(ThyBlackMan.com) Finally, a female rapper in Hip-Hop has a regular name that you can pronounce without sounding like you do not understand the English language. Azealia Banks, is the latest queen on the rise as an artist;  her flow is alluring. Ms. Banks has a style that she created and owns it.

Azealia Banks was born in 1991, and is fromHarlem,New York. She has a few music credits under her belt and proclaims to love mermaids –so much that she has decided to portray one on occasions. The petite-sized rapper with a chocolate skin complexion flows differently than most, writes her own rhymes, and is commanding attention all over the world.  Formally known under her alias Miss Bank$, Azealia is an alpha female. There is not one female  out in the rap game that compares to her at the moment.

Azealia Banks did not graduate from high school and when you listen to her rhymes or anyone for that matter –you can tell by their lyrical composition and depth of intellect if they read. She mainly talks about sex. So, that puts to rest everything else. However, her musical talent is in tact, she lacks the written material needed to be a crossover star.  She lives abroad inMontreal. Her work has done quite well in theUnited Kingdomand the Netherlends. The rapper’s music discography doesn’t have much in it, but she is utilizing social media to share her talent with the world.

Often today it does not matter what you can do with your talent, but how you look and how many units you can sell music. Azealia Banks is changing those stereotypes and paving her own way in music. She is more of  a pop rapper versus a ride or die chick. Additionally, you can tell that she loves rock music. To help propel her career,  she has been in spats with several well-known rappers and lyrically crushed them on her Mixtapes. Again, Azealia Banks discography is not deep, but she does have rapper’s swagger. It’s refreshing that she does not want to be Niki Minaj.

There needs to be a better representation of individuals of a darker hue in music and she is the chick to do it right now. If you are interested in listening to her music, check out the track “Liquorice,” and “Van Vogue.”

Azealia Banks is making a mark  in music independently and doesn’t look like she is going to slow down any time soon.
