(ThyBlackMan.com) Things got worse for GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul when his GOP presidential rival Newt Gingrich called Ron Paul on the carpet for purported racially inflammatory utterances he made in the 1990s in his officially approved newsletters, “Ron Paul’s Political Report” and “Ron Paul’s Freedom Report,” which brought in a considerable haul of cash. Ron Paul’s purported half-baked racial scribbles are by now well known. He bashed blacks as chronic welfare grifters, thugs, lousy parents, and said they are inherently racist toward whites. Ron Paul issued a terse denial that he authored or even read any of the racial slanders at the time but there is no evidence that he wrote a correction, or issued a clarification.
Ron Paul was back at it again in 2008. On his campaign website ronpaul2008.com, Ron Paul spotlighted race as “Issue: Racism.” “Government as an institution is particularly ill-suited to combat bigotry.” In short, the 1954 landmark Supreme Court’s Brown vs. Board of education school desegregation decision, the 1964 and 1968 Civil Rights Acts, the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and legions of court decisions and state laws that bar discrimination are worthless. Worse, said Ron Paul, they actually promoted bigotry by dividing Americans into race and class. None of this would have much mattered to Gingrich or much of the media if Paul hadn’t become a front runner in the Iowa Caucus.
His kind of sort of, let’s drop the subject retort to the press challenge to forcefully repudiate the past writings was the standard Ron Paul dodge. The jury then and now is still out on whether those views truly represent his feelings or not. He loudly protests that he’s not a racist now because he has to if he is to have any credibility as a serious presidential contender. But protests and dodges, don’t change the reasons for Ron Paul’s seemingly out of the pale attacks. They likely did accurately reflect Ron Paul’s thoughts about racial matters, if not in the crude wording, as he protests wasn’t his wording, but in political sentiment. That’s the operative word, “sentiment” because this sentiment can easily morph into lethal and incendiary public policy advocacy.
Ron Paul’s boast that he would not have voted for the landmark 1964 civil rights bill that’s been the law of the land for nearly six decades is a textbook case in point.
Ron Paul’s rap against the bill is just as absurd and tortured as the rap that Southern Democrats and Northern GOP conservatives who bottled the bill up for more than a year in Congress used to pretty up their opposition to it. It violated property rights. Ron Paul, nearly six decades after their efforts failed in a interview reiterated, “…I’m for property rights and for state’s rights, and therefore I’m a racist, that’s just outlandish.”
The equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment wiped away the bogus claim that property rights trumps racial discrimination a century before Ron Paul and Jim Crow maintenance proponents used this ploy to torpedo the civil rights bill. But his anti-civil rights position linked directly to the old property rights canard fits neatly into the stock libertarian argument that the best thing that government can do is stay out of the affairs of private citizens and private business. That the root of America’s woes — bloated spending, soaring deficits, congressional gridlock, crippling energy dependence, massive tax disparities, the drug plague, and even America’s wars are the result of top heavy government interference and intrusion in the lives of Americans. Ron Paul also knows that spicing up the horribly distorted Jeffersonian principle of limited government with race has broad implications for scrapping regulations on environmental and civil liberties, and consumer protections, gutting regulations to prevent corporate abuses, and of course, slashing funding or eliminating government health services, education, welfare, and labor rules and laws. He has drilled home in his talks, lectures, and innumerable GOP presidential debates. Ron Paul’s seeming anti-establishment, anti-party, maverick position plays well to the legions of frustrated, disgusted, even enraged GOP rank and filers and purported libertarians that are desperate to have an alternative to the GOP establishment anointed presidential contenders.
Ron Paul can be magnanimous and apologize for the racist rants while deftly deflecting blame to someone else and then quickly lecturing the press to get over it and talk about the “substantive” issues. But the dredge up of the newsletters gave him what he wanted. He is a near household name and a viable force in the GOP. A slash and burn assault on government, even when its race tinged, doesn’t hurt Ron Paul one bit. It gets media and public attention, draws denunciations from his defenders as hitting below the belt, and quiet cheers from the multitudes that happen to agree with Ron Paul, his racial suspect views notwithstanding. In other words, Ron Paul flunks the R (Racism) test for good reason.

