women’s behavior because I they didn’t like the way I delivered the truth as I see it. However, I have had people attack me personally (not my arguments because the arguments are and have always been sound) because they don’t like (key word like) the way I say it or what I say or both. If you have ever seen me go in on someone it has been because they have attacked me which is me defending myself, not my argument because these infants made it personal. But I’ll say this: any group of people, who allow their women to run them, guide them, lead them, speak for them, etc is destined for failure. In the Indian community, men are greatly respected. In the Chines community, men are greatly respected. In the Hispanic community, men are greatly respected. In the Arab community, men are greatly respected.
I met a brother from Sudan about two years ago and we got on the topic of black men in America and black women. He said “black men are the reason why black women act the way they do. Where I come from, a woman would never think to put her hands on a man, let alone do it.” I said “I agree with you. It’s why I have had so many problems woith black women because I never let them treat me how they treat most black men: disrespectfully.” Now this was a black man from the “motherland”, the same motherland you niggas always running to saying we need to go back to and it’s culture and heritage and the like, with your dashikis on, saying we must have the same control over “our” women if we want to get respect and produce something. But boy if you bring up the word “submission” to the average black woman, with a liberal college degree, where she learns in feminists classes from liberal professors, who after they teach her to be independent, go home to their rich husbands, saying submit is like declaring war on their ‘modern woman” sensibilities. Now let’s be clear where my values stand: I believe in marriage (mother and father were married and lived with great-grandparents who were married for 49 years),
I believe in wealth-creation (which ties into the legacy you build as a man to ensure your house [family name] lives on after you physically perish, I believe in Creator that I know didn’t create me to be a heathen and a social parasite, and I believe in a class system because I refuse to bring any monkey from a monkey family into my family and let them destroy what my family created as a legacy. It’s every man’s duty (please research the word duty because it’s important) to protect his family’s interest and I would think existence is something to protect so you negroes have a choice to make. Because this nothing to debate: either you will exist, or your house will be destroyed. It’s that simple. Black people did not free themselves. By God’s grace, he used the political structure of this country to release you. You didn’t fight for it like Haiti did. As a matter of fact, when the black men you complain about not being strong tried to rebel or escape, you snitched on them. But you cried out and God responded. Now in 2013, this is how you repay him?
I was researching in 2008 and found out that blacks got married at a higher rate than whites in 1896. This is 31 years after chattel slavery. marriage was a staple during those times for black people and they weren’t the most educated back then either. Now negroes are the most educated they have ever been, yet are the brokest, poorest, stiff-necked, unclean people you see out here in America in terms of a collective. You don’t see Indian women showing ass on tv calling themselves “divas.” You don’t see Arab women, Conservative Hispanic women doing this stuff in music videos. But this Goddess that you dudes idolize so much, which your Tupac “Dear mama” mentalities (and I love the brother but disagree with him on that song) will allow (yes I said allow) your woman to do this, and embarrass you in front of the world, and you say that I am wrong for calling her behavior out? How dare you monkeys demand respect from any people of the world, when you don’t even demand it of yourselves?
The family of nations only respect those who put themselves forth as respectable. You love Beyonce, but nations deny Beyonce the opportunity to come and perform in their countries. Why? maybe they know something that you niggas obviously don’t know about this trollop. Anytime people see your woman on tv, they see how much control you don’t have over her. I mean seriously. You have males (allegedly) calling men names for saying that these tramps need to do better. These the same type of dudes who will search through facebook for females to look thru their pics, and send them messages about how much of a Goddess they are while she has pics of her booty on display with tats all over her body. What man would want a cyborg woman like this? Only a bitch nigga, starved in the desert for vagina, would want this caliber of female.
No man, who wants to build a legacy, will bring this type of woman home to his family. What if you had ex-slaves come back to life, and see the filth you people have become? They would be disgusted with you as a people. Forget white people. This is one of your own who is disgusted with you and I didn’t have to go to college to learn this either: I just embraced my family’s legacy, and got out of this wilderness with the rest of you who don’t demand anything from themselves. I would arrange a marriage for any children I have before i allow them to casually just bring some black person home unless I did a good amount of research on their family to see if they are worthy. Smart people think like this instead of just assuming all black people have good intentions, including the ones who write these BS articles.
Social scientists in the 18th and 19th and even 20th centuries wrote books on the sexual promiscuity of black women, and the devilish (criminal mindedness) of the black man. But we said these were stereotypes. With a prison population dominated by negroes and 70-80 percent of your kids born out-of-wedlock, I must say these people might have been on to something because you got free!!!!! No one put you in chains and said breed uncontrollably.
No one said don’t go to school and invent something to sell. You embraced doctrines like feminism, abortion (which even black women are dominating these numbers and no one is talking about), that have left your community stagnated since integration. If values from the democratic party are so good, then why aren’t you better off?
