(ThyBlackMan.com) GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul was disappointed about his narrow loss in Maine to rival Mitt Romney, however he believes his campaign will “keep going up” as the candidates prepare for some time off before the next state primary election.
Ron Paul was a favorite to win the Maine caucuses, after spending more time courting voters there than any of his rivals.
However, as Ron Paul stated Sunday in an appearance on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” there were some key factors that lead to his loss there.
“We were disappointed that the one county where we have done the best in the past, and we have been expected to do the best in the past, they canceled their caucus,” said Ron Pau.
The Texas congressman Ron Paul is referring to Washington County, Maine. Washington County postponed voting in its caucuses due to the severe weather that occurred there on Saturday.
The Maine Republican party still declared Mr. Romney the winner and Ron Paul’s campaign has come out and stated that they believe the missing votes from Washington County would give them the victory.
However, that would be difficult based on the results of the 2008 caucuses in Washington County. In 2008 there were only 113 votes cast, 8 of which were for Ron Pau, The New York Times reports. He would need more than 194 votes in order to win the election.
Ron Paul beyond Maine
CBS anchor Bob Scheiffer asked Ron Paul what he sees as his path going forward in the race Sunday, which is a good question considering his position in the race as far as delegate votes combined with the fact that he has yet to win a caucus or primary election in the race thus far.
“We’re there to win and do our best,” said Ron Paul. “Romney’s been up and down, the other’s have been up and down, I haven’t been down, I keep going up. I don’t really go up and down and our numbers grow and once they join our campaign, anybody joins our campaign becomes solid supporters and who knows what’s going to happen. We live in an age where things change rather rapidly, whether politically or economically and certainly in foreign policy things change, so this whole ball game can change rather rapidly.”
Ron Paul’s claim that he does not go “up and down” is questionable, considering how he has finished in polls throughout the primary race. He is correct though regarding all of his rivals.
When voter interest in the primary race really began ticking up last August, the race truly did seem to be wide open. Texas Governor Rick Perry enjoyed a surge in popularity upon first entering the race, but declined dramatically after a number of speech gaffes in debates and at appearances along the campaign trail.
Pizza magnate Herman Cain surged in late October, but plummeted and dropped out in early December after a number of allegations of sexual impunity began to cloud his campaign.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich surged when Herman Cain began to decline in late November, but his campaign took a nose dive in late December as the Iowa caucuses drew nearer and voters were inundated with negative ads about his past consulting relationship with failed mortgage giant Freddie Mac. That was around the same time that Mr. Santorum began to surge and eventually went on to win the Iowa caucuses.
During all of that surging and declining by his rivals, Ron Paul has consistently maintained his middle of the pack position in the race, finishing third in Iowa, second in New Hampshire, fourth in South Carolina and Florida and then third in Nevada. Now, after finishing a close second place in Maine he still has a chance to win the nomination mathematically in terms of delegate votes, but he still faces an uphill battle going forward.
Ron Paul enjoys a loyal following of voters that seem attracted to his unique domestic and foreign policy views too.
Ron Paul supporters who actually go out and vote in state primary elections seem to be not as influenced by previous state results, polls, or whichever candidate happens to be the front-runner at the time of their state election. Although that does seem to be the case with Mr. Romney and Mr. Santorum, evidenced by Mr. Santorum’s three victories last week.
Although the Texas congressman Ron Paul was not happy with his second place finish in Maine, the top tier finish there still gives him an edge as the candidates head into 15 day period prior to the elections in Michigan and Arizona. That will be the last primary result on the minds of Paul supporters and undecided voters in the upcoming state elections, with Super Tuesday looming.
As he stated Sunday, Ron Paul is hoping that voters will continue to be attracted to his message that seems to buck the “status quo” evoked by his rivals.
“All three of them have represented the same system, the same status quo, not wanting changes in the foreign policy. None of them talk about spending cuts, none of them talk about real changes in monetary policy, so their not a whole lot different,” said Ron Paul. “When it comes down to those three I think its going to be management style more than anything else.”