Just another smear attempt by shameless fools beholden to elitist interests. The man has a 30+ public track record going back to the 70’s, with youtube videos & online stuff galore showing how he’s never once been caught saying anything derogatory against minorities. When you’re a racist, it oozes out of you and you can’t be in public life for as long as Ron Paul has and be a racist, and not have something slip up. Thanks but no thanks msm! Paul was busy delivering 4,000+ babies, on-call 24/7 while some knucklehead decided to say some dumb shit in less than 1/10th of 1% of the content ever published in Paul’s newsletter, and we’re supposed to believe he’s a racist? After he’s already disavowed what was written? Find me one clip of footage showing Ron making a racist comment and I’ll vote for Obama or Romney or whoever you’re being paid to promote.

Random Opinion, that’s where we disagree. The black man is a victim of his own choosing. The black market with reference to drugs will always exist just as it exists with any “commodity/service”. It’s just the old fashioned economic principles of supply and demand regardless of legalization.
reasonable mind,
You are correct. I had previously read a different vote.
Thank you.
Look I’m not gonna mince words here if the black community would rather have Gingrich Romney or Obama LET THEM HAVE THE STATUS QUO.Let them continue to be discriminated against and put on welfare let them continue to be locked up for trying to support their families. Were trying to change things for everyone so either shit or get off the pot.I voted for obama to make a difference but nothing has changed .Now he’s just another one of the boys on the golf course attempting to make a ten foot putt with Boehner and the other sellouts.I would suggest going back over idk Pauls last 30 years of footage fighting for black people and railing against the Just-us system .When are black people gonna WAKE UP and realize that they are being sold out by both parties??Oh and “f*¢k Al Sharpton and anyone like him You are no MLK you are no Jessie Jackson Your just another Don King WITH A PERM ”
LIL WAYNE 🙂 Lol merry Christmas Pauliticians PS did anyone see Michael Moore at occupy oakland ??he was scared to death !!
Ron Paul 2012…. End the wars… Including the drug war…. Every American of every color and race gets equal liberty and freedom… This means we all get the same justice system… No more rich man walking and poor man doing time for the same crimes… This article is a joke. Dr. Paul said he would pardon all non violent drug offenders. I don’t think a racist would use the above platforms… Keep smearing Paul so the masses can learn his true policy. Give him 80 seconds in the debates, snub him, and he turns it into victory.. spread this trash you write and we will spread the true message… Thank you for helping spread the word of the one true person who will give us all liberty and freedom… from all the wars…
As a black man I have to laugh. Ron Paul is a lousy racist. He is the only one seeking the office who doesn’t want to bomb and kill brown people. Obama and Bush have killed over a million brown people. All the others have said they want to continue to bomb and kill more brown people. In my eyes he flunks as a racist.
Even simpler:
The Black voting demograffic and collective self impossed guilt of the white race toward the plight of the black people in history is being used to further oppress you and the white folk that simpithize with your suffering.
The people smearing Paul care nothing about the black race. They care about their elitest controllers firing them if they do not push the daily talking points that are given them.

For the sake of argument lets assume for a moment that Dr. Paul is a closeted racist (which is something that I whole-heartedly disagree with). The question remains whether he will enact policies that support those supposed racist beliefs including giving preference or punishment to some groups over others, or will he enact policies which are good for people as individuals. His entire platform, and huge body of speeches and articles in the public view all point to the latter. Having not read the “racist remarks” in question I would venture to say that even the passages in question do not call for governmental action that would cause a negative effect to individual liberty and freedom in this country.
Let’s set aside the racism issue for a moment; anyone who wants to make an unbiased decision can do their own research on the subject rather than taking the words of biased propagandists (the writer) or biased supporters (myself).