Eric,
I really hope that Marcus is not Boyce Watkins, I know anything is possible but over the last several years I have heard Boyce speak and I respect his views on various issues. I just hope he would not do something this crazy and bizarre.
I want to thank all of you brothers and sisters for this lively debate. It has so far been both educational and revealing. After observing the Quartet of Natalie, Monique, Marcus Vessey and Rameses gang up on the Author Eric Wattree, I both read and digested every comment and have come to the conclusion, that no everyday person, be they Black, White or Red should support or vote for a Republican party Politician. Furthermore, for Marcus Vessey to have done all the superhuman things he so eloquently bragged about in his brief comment, he surely was wearing a cape. I once worked with a person that fit Vessey’s profile and the group gave him the nickname Walking Eagle,(To full of him self to fly).
Marcus don’t even entertain these clowns…..after you gave them what you did, they still want “proof.” Who would sit here and list all these things just because/ Now if a black woman would have said the same things, they wouldn’t have asked for any proof. They would have said “keep up the good work sister.” And then try to get her phone number. I believe you but this fool eric think he has to give his mark of approval to authenticate your “blackness.” Who the hell does this coon think he is? I mean seriously? Since he wants proof so much, why doesn’t he offer his proof of his projects that he has where we can all go and see if he’s really putting concrete things into motion. Mark Twain wrote under a pseudonym, as well as many others, and aren’t regarded as being slimy. I don’t see where you hid your political beliefs at all. You state them quite clearly. And I have blasted Boyce on this site for his weak articles too so I am nowhere near Bocye Watkins. This dude just makes up things as he goes. stop wasting your time. Who needs to hide from him? Who the hell is he? This coo think he’s the oracle…….
DaTruth,
.
I can’t think of any legitimate reason why a man would want to hide his political beliefs other than the fact that he knows he has ILLEGITIMATE motives, and he doesn’t want his community to know the source of the philosophy he’s disseminating. But something else occurred to me while I was pondering this fraud. “Vesssy” said,
.
“I write under a pseudonym for a variety of reasons one being that I can speak completely “unfiltered” without having to worry about the politics that is rampant in the public space. Right now I am not willing to give up that freedom to appease someone who calls me a White man in disguise. RIGHT NOW I AM NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP THAT FREEDOM TO APPEASE SOMEONE WHO CALLS ME A WHITE MAN IN DISGUISE.”
.
But the fact is, I didn’t say that I thought Vessey was a White man, I said that about Rameses. So I think Vessey and Rameses are the same person, and based on the unsolicited resume that Vessey foisted upon me initially, personally, I think they are both Boyce Watkins. If that is indeed the case, some of the things that Rameses said about Black people – monkeys, niggas, Faggots, and the like – is big, big, news. But admittedly, I have more dots to connect to say that with complete certainty.
.
What makes me suspect it, however, is Boyce Watkins is also a huge presence on the “Black Blue Dog” site as well. Many of his articles advertised on his other site, “YOUR BLACK WORLD” links directly to “Black Blue Dog,” and as I’m sure you know, “Blue Dogs” are Dinos – Democrats in name only – and their motto is, “The Black people that liberals don’t want to talk about.” Then, if you go to their “About” page, it says the following:
.
“About Us
.
“Black Blue Dog is a leading website for socio-political commentary that reflects conservative viewpoints. Readers tend to be educated and politically conscious African Americans. Issues on Black Blue Dogs are those that affect the Black and Latino communities, from education policy to crime, women, and breaking news.”
.
Now, as distasteful as I personally find Black conservatives to be, I do believe that people have the right to be whatever political persuasion they like. But in the case of Boyce Watkins, since he does profess to be “The People’s Scholar,” I think he has a responsibility to come out of the political closet and let the Black community know that he, at the very least, leans conservative.
@Marcus Vessey…….I don’t blame you…….these people are ruthless…….politics is a contact support. Look at the scandals…….NSA……IRS……..
Marcus, you should have come up with some other better BS excuse than that. I mean “I write under a pseudonym for a variety of reasons one being that I can speak completely “unfiltered” without having to worry about the politics that is rampant in the public space.”? Give me a BREAK!!!
So in other words you have proved my opinion of you, you are a glaring example of a conman, liar, coward, and while some may refer to you as a right wing plant trolling black oriented websites spreading nonsense I view you as a sad/tragic person. The truth is you have no credibility, just like the old saying “when you turn on the kitchen light cockroaches run and hide”.
I have wasted enough time with you.
Vessey (or whatever your real name is),
You said,
“DaTruth. I write under a pseudonym for a variety of reasons one being that I can speak completely “unfiltered” without having to worry about the politics that is rampant in the public space. Right now I am not willing to give up that freedom to appease someone who calls me a White man in disguise.”