Ron Paul 2012 campaign continues to have it’s ups and downs. Still with that we all know Ron Paul will fight for this country no matter what.

Maine Election Fraud
There is a lot more election fraud going on in Maine besides the Washington County delay. There is also:
1. The state GOP instructing precincts to not tally or publicize vote counts at each precinct, just forward the privately counted totals to state HQ. What? That’s a classic strategy to steal votes when people can’t verify their precincts!
2. Precinct tallies were then combined with other precincts so that it becomes even more difficult to verify results.
3. When individual precincts results could be verified, the state totals don’t match up with the precinct totals, by a substantial margin.
4. Delegate votes – some precincts had more delegate ballots than they should have, so the precinct chair then claims the privilege of appointing all delegates themselves rather than re-voting. Who has the easiest access to stuffing the ballot box? The precinct chair! (Why not revote? We’re only talking about a few dozen people in each case. It wouldn’t be very prohibitive)
5. The ‘errors’ so far, all seem to be going towards Romney’s favor (Charlie Webster, state GOP party chair, is a Romney supporter)
6. The errors so far are enough for Ron Paul to win, regardless of what happens in Washington County.
7. The state GOP is refusing to work out these problems or reconvene for 3 weeks, until after Super Tuesday
If this straw vote is so inconsequential, then why has the media spent millions of dollars, 1000s of articles in 100s of different media outlets reporting on every facet of these beauty contest votes for months now? Meaningless? I don’t think so. Donations, momentum and support levels are determined by the results of each state. Widespread fraud also tells us a lot about the potential elect ability of the candidate that needs this kind of skulduggery in order to win.

Ron Paul 2012 , last chance america has
And not For nothing, I dare this WRITER to find me and EX-RON PAUL SUPPORTER? Good luck with that one. LOLOL.. Once FREEDOM is in your blood , your done
Whether or Not you like RON PAUL is not the MAIN ISSUE.. WHO here is happy that some DUMB GOP F__K decided that your VOTE or MINE should NOT BE COUNTED, or that you DID NOT DESERVE TO BE HEARD? OUR BASIC RIGHTS as FREE MEN is being STOLEN from us and all we do is argue over how much they are going to STEAL..
Everywhere I look, and on every single website I see, there is Ron Paul, winning the hearts of the people. Every single American needs to test the validity of their own country this year. Treat it as a science project.
Vote Ron Paul, and destroy the society of the media. It’s time we took our own lives back.
Vote Ron Paul, and stop watching TV and buying newspapers. They have no power if everyone stops watching. At least the internet is still open territory.
We can take our country back by changing some very simple things in our lives. Stop watching TV. Stop donating to talk radio. Stop buying newspapers and trendy magazines. This is America’s junk food for the mind.
If no one is listening to them, the advertisers won’t pay. If the advertisers don’t pay, there is no media. The next big jump isn’t something “better” than the internet… it’s turning it all off. More technology means more control. We teach our kids this by falling victim to it ourselves.
Vote Ron Paul, and spend some time with friends and family. Stop watching TV and surfing the net for 8 hours a day. The 2012 Revolution is about more than just voting for freedom, it’s about breaking our own habits and turning our minds and hearts back to what’s important again.
Instead of reporting that Ron Paul was disappointed with his narrow loss and keeping emphasizing the point that he lost….. why don’t you actually do some reporting and tell it like it is:
What happened was that a tiny number of registered republicans turned out for a ‘straw poll’ which is indicative however has no direct bearing on the proportionality of the delegate selection process, which takes place directly afterwards. Paul supporters out-organize the rest, particularly Romney, and it is almost certain that he will win the majority of delegates in Maine……… I.E. RON PAUL MOST LIKELY WON MAINE, AFTER TYING ROMNEY IN THE STRAW POLL
You guys just keep pouring bad PR on this guy to deceive the electorate….. educate them on what the Caucas process actually is for Pete’s sake! Romney didn’t win anything apart from a poll which has no bearing on the national convention in Tampa!