Let’s instead take a moment to look at poverty in America which affects all races, but is an especially hot-button topic among black-“leaders” thanks to the many years of activism that go much deeper than Selma. Among all the candidates Ron Paul is the only one that opposes the constant low-grade inflation of the Federal Reserve. When living in poverty it is almost impossible to save money to create positive change in one’s circumstances when the most common methods of micro-savings and investment will not even keep up with inflation. Further the micro-managing of the market to ensure things always inflate and never deflate ensures that many of the positive benefits of manufacturing economies of scale and over-saturation of goods never truly benefit those on the lowest end of the economic spectrum.
Worse with 90+% of all the dollars in circulation being held by foreign investors if any other currency ever supplants the dollar as the currency of choice for oil there will be a sudden and overwhelming implosion of the dollar that cannot be stopped or adequately reacted to by any government or individual. The result will be that the poverty stricken will literally be lucky to put food on the table during rampant and incessant uncontrolled inflation. Much of the increase in the monetary supply is also used to pay for extra-budgetary items (like the incessant war of American empire). The Federal Reserve (a non-government entity) can literally create a hidden tax of every dollar by increasing the monetary supply, making other dollars worth less. Ron Paul is the only candidate who opposes these economic conditions and tools of oppression that few people even realize exist.
Again, don’t take my word for it…or that of anyone else either. Do your own research. Dig deeper and learn about the candidates and their policies, and the philosophies (most candidates won’t have any philosophy behind their position) which guide their actions. In my humble opinion you will not find another candidate who is as consistent and principled in his views and actions as Congressman Ron Paul.

Bill,
We are looking at the same source. Georgia-Gingrich voted “aye ie yes” and Texas-Paul voted “nay ie. no” to King Holiday, Peace.
@Observer. I agree about people taking control of their own actions. Once the drug war ends. After legalization. The black market dries up.The drug war was designed to control raise the price of the drugs and increase funding for CIA covert funding. Clinton, Obama, Bush Family, their all in on it. Thats pretty much common knowledge already(all over the web ducumented). The CIA controls the drugs not the Black man. The Black man is a victim of the trade. As Paul says you cannot protect people from themselves. So based on your rationale Pauls views on the the drug war are irrelevant? Tell that to the man in prison or the family missing their loved one. Also my tax dollars are beeing wasted on a war they don’t plan on and will never win.
Don’t be a chump/punk white people are using you against yourself. Don’t fall for the white noise. You fall for the smears your nothing but a bitch. “The biggest mistake a bitch can make is to think that a pimp really loves her” Iceberg. The MSM is using you.
Nelson Linder, the president of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), has known Ron Paul for 20 years, and has unequivocally dismissed charges that Paul is a racist in light of these newsletters. Linder says Paul is being smeared because he is a threat to the establishment.
http://www.independentvoter.com/2011/12/20/naacp-president-ron-paul-is-not-a-racist/
Ron Paul disavowed these newsletters and says they were not written by him. Based on his exemplary record and honesty, I believe him.
This propaganda smear against Paul is only going to help him get elected. Dr Paul is not a racist and is the only pres candidate that would not vote against gay marriage. The media is trying so hard at the orders of their masters to knock down Paul. But once someone hears and gets to understand the good Dr, they never go back. The only thing the media is doing is helping Paul get the votes of the racists that were supporting Gingrich and Bachman. So let them believe Paul is a racist.. IT WILL ONLY HELP! LOL
Brothers will only stay out of jail by changing their behavior which has nothing to do with Paul’s position. Drugs to brothers are so much bigger than the War. It’s a lifestyle that right now brothers care not give up even though they know drugs are the leading cause of the breakdown in the family and the destruction of communities across the country. Brothers are being released from jail as we speak because of the law that distinguished between crack cocaine verses powder cocaine which has been ruled unfair. Some brothers are back in the drug game peddling even more drugs in their community until they’re caught again. Legalizing drugs will never stop brothers from going to jail and Paul’s position is not drug legalization but states rights over federal legislation.