In other words, you’re a fraud, and writing under a phony name gives you the freedom to lie and mislead the people with impunity.
Vessey,
Stop trying to obfuscate. I know Calvin, and no one is trying to disrespect him – and I think you know it. So just come on with the substantiation of your great deeds and stop trying to change the subject. We’re waiting.
Single Black Woman,
I can produce any number of sources to demonstrate that what Black conservatives and White Republican plants are trying spewing is total nonsense, but Forbes would be appropriate for this group because it’s far from a bastion of liberalism. But regardless to why the source, facts are facts. So if you’re if your implication is the facts are in error, don’t just post hostile remarks, document it. You see, documentation is the Republican Party’s Achilles hill. You’re good at spewing hostility, disinformation, and half-truths, but you’re ALWAYS very short on documentation – because you have none.
Vessey,
I agree with DaTruth’s position. Can’t you document all of these contributions to the Black community? I’m prepared to applaud you if you’re even half the man that you claim to be, so I’ll be anxiously awaiting your response so I can do so.
Oh…and PS I will wait patiently for DaTruth and Eric’s community activity. I suspect I will be waiting for a long time.
And the site is run by Calvin Thomas, and he is a good brother, show him a little respect.
DaTruth. I write under a pseudonym for a variety of reasons one being that I can speak completely “unfiltered” without having to worry about the politics that is rampant in the public space. Right now I am not willing to give up that freedom to appease someone who calls me a White man in disguise.
Marcus being a tribute to Marcus Garvey my hero. Vessey, being a derivative honoring Demark Vesey. Maybe when I know you better we can do a formal exchange.
@Eric
I tend to agree with your assessment regarding Marcus.
@Marcus
Since you claim to have helped so many black people you must have your own website or news articles written about you and your work from legitimate well known sources. Please provide them.
1. Unquestioning Voting Bloc & vote dilution – A consistent 90% plus of the vote has been cast towards the Democratic party for the past 20 years. That is an unquestioned bloc. It is not rocket science. In democracy a vote is an exchange for political behavior that is going to benefit the group. Exactly how has the Democratic party (look at the data before you speak) created a net positive benefit for the Black community since the civil rights act? Your blustering “but they are a defense against tyranny” argument is ludicrous.
But more importantly I am not arguing for a divided vote. You saw my previous post and if you didn’t read it go back and read it about voting on policies regardless of parties that create a net benefit to Blacks. You asked about vote dilution, see Hispanics. Next, see how both parties are competing for the Hispanic vote. Enough said.
2. What have I done for the Black community – First of all I personally have help teach, fund, consult, educate and build over 1,000 black Entrepreneurs over the past decade an a half. Prior to that I developed and designed multiple still in existence local programs that facilitate upward mobility for single Black mothers which included a unique model of college education and career readiness and career connection component. I developed and design a program that created a four year medical career path program for predominantly Black high school students starting at as a HS Freshman through Senior year, that created rap around support, college prep, job shadowing, CNA licensure etc. It is currently expanding to its second school, and then third school a year later and it is being pushed as a model across the region. I have developed and designed low income housing repare and support programs to help build the local asset base of the predominantly Black and low income community. This doesn’t count the numerous financial literacy education and training programs I have either created or designed.
Currently I have a community economic development project occurring in a major midwest metropolis in the predominantly Black community based upon an innovative local empowerment strategy I developed. After the pilot we will be seeking to replicated it across multiple urban core eras. I have consulted multiple other urban core economic development and chamber of commerce entities on how to foster greater entrepreneurship and economic self-determinism amongst Black folks in the urban core. In a month I will be going to work with the entity in Florida who by state statute is responsible for building Black businesses across the state. I will be helping them design an entrepreneurship ecosystem specific to our unique needs as a people. I created a entrepreneurship event focus on low income Black folks and others supported by the head of the Congressional Black Caucus that that served over 800 folks in four states over the past year and a half.
Finally, I am a nationally recognize expert on the subject of entrepreneurship economic development and routinely speak at local, regional and national conferences, in the hood, in the church and wherever any other place folks will listen to me on the topic of economic self-determinism. If my audience is my people I discuss it in the context of Black power, the evolution of Black America in the context of globalism and functional cooperative economics.
In my youth I was a local community activist, lead the neighborhood association collaborative, had a Blog that received over 200,000 hits in a single year before I retired it, and had two separate local television shows on Black empowerment.
Currently I am finishing a book and also working to utilize my national connections to create a new national Black paradigm and movement predicated off the presentation I gave on cooperative economics at Kwanzaa last year that I am sure you will hear about in the next 12 months. Stay tuned.