Do I want Ron Paul to win? Perhaps (I have some reservations about him taking charge in the next presidential cycle, I would rather current policies completely blow up before he or Rand get the pulpit otherwise they will try to hang him out to dry for problems the establishment created)
Conversely the reason I want him to win is to shine a light on all the self-serving ignoramus’s in the media and the mass-deception they attempted to perpetrate on the American public….. either purposefully or through incompetence (and I can’t be certain about this author) however all should be held to account and in contempt of this free country – Yes Krugman I’m talking to you!
Well let’s get off of Ron Paul for a moment. The MSM has done a fine hatchet job on the most honest, most intelligent candidate in the GOP race, Ron Paul.
The MSM has also effectively destroyed Gingrich(although he is an idiot to start off with) , We know Rick Santorum has been raked over the coals and the darling of the MSM Romney was pushed as the all American, good looking successful business man. So they finally pushed him into the position of front runner….Now that he is the front runner, well the MSM has started attacking him…He has been cast as the competitor for Obama but they have already started the barrage of negative stances on policies for pro life , anti contraception…..I know he is a jackass, but why didn’t they challenge him on these issues at the onset of the debates… Because the MSM has an agenda to get Obama re-elected….
The plan is simple : Candidates like Perry, Bachmann,Cain were in the race for personal projects (books, etc). so as expected Cain dropped out , Bachmann burnt up and Rick Perry lost his mind. Huntsman was just testing the waters, he really was never interested in becoming president and he just slowly faded away.
Gingrich is basically toast as he put both his feet in his mouth with plans for his 51st state on the moon!!
So Santorum and Paul are the last thorns in the side of the MSM!! So this past weekend They rejoiced as their man, Mitt won the CPAC poll and the Maine caucuses. Now Romney seems as though he will sail to the nomination.
They have started bashing him immediately. Wait until Obama officially starts the campaign for re-election. Mitt will be gutted, dissected and fed to the MSM whores who’s sole objective is to have the Democrats stay in power.
No difference, Obama, Mitt, Gingrich or Santorum….they are all the same sell outs to the highest bidders.
Is it possible that the man from Texas, the true honest conservative. The one candidate that has stayed the course and has rarely swayed from his views and convictions, Ron Paul, may still have a chance to pull off the greatest upset of all times. Maybe I dream the impossible but why is the world’s greatest democracy controlled by the media and special interest groups and everyone accepts it as if it’s okay. Is this the American way!! What happened to America, the land of opportunity. Henry Ford said that he was making cars that every American could afford, he also said that the owner of a business should make no more than 4 or 5 times the wages of his lowest paid employee. Today on average the top execs make 475 times the salary of an average employee…Let’s see.. the average Joe makes 40k so his exec makes 19 million dollars…. what happened????
Change is needed now not in 4 years…there won’t be a country to save in 4 years!!

Do you think that Washington county is static? This swing-state county on the edge of New Brunswick, Canada has a population of approximately 33,000 as of 2010. With roughly 14,000 households, 28% with children; 10 high schools throughout the county with 19% of the population under the poverty level. Every High school graduate is a potential Ron Paul supporter.
These good people have been thrown under the bus by their GOP and they are ripe for real change from someone they can count on; and that ain’t O’Bama or Romney.

This is the third state they have stolen from Paul. Proof of this conspiracy by the GOP and “paid for” media can be found by watching the video “Ron Paul vs. honestmistake” on youtube. These are actual screenshots from news reporting that clearly shows the blatant fraud and conspiracy that is going on. No GOP candidate can defeat Obama without Paul’s supporters and because of this blatant dishonesty and mistreatment of him….the GOP can count on a big failure in November. Guaranteed. 4 more years of Obama. The media has hung itself and lost at its own game.
This article ignores the fact that we don’t know which delegates were elected in the past few caucus contests. Ron Paul’s campaign claims their people have been elected as delegates even if they didn’t win the straw polls.
As a Ron Paul supporter, I couldn’t help but notice something interesting in what you wrote. That he would continue fighting for this country. I think that is exactly the distinction that drew me to him in the first place. Instead of all the other candidates having all their special interests, I believe he will actually fight for all of us, not just a special few.