As a whole, his views are good for Black America thats what were taling about here. Pick your battles people. Obama hasn’t done anything for us. At least we know we’ll have a white man with a concience. Also the racist spot light is on him now so it would be better if he got elected. He will be scrutinized about his future decisions based on the racist rationale. He won’t fly under the radar. Think about it.

When did it become racist to say you are afraid of violent young black men (who’s murder rate is their leading cause of death)? Whites are constantly bombarded with images of violent young black men.
When did become racist for being afraid of you black men who made a fad of carjacking whites in the early
1990’s or to quote some police man about if you have to defend yourself against them? Which while inappropriate was not racist. People who carjack are animals.
When did it become racist to criticize the L.A. rioters who them selves were beating, robbing and burning out whites and Asian because of their race?
When did it become racist to quote an FBI report on MLK philandering or a study about Washington D.C.’s use of racial profiling and the unfair treatment of blacks in the courts( conviction rates as high as 90% would make them semi or entirely criminal, would it not?)
When did it become racist to comment about groups of young black who in the late 1980′, thought it was fun to stick white women with syringes, in an attempt to scare them about AIDS?
When did it become racist for saying 85% of black people do not have a good political opinion. Most whites do not either so am I a racist for saying that?
Wen did it become anti-Semitic to criticize the Moussed about the 1993 world trade center bombings, which was actually a quote from his JEWISH FRIEND.
When did it become racist to says the young black men need little provocation for violence? Recently a young rapper was murdered over candy. Also look what happened over the Micheal Jordan sneakers.
When did it become racist to say how quick young black men are? Just turn on ESPN or look who comes in first during running event at the Olympics. Whites only go to the ghetto to recruit for sports becuase they can make money.
“If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.” – Ron Paul, 1992
( REALLY just turn on ESPN it is the only time whites goo to the ghetto is to make money off them)
“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.” – Ron Paul, 1992
( He was commenting on a report about racial profiling in D.C.)
“We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.” – Ron Paul, 1992
( Have you never heard of street wise? I lived in the ghetto and this statement is true, just ask the gang bangers)
“What else do we need to know about the political establishment than that it refuses to discuss the crimes that terrify Americans on grounds that doing so is racist? Why isn’t that true of complex embezzling, which is 100 percent white and Asian?” – Ron Paul, 1992
( so how is this racist if he is defending Asians)
I lived in the ghetto and many young black men do live like animals.
The letters were harsh and did have truth to them but they are hardly racist or anti-Semitic.
Stick this one in your pipe and smoke:
This is from his so-called racist newsletter:
” Last year hundreds of Americans died
‘liberating ‘ Kuwait, and now we are getting more information about what they died for Foreign embassies in Kuwait are crowded with slaves–yes, slaves–who used wartime confusion to escape from their rich Kuwaiti masters.
The British government documented more than 1,000 cases of Filipino, Bangladeshis, and West Africans held in bondage by the ruling Kuwaiti tribe.
“Note the irony of Black Americans risking their live to return Kuwaiti slave owners to power.
Bizzaro world.
I’ve seen where Newt has said things like inner city kids didn’t have a role model with a habit of going to work on Monday, wanting them to clean schools for work, and all kinds of crazy things. Perry had the Ranch.
They all, except for Ron Paul treat all Muslims as if they are the same. Sure in 1 breathe they claim it’s not a war against Islam, but then they turn around and preach about how their religion teaches them to kill us and so on. They want to bomb the crap outta them, and publicly berate anyone who doesn’t believe the same.
They all, except for Ron Paul, support laws which are executed in large part based on race and class. Where the rich man is able to get out of the charges easily, while the poor(usually minority) spend years in prison.
You can see their hate on the subject of gay people. Which they just openly attack.
They all, except for Ron Paul, support the loss of civil rights over the past 10 years, and continuing on that policy/path.