Like I said, I am a pro-Black pragmatist, neo-Garveyite that believes our elevation will occur through economic self-determinism and relative control of our economic space. I work to execute that philosophy every day and won’t stop until my will is achieved.
Your turn Mr. Progressive Thinker.
Oh because 10 percent of the population chooses not to be manipulated by the two party system it must be a Republican plot. Real cute from someone who’s quoting Forbes Magazine as a testament to how well the Messiah is doing, SMDH!
Vessey,
.
Here comes the delusions of grandeur again. You told “DaTruth,” “Bro, I am a pro-Black pragmatist that has done more and continues to do more for the Black community across the nation than you ever will.” Okay, Vessey, it’s time to put-up or shut-up. Exactly what have you done “for the Black community across the nation?”
.
You also said,
.
“As a political system and philosophy created to maintain the power structures that be, which is not Black, and only utilizes Blacks as a recurring unquestioning voting bloc that is like going to your oppressor and requesting they voluntarily give up power simply because it is the right thing to do.”
.
What evidence do you have that the Black vote is an “unquestioning bloc” as oppose to voting as a bloc against a malevolent force who as we speak is leaving no stone unturned to undermine our right to vote, and is hellbent on reconfiguring our democratic society into one of corporate feudalism? And please don’t come up with that crap that there’s no difference between the Democratic and Republican Parties. While granted, the Democratic Party isn’t all that it should be – and, by the way, I’ve been an independent for my entire voting life – exactly what “pragmatic” benefit would the Black community derive by diluting it’s vote between away from the Bogeyman, and giving half of it to the Devil? That’s a stupid on it’s face. At least if our vote is concentrated in the Democratic Party, we have a better chance of keeping Republicans out of office who’s primary purpose for existence is to totally destroy us. So your “pragmatic” thinking is ridiculously flawed.
.
As for Black empowerment, in spite of your supposed vast knowledge in syllogistic, you’re engaging in a logical non sequitur. You seem to be implying that anyone who believes in not diluting our vote but sharing half of it with Republican fascist doesn’t believe in Black empowerment. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive.
.
But don’t let me digress here. The main reason I responded to you is to ask the questions posed above:
.
1). Exactly what have you done “for the Black community across the nation?
.
2). What evidence do you have that the Black vote is an “unquestioning bloc” as oppose to voting as a bloc against a malevolent force who as we speak is leaving no stone unturned to undermine our right to vote, and is hellbent on reconfiguring our democratic society into one of corporate feudalism?
.
3). How does it benefit the Black community – or ANY minority – to dilute our vote?
DaTruth,
.
I don’t think this site is White run – while I can’t substantiate my suspicion, I think it’s run by Boyce Watkins – but I do agree that there seems to be a large number of White Republican plants commenting on the site.
.
I fully agree and cosign your remarks regarding Marcus Vessey – I don’t even take him seriously anymore. But if you’ll review the comments of Rameses, I think you’ll agree with me that he’s probably not only a White paleo-conservative plant, but a racist White boy. I don’t believe a Black man could possibly be as stupidly out of touch with respect to other Black people as he is – at least, any Black man who doesn’t suffer from some sort of birth defect. But if he wants to pose as a Black man, that’s fine with me, because I’ve never run across a person who serves the purpose of pointing out the dysfunction of Black conservative thinking more eloquently than he does. In fact, I’m compiling a compendium of his delusional remarks for extensive use.
.
Just yesterday I urged my good friend, Playthell Benjamin, a writer, radio commentator and scholar in New York (who literally took the late and renowned contrarian, Christopher Hitchens, apart during a video taped debate at Cooper Union) to visit the site and load up on ammunition. After reading Rameses’ comments, he told me that he had little patience with such idiots, but I pointed out to him that I love such people. I use a martial arts technique on them – I allow the momentum of their own stupidity to defeat their purpose, because such people do more to hurt their own cause than anything that I could ever conjure up on my own. So for the first time in my life, I find myself thanking God for creating stupidity.
I bare no allegiance to any political group but you Waltree are one of two things deceptive or uninformed; either way you are hindering progress. Totally agree with “whatever” people should do their home work and not rely on others who have deceptive motives.
DaTruth…really? LOL. Nice try. What I usually find is that folks who have no intelligent counter-argument move to unthought out assumptions.
Bro, I am a pro-Black pragmatist that has done more and continues to do more for the Black community across the nation than you ever will. Because I don’t fall pray to your Matrix like acceptance of the false dichotomy of the two party American system, and reject liberalism in favor of Black power through economic self-determinism it seems I don’t fit your criteria for what constitutes progressive Blackness. In fact, I subscribe to neo-garveyism…but wait a minute…as you critique do you even know who Marcus Garvey is? Why don’t you bone up on some of his work first and come back.
