(ThyBlackMan.com) This week, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. If you’re not careful, it can be easy to miss that fact in the midst of all the shopping, parties and gift giving. But we can’t miss it. And we can’t miss the many gifts He gave to us during the 33 years He purposefully walked the earth. His mission statement can be found in John 10:10: “I have come that they might have life, and life more abundantly.”
So, in celebration of CHRISTmas, rather than sharing my own words of inspiration. I’d like to share some words of wisdom from the greatest life coach ever – words that came directly from the mouth of Jesus himself – words that can help you get unstuck and be unstoppable, if you follow them. Enjoy .. and Merry Christmas!
1. Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:16
The tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut this month was a somber reminder of the darkness that exists in our world. We must not forget that each of us can be a light. Now, more than ever, the world needs your light to shine – through the love you show and the gifts your share. Don’t hide your light . Don’t miss the opportunity to be a blessing. This Christmas, be less concerned about what you get and more concerned about what you give. Let your light shine. When you love others, they get a glimpse of God.
2. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Few things make it harder to get unstuck and be unstoppable than exhaustion. If you are worn out or becoming burned out, maybe you need some rest. You can become burned out chasing goals. In fact, research shows that we deplete our energy while reaching a goal. It is important to replenish that energy before moving on to the next goal. But when you shift into overdrive, racing from one achievement to the next, it is often fear that drives you. Stop. Rest. Worship. Let God refill your tank.
3. “If you have faith and do not doubt … you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive what you ask for in prayer.” – Matthew 21:21-22
Fear is the obstacle that gets us stuck. Faith is the antidote. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). You have to believe it before you see it – that’s the key to getting unstuck. Have a vision for where you are going – and believe so strong in it that you move towards it even though you can only see the vision in your imagination. That’s how you bring your vision to fruition.
You must believe and not doubt. As we move into a new year, what hope do you need to rekindle? Ask for it in prayer. Believe and don’t doubt. If you do, you will take action in synch with divine orchestration and see your vision come to life.
My challenge to you:
Honor Jesus’ birthday by talking to Him (through prayer) and letting Him talk to you (by reading His word).
Biblically speaking, Christmas has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The scriptural account contidicts the Christmas account. In addition to the fact that the scriptures reveal that Jesus was born at a time when shepards were ‘living outdoors’, (which would not be in late December), the three magi brought Jesus gifts up to two years AFTER the day he was born not the night he was born and when Jesus was living in a house not a stable. These facts are in every Bible. Finally, Jesus himself never celebrated his birthday and the apostles never did so either.
Since Christmas does not have Biblical roots where did it come from and does it matter? This is a very important question. A previous commentor correctly stated that Christmas comes from Pagen roots. From the tree to the December 25th date. It all comes from pagen worship. (As hard as it is to accept, it is the truth and it is the “truth that sets you free”).
Does it matter that Christmas is actually a pagen holiday? Does the Bible give any indication that adopting false worship under the guise of true worship is acceptable to God? Again, the Bible clearly shows that there is no sharing between the “truth and the lie”, “no sharing between light and darkness”. Finally, a undeniable example is what happened when the Israelites left Eqypt. The Isrealites took the calf worship of the Eqyptians and giving it another name tried to pass it off as appropriate for God’s people. (This is exactly how Christmas came to be). Though they named it a “Festival to Jehovah”, it did not change it’s true nature. The results were disasterous for the Isrealites (Exodus 32) (2nd Timothy 3:16). Now here is the question: Why would we think things are any differet with Christmas? “God has not changed”.
Hello. December 25th has nothing to do with Jesus. Christmas (Christ mass) is a pagan holiday. If you study and research the true history in the Bible, you will find this out. God warns of following traditions (Colossians 2:8). He also warns of bringing trees into your home and decorating them as the heathens did/do. Read it for yourself, please. Jeremiah 10:2-4. If Jesus was born in December…where were the sheep? Everyone knows it would have been too cold for the sheep to be out. The pagans were already “celebrating” their birth of the unconquerable SUN not SON and their female deities on December 25th. Where can you find Christmas in the Bible? When God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6) He knew people would read this (or something of this sort) and think it’s crazy. That’s what the pagans are hoping for. Study, people, study. Stop the deception! The lack of knowledge doesn’t stem from a shortage of knowledge, but rather a rejection of it.
Man-made religion keeps the human race for the most part, backwards. Especially black people who claim to their slave masters versions.
@Peter
Could you not find anywhere else to spew your negative rant? That is at the core of the problems in the world. People feel a urge to spew negativity but they begrudgingly express any actions of love and compassion. Religious or not, darkness and intolerance is at the heart of your words.
Also, I would like to remind you that your world which you have built around science would fade away at the loss of electricity, a natural disaster, or any other number of things outside human control. Your house is built on sand and the tide is rolling in.
Well, I don’t really care about Jesus just like I don’t care about the flying spaghetti monster. For me X-mas is a secular holiday, so if someone wants to celebrate it religiously, it’s fine, but the truth is that religion becomes irrelevant in the modern world. Computers, smartphones, the internet, heart pacers and so on were all invented by scientists and engineers, and not priests.
It is beautiful, thank you!