And Ron Paul is the one who is the “racist”? Because of newsletters that he didn’t even write? After years of service doing exactly the opposite?
The man who stood up, knowing full well that some people within the GOP would get upset, for that guy who was killed a drone is a racist?
He stood up for THAT guy, you don’t think he’s the guy who is going to stand up for you?
Is the media serious? It’s no wonder 70% of Americans don’t trust the media.

This “For Black America” website is inherently racist. It comes with baggage and anything it says is written through the beergoggle lenses of race. As I always say…What would people say if there was a website that was designated as being “For (insert any color but black)America?” Yeah, people would call it racist. But not this one. Double standard. This site calling Ron Paul racist is like the Pot calling the kettle…an indiscreet color.

John,
Check your facts, Gingrich voted for King Holiday and Paul voted against it in 1983. Whether or not Paul wrote the newsletters is irrelevant because I’m sure he wrote a follow up newsletter denouncing the previous newsletters and chastising the ghost writer since Paul is the owner which makes him directly responsible for its contents.
Maybe we should compare sources? I may be looking at a different vote?

Ron Paul is the only one who in the last debate was against profiling muslims at airports. Just check it on youtube!
He ain’t a racist dumbass
The civil rights act position has nothing to do with the newsletters. The news letters were written when he was back practicing medicine, including giving discount and free care to poor women of all races. The one percent of the newsletters which were bad, which he didn’t know about until long after the fact, sound nothing like him, not now, and not then. He has youtubes going back to the 1970s and you can see for yourself.
As for the Civil Rights act, he discusses that here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBbV7mURP0I
Ron Paul really isn’t racist. The newsletters had separate editing staff, multiple editors and volunteers. Ron Paul’s ongoing business was his medical practice and he submitted an article from time to time, he wasn’t involved in the newsletter management.
Prince of Peace

war profiteers ?

It’s amazing how people get carried away with the most stupidest stuff. And we ask how this country turned to shit? The only question you need to ask is if he has ever voted for anything racist? No. There you have your miserable answer.
how disappointing to see such an article on the blackman.com. This must be one of those J.C Watson type of black man sites. Ron Paul is the only guy up there who will look out for the rights of black people. If you look at the top of the page you will see an ad for Romney or Gingrich “pick one or neither”. All I can say is tsk tsk, talk about people voting against their own best interestt. If you think those guys give a damn about the black man, wait until they start sending your sons and daughters off to the next war that their Zionist owners have planned. Looks like they’re your owners too now. Ron aul. What you see is what you get. 2012
I once worked in a lab that was cited for violating federal minority hiring codes. This was shocking to us at the time because we had one of the most racially diverse workplaces in the area(Chinese, Brazilian, El Savadorian, Japanese, Italian, Korean) and we all worked together peacefully and never even paid attention to it. It turns out the numbers of African-Americans in our office did not match the percentage of African-Americans living in the surrounding county, to which we responded so where can find a dozen unemployed African-American computational linguists? Just asking that question to the government made me feel more racist than anything else that ever occurred in that office.
How can Ron Paul be racist if he wants to end the war on drugs and pardon and release all non violent drug offenders?
There’s a ton other other reasons to vote for him, but this one alone merits his vote.
Our congress voted that Americans can be detained without trial any place in the world including the U.S. for associating or helping any terrorist group. Who do you think will get rounded up the 1%? Who is getting thrown in the slammer and their lives ruined from the drug war the 1%? Who said in the debates that it was wrong to profile Muslims- Ron Paul? The main stream media and the government insiders want you to believe he is a racist but they don’t want you to consider that the folks going to fight these endless wars are not the 1%.
You’re all insane; doesn’t matter who you support for president. The entire global social/political/economical(if you call this system that we’re living under economical – you’re stupid and insane) environment is in shambles and all most people want to do it patch it up and prop it up for more of the same re-runs of history. If there ever was a species of life that deserves to go extinct – the humans species tops them all. Linguistically bound cogs of an archaic and decrepit culture. You’ll have this entire planet turned into the garbage dump of the Milky Way in less than 2000 years – Congratulations.