Let me tell you something champ, you continue to languish under the hope that your liberal predisposition is sufficient to materially alter our condition, the same as Mr. Eric Wattree.
How dumb is that? As a political system and philosophy created to maintain the power structures that be, which is not Black, and only utilizes Blacks as a recurring unquestioning voting bloc that is like going to your oppressor and requesting they voluntarily give up power simply because it is the right thing to do.
So while they have folks like you who think it is a war of conservatism versus liberalism, having you run in circles like a dog chasing its tail, true conscious cats recognize it is the system containing the parties that needs to be adjusted, and it is the Black paradigm that needs to be shifted.
Now Mr. Truth, why don’t you share with the site your philosophy since you seem so profoundly gifted at knowing where everyone else is coming from.
Deceptive (a very appropriate screen name, by the way),
.
The fact that 90% of the Black community look upon Black conservatives with deep disdain falls under the heading of COMMON KNOWLEDGE, and trying dispute such a commonly known fact only goes to demonstrate that Black conservatives live in a world of delusion. What percentage of the Black community do you think uses the term “Uncle Tom,” a denigrating used nearly EXCLUSIVELY to describe Black conservative mentality. In addition, look at the result of the last election and any number of polls. And finally, why do you think the majority of Black conservatives, including yourself “DECEPTIVE” are using screen names instead of your actual names – other than the fact that many of you are actually White conservative plants posing as Black because you think that Black people are stupid. The White conservative community even accepts the figure as fact:
.
A 2010 unsigned article published on the Web site of the CONSERVATIVE WEEKLY Human Events reads:
.
“If black Americans wish to be Democrats, that is their choice — or is it? Despite the fact that Democrats enjoy the support of over 90% of black America, the other 10%, those who dare to ‘stray from the plantation,’ have been routinely vilified — by other black Americans.”
.
The article continued:
.
“The not-so-subtle message? Support liberal dogma — or face social ostracism.”
.
Dr. Ben Carson, who delivered a speech blasting the president during the National Prayer breakfast this year and quickly became a darling of the right (The Wall Street Journal declared: “Ben Carson for President”), said of white liberals in a radio interview:
.
“They are the most racist people there are. Because they put you in a little category, a little box. You have to think this way. How could you dare come off the plantation?”
.
(Carson also got in trouble for comparing homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality. He later apologized for those comments, “if anybody was offended.”)
.
Unfortunately, the runaway slave image among many black Republican politicians is becoming ingrained and conservative audiences are applauding them for it.
.
Herman Cain, for example, built an entire presidential campaign on slave imagery.
.
C. Mason Weaver, a radio talk show host, failed Republican Congressional candidate from California and author of the book “It’s OK to Leave the Plantation,” said of President Obama at a 2009 Tea Party rally in Washington: “You thought he was saying was ‘hope and change’; he was saying was ‘ropes and chains,’ not ‘hope and change.’ ” Weaver continued: “Decide today if you’re going to be free or slaves. Decide today if you’re going to be a slave to your master or the master of your own destiny.” Weaver would repeat the “rope and chains” line on Fox and Friends that year.
.
The Rev. C.L. Bryant, a Tea Party member and occasional Fox News guest, even made a movie called “Runaway Slave,” in which he says that America should “run away from socialism, run from statism, run away from progressivism.”
.
While these politicians accuse the vast majority of African-Americans of being mindless drones of the Democrats, they are skating dangerously close to — if not beyond — the point where they become conservative caricatures.
.
The implication that most African-Americans can’t be discerning, that they can’t weigh the pros and cons of political parties and make informed decisions, that they are rendered servile in exchange for social services, is the highest level of insult. And black politicians are the ones Republicans are cheering on as they deliver it.
.
Now who, exactly, is being used here?
.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/23/opinion/blow-blacks-conservatives-and-plantations.html?_r=0
I have occasionally visited this website over the last couple years. I have always enjoyed reading topics on the black American community. Shortly after discovering this website it was apparent that thyblackman was obviously controlled and directed by a white conservative group given some of the articles and comments that have been posted. This is not an indictment regarding all the articles and writers who have contributed their work on this website but it is very pathetic to read crap comments and remarks made by people masking themselves as black American professionals talking trash that is supposed to benefit society, i.e. Marcus Vessay.
The Fed’s QE is manufacturing the artificial growth of this economy and creating another bubble in the housing market at the expense of the low and middle class but of course inflation doesn’t exist when the high cost of food and energy is left out of the equation. Since Obama took office food up 15 percent, gas up 90 percent, while wages are down. Anyone who has a phone knows that taxes are just about more than the service unless you’re idle which qualifies you for Obama’s free cell phones at the expense of the working class. I don’t need a magazine to tell me how good the economy is under Obama because I don’t live in the world of make believe.
I’m sorry but this was a badly written article full odd takes on statics and foolish conjecture. 90% of blacks HATE black conservatives? Prove that please… Wait you can’t it isn’t even possible to lol
Forbes Magazine: Economically, Could Obama Be America’s Best President?
.
Firstly, let’s review just how bad things were in 2009. In 2000 America was completing the longest bull market in history. But by the end of President Bush’s tenure the country had witnessed 2 stock market crashes, and the DJIA had fallen 58%. This was the second worst market decline in history (exceeded only by the Great Depression,) and hence the term “Great Recession” was born.
.
In 2000, at the end of Clinton’s administration, the Consumer Confidence Index was at a record high 140. By January, 2009 this index had fallen to an historic low of 25.3. Comparatively, when Reagan took office at the end of the economically weak Carter years the Confidence Index was still at 74.4! Today this measure of how people feel about the country is still nowhere near 2000 levels, but it is almost 3 times better than 4 years ago.
Significantly, in 2000 America had a budget surplus. By 2009 surpluses were long gone and the country was racking up historic deficits as taxes were cut while simultaneously outlays for defense skyrocketed to cover costs of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, banks were on the edge of failing due to unregulated real estate speculation and massive derivative losses.
.
Today the Congressional Budget Office is reporting a $200B decrease in the deficit almost entirely due to increased revenue from a growing economy and higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans. The deficit is now only 4% of the GDP, down from over 10% at the end of Bush’s administration – and projections are for it to be only 2% by 2015 (before Obama leaves office.) America’s “debt problem” seems largely solved, and almost all due to growth rather than austerity.
.
We can largely thank a fairer tax code, improved regulation and consistent SEC enforcement. Also, major strides in health care reform – something no other President has accomplished – has given American’s more faith in their future, and an increased willingness to invest.
.

damn Robert….you’re right….so simple but to the point….now let’s see what this liberal coalition produces in these 8 years. No excuses. Got someone black in there so many accomplishments should be made. If blacks can’t move forward with a black president, then you will know for sure their days are numbered. Good job Robert……we will see how gay marriage, more social welfare programs, healthcare, will contribute to wealth creation. It’s funny how these black people voted for Obama (over 90 percent I might add) have gotten nothing from him. I mean gays got repeal of don’t ask don’t tell but what did blacks get? LOL…..blacks are backwards, they petition government first, instead of becoming economically stable, which make you relevant, then petition the government because politicians need money to run campaigns so they will come to your trough (instead of you going to there’s) begging. George Bush won two elections without really courting the black vote. Think about that. How can 40 million people be irrelevant in terms of political power unless the establishment has done enough research to know they don’t really count anymore because they have no position of power to speak from. Oh yeah, thanks to your democrats, who convinced you to integrate, your wealth based disintegrated. Way to go democrats. Politics are about “I do for you, you do for me.” Love ain’t got nothing to do with it. If you thinks so then you are more naïve than I thought as a people. When Katrina hit New Orleans, that should have wakened negroes up. Seeing those poor negroes looking like Somalians. But as we see, business as usual. Same ignorant, monkey stuff we usually see from the negro. Politically, he thinks like an infant, and does not understand how the game is played and becomes a loser after every election. Watch 2014. Let’s see how low the turnout is for blacks. Low voter turnout as usual for black people when midterm elections are vital. How many campaigns black people vote for collectively? I mean seriously. But always saying what someone doesn’t do for them. Hold up, you didn’t donate to any party, let alone Republican, but say “Republicans don’t do anything for us.” They don’t have to. You gave them no support, they won, and they owe you nothing. That’s like me saying “yeah this girl doesn’t love me it’s unfair.” Then when someone asks “well do you love her.” And I respond with “hell nah I don’t love her.” LOL…..How can you expect Republicans to do for you, when you are always on tv talking about how much you hate them? Only a child will think with this logic. But black people don’t participate in midterm elections because they have what they want: welfare. That’s their inheritance and they are cool with it. Because if they really weren’t, they would do everything in their power to make themselves self-sufficient. Black people have no understanding about how money works or an economy works, and therefore don’t understand how government works, because you can’t run any govt without a sound economic policy. If you think working for someone else will make you rich then you’re more lost than I thought……lol
THE AUTHOR seems to be extremely confused; he assert’s correctly that the conservitive black’s are a insignificant 10% of the black population;yet he spend’s most of his time on this insignificant group.THE AUTHOR has to realize his side was the winner and not only that they even got a black president out the deal.IT’S for the left/liberal/obama supporter’s to put up or shut up.YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED !
FROM THE MOUTH OF A BLACK REPUBLICAN ACTIVIST
.
In his article, “My Republican Party has Abandoned Me,” Black Republican activist, Raynard Jackson, says the following:
.