Ron Paul has taken a position which opposes American aggression towards other states. Therefore he is no great friend of America’s military. Therefore he cannot be elected. Therefore he must be denigrated. Therefore his adversaries look for anything that can be used to reduce his stature. Russian news outlets have already reported that Ron Paul does not have long to live.
This is a classic “divide-and-conquer” smear campaign tactic. Get the masses to fight amongst themselves, and they will take their eye of the true enemy …(fascist, corporatist elite and their bought and paid for mass media and establishment government partners (AKA traitors).
Libertarians by definition cannot be racist, and Ron Paul is the complete opposite of a racist. I am sad to see how many of our fellow citizens are buying these tactics, and failing to see who the real racists and oppressors are. I urge every US citizen to educate themselves on the tyranny of the last Hundred years, and how Ron Paul wants to eliminate it for ALL people. Don’t buy thier lies!!
Here are Ron Paul’s true feelings on race:
“The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims.
Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence, not skin color, gender, or ethnicity. In a free market, businesses that discriminate lose customers, goodwill, and valuable employees- while rational businesses flourish by choosing the most qualified employees and selling to all willing buyers. More importantly, in a free society every citizen gains a sense of himself as an individual, rather than developing a group or victim mentality.
This leads to a sense of individual responsibility and personal pride, making skin color irrelevant. Rather than looking to government to correct what is essentially a sin of the heart, we should understand that reducing racism requires a shift from group thinking to an emphasis on individualism.”
-Ron Paul, “What Really Divides Us”, December 23, 2002
I am one of many black men that will be voting for Ron Paul.
HE DIDN’T WRITE THE RACIST NEWSLETTERS! GET IT?
“He bashed blacks as chronic welfare grifters, thugs, lousy parents, and said they are inherently racist toward whites.”
Just look at the sermons of Rev Wright, as well as the average newspaper. While uncomfortable to point it out, the above is quite true for too large a proportion of minorities. The simple unvarnished truth might be tough, but it’s not “racist”. Sorry.
Ron Paul is against brown vs board of education because he claims the president should have desegregated schools with the national guard before the decision.
This whole Ron Paul being a racist thing is a joke. He has spoken MANY times on the house floor about the injustice of government prohibition being unfairly used against black people to put them in a government cage. He wants to end this injustice, as he has said over and over and over again. Does that sound like something a racist would do? Of course not.
If he was a racist, I could never support the guy.
No, I think the people that are using this race card thing against him are afraid of other policies he might support. If thats the case, fine, just be honest about why you dont like him, instead of making up stuff.
Ron Paul voted for recognizing national MLK day, Newt Gringrich voted against it.
Obama is bombing people in africa and the middle east.
Paul wants to not bomb them and be peaceful and have free trade.
Dr. Paul was against the civil rights act because the act was not authorized by the constitution. He is for indivual freedoms, not more federal laws restricting freedom of speech.
If you take the time to listen to the man, he is the most anti-racist in the field.
http://youtu.be/vyAGIKfp81Q
Ron Paul’s position to bring home the troops is the most pro-minority of any candidate. I hope the staff of “thyblackman.com” can see this.
How many US Army commercials show a young black man or woman telling their mom that they want to do something with their life and join the Army?? How many young black men and women join the Army–with that idea in mind–only to get sent to Afghanistan to die? These commercials are as insulting as McDonald’s commercials.
I’m so tired of people calling Dr.Paul a racist when they have no proof that he is the one who wrote that news letter or that he approved those comments. On the other hand, he is against the “drug war” partially because it targets the African Americans unfairly.
Ron Paul 2012!
Ron Paul is not racist.
This is just a smear campaign by the mainstream media because their blackout of him did not work.
The ‘Establishment’ is panicking, and all are uniting to make sure the one who cannot be bought and will bring true change, never has a chance to do so.