“For many years, I have approached the party and its supporters about underwriting programs to bring together Blacks who are Republican or lean Republican so we can weave them into every facet of the party structure. The answer is always, no! But, twice this year some of these same people have approached me about funding for some election year tricks that they (White Republicans) have conjured up and simply need a Black face to execute the plan. On these two separate occasions, these funders were willing to spend upwards of $20 million to have me organize a national campaign to identify Blacks who would be critical of President Obama.”
.
Now, do you really believe that in this contentious election, where the Republican Party has unlimited funds and are willing to do anything to win, that some of that money is not finding its way into the pocket of two of the most money hungry, highest profile, Black Obama bashers in the country? That’s highly unlikey – especially since one of those bashers, Tavis smiley, is closely associated with Walmart and several other charter members of “ALEC.” So if you believe that they’re not benefitting in some way from that GOP dirty tricks fund, you’re naive.
.

Monique, Natalie, Marcus Vessey and Rameses please disengage in the dialogue because it’s getting more bizarre. Anyone who wants to know the history of the two parties can research for themselves and not take the word of an individual who cannot be impartial when discussing such a matter. While they’re researching the two parties they’ll discover that the lines are so blurred do to the fact that politicians have moved freely between the two parties for political expediency. If we are ever to come into the light we will have to start by abandoning ANY political affiliation, work on self and practice civility.
History of the Republican Party
.
Most Black people used to be Republicans immediately after the Civil Rights Era – Martin Luther King was a Republican. But the Republican Party was different back then. They represented the business community of the North, and the Democrats, or Dixiecrats, represented the farmers of the South. That was one of the reasons for the Civil War; it was actually a dispute between the big business Republicans of the North, and the Southern Democrats that represented the farming interests. Black people just happened to benefit from the dispute, and big business could use the manpower.
.
But during the Great Depression the two parties began to change their alliances after Democrat, Franklin Roosevelt, turned on big business to help the average worker. Thereafter, working-class people began to gravitate to the Democratic Party. Then during the Civil Rights Era of the sixties when John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson began to support Black civil rights, Black people began to move to the Democratic Party and southern racists began to move to the Republican Party. So that’s how the parties became the way they are today.
.
But the fact is, when Republicans start trying to claim Lincoln, and claiming that they fought to free the slaves, they’re assuming that you’re so stupid that you don’t realize that they’re hiding the fact that over the past hundred years the Democratic and Republican parties have their political positions. The Republican Party used to be liberal, and the Democratic Party used to be conservative. So in order to keep score on who did what to whom, you have to think in terms of liberalism and conservatism. Liberals have always been more open-minded, and conservatives have always been the racists, regardless to what party they were in.
.
That’s what’s so interesting about what’s currently going on in the Republican Party. Once again, there’s a dispute between the interest of fiscal conservatives, big business, who benefit from a more practical approach to social policies, and social conservatives, the social bigots. But this time the dispute is going on within the Republican Party. It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.
Well, Mr. Vessey,
.
The resume Man! The self-proclaimed authority on syllogistic logic and top national lecturer of international acclaim. It’s good to here from you again. When you failed to respond after our last encounter, I assumed you might have been in Stockholm, Sweden consulting with the Nobel academy or something. Oh well, whatever.
.
But in response to your assertion that I was engaging in over the top hyperbole with respect to mentioning the Nazis, and the gross stupidity of the concept of Black conservatism conservatism, I’ll simply cite a note I wrote to a conservative friend of mind:
.
Tom,
.
Sometimes your arrogance is astounding. How in the hell do you presume to tell a Black man about the state of racism in America? You have absolutely no idea what America looks like through the eyes of a Black man. George Zimmerman stalked an unarmed Black child – who was minding his own business – AFTER being told by the police to stay in his car, then shot and killed the child, and now he’s trying to call it self defense, and many conservatives are supporting his assertion base on the fact that the kid was once suspended from school. Do you think the conservative response would have been the same if Zimmerman had been a Black man who shot and killed a White child? Come on – really.
.
Just walking up on Trayvon was an assault, because you don’t have to put your hands on a person for it to constitute an assault. Putting you hands on them is assault and battery. An assault is merely placing them in fear for their well being. So it was Trayvon who had the right to defend himself. Again, if the exact same scenario had taken place, but it had been a Black man who killed a White kid, the Black man would already be on death row, if indeed, he was still alive.
.
So don’t write me trying to lecture me on racism in America. The United States is one of the most racist countries on the face of the Earth – and it always has been. All this “freedom and justice for all” was a lie when it was written, and it’s still a lie. Americans have a delusional blind spot when it comes to this country. While we condemned Hitler for killing 6 million Jews – and he did deserve condemnation – but we conveniently ignore the fact that Americans killed well over 100 million Native Americans. Some historians place the number closer to 300 million. We also called Al Qaeda unconscionable terrorists for killing three thousand Americans, and then we trotted right over to Iraq and kill over one million innocent women and children – for nothing!
.
In addition, we’re always talking about the need to curb terrorism, while the fact is, we’re the only country on Earth that has ever dropped not one, but two, atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki – one bomb on each – killing and maiming thousands of innocent men, women, children, cute little puppies, and cuddly little kittens.
Yeah, I know – we were at war with Japan. But we were at war with the Japanese government, not innocent noncombatants, and terrorism is defined as “the killing of innocent noncombatants for political purposes.” So based on that definition, the United States is the most brutal terrorist nation in the history of mankind – and I didn’t even mention the atrocities committed during slavery, the Jim Crow years, and during WWII when Black war heroes were forced to give up their seats on the train for Nazi prisoners of war.
.
So man, don’t you dare try to tell me about the virtues of this country. I’m not ignorant, and as I told you in my last email, I’m not the least bit interested in watching you play with yourself. I deal in facts, not sanitized delusions.
.
Now, Mr. Vessey, explain to me how mentioning the Nazis is EVER hyperbole when we’re discussing the behavior of this country. The mere fact that you think it is, is prima facie evidence that your brainwashed. But I guess you were asleep when they taught common sense in the logic class that you seem to take so much pride in.
.
Come back soon, Vessey. As I told you before, you never cease to be entertaining.
Natalie,
Look at the pro-Obama numbers in the Black community. I think that’s a pretty good indication. You can also look at the Black response in the polls to Herman Cain during the last primaries, or the lack of support and outright distain to Allen West, or any Black conservative running for ANY office.
Ni he can’t….this just gos to show you how silly he is….it was the Republican party (Lincoln was a republican) who freed the slaves. Silly. Booker T was received by Teddy Roosevelt in the white house because he respected his educational programs at Tuskegee, while democrats were mocking Teddy Roosevelt for receiving a negro in the white house. Now this dude calling this sister a fool because she presented an article that could possibly contradict his assertion? So he’s God now? Yeah like I said Marcus, dude is a clown. This woman wasn’t disrespectful to him, neither was I, yet he disrespects her like this? But he love the sisters though? This dude responds like an ugly chick who knows no wants her: bitter. I thought name-calling stopped in 4th or 5th grade. I wish I could transfer some of these monkeys back to slavery, and bring some of the people back to this time because we could get more accomplished with them than these gum bumping. black liberals who swing on the balls and suckle on the tittis of white liberals. You had 8 years of Bill Clinton, 4 years of Obama, but what do you have to show for supporting democrats? Gay people are getting more respect (and benefits) than black people. But democrats are great? LOL!!!!! ok!!!!!!! This dude doesn’t want a debate: he wants us to pay homage to his perceived brilliance on his own part. I mean he really thinks he is brilliant. LOL totally disrespected Monique when she was just trying to offer for anyone, not just him, an alternative view so they could make an informed decision on whether they believe what he says or don’t. Totally uncalled for….that’s why I call him an Intellectual Fggot: because he presents himself as a male, but only advances arguments idolizing women which makes me believe he deeps down wants to remove his penis and put on a dress. Go ahead….that’s what black men are known for anyway. Rupaul ass niggas
Eric, another failure. Your hyperbole and rhetoric on this topic is over the top and makes you look like a babbling idiot. You are simply descending into increasingly more and more utter foolishness. I don’t mind a solid intellectual critique of the merits of conservatism and the Black experience, but you have to go into Nazism? Come on man. After you wrote such a decent article the other day.
You act as if a cogent philosophical position can’t be made for Black conservatism that exists outside of the false dichotomy of Republican and Democrat two party system. That is your inherent problem. You are not a serious thinker on the subject, and because you aren’t, serious thinkers can’t take you seriously. You continually express to us how you are a critical progressive thinker, yet a critical thinker is both more circumspect, more critical and more analytical. You are turning in the Black bizarro Shawn Hannity.
This kind of stuff is worthless for Black people. You can do better.
Do you have a reference for your frequently cited. “90%” statistic?
Monique,
This from a rush to judgment. Black people have over three hundred years experience with such people. Any Black person who can embrace a philosophy that has REPEATEDLY demonstrated it’s hostility towards everything they, AND THEIR FAMILY, represent is an idiot, Period. And anything that you present that tends to justify such idiotic behavior – and I don’t care who it was written by – is a damn fool. I don’t care if it was written by the most honored Black man in the history of the Black experience. That’s the problem with a lot of you people – you let other people think for you instead of thinking for yourselves. So don’t tell me to read anything that justifies stupidity, because I NEVER, give anyone else’s ability to think priority over my own – and that goes for Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, the Pope, and Jesus Christ himself.
