(ThyBlackMan.com) In a shocking new revelation, Al-Qaeda has confirmed the death of Osama bin Laden.   In a statement released on the group’s forums, the organization gave praise to bin Laden, and also threatened action against the United States and their allies.  Finally, they encouraged Pakistani citizens to “rise up and revolt,” against the enemies of the group.

Al-Qaeda leadership stated that bin Laden’s death will be a ”curse that chases the Americans and their agents, and goes after them inside and  outside their countries.”  They go on further to say, ”Soon — with help from Allah — their happiness will turn into sorrow, and their blood will be mixed with their tears,” it said.

The statement is certainly a game-changer for the “Deathers” who refused to believe President Obama’s statements about the death of bin Laden.  It also creates some degree of apprehension for Americans who were quick to celebrate the leader’s death.  One of the concerns of some experts is that the death of Osama bin Laden might open the door for swift and pervasive retaliation against the United States.

“We will not deviate from that or change until Allah judges between us and between our enemy with truth. Indeed, He is the best of all judges. Nothing will harm us after that, until we see either victory and success and conquest and empowerment, or we die trying.”

One interesting thing about the death of Osama bin Laden is that it seems to have opened, rather than helped to close, the war on terror.  On one hand, killing bin Laden certainly strikes a blow to the morale of US enemies.  At the same time, it does little to create comfort in those who are familiar with the determination of jihadists when it comes to seeking revenge on the United States.  All the while, the group has not been able to achieve another major attack since 9/11, which leads many to wonder if the original attacks were simply a fluke.

Perhaps as it pertains to the war on terror, we must keep the final objective in mind.  The goal is not to simply secure US domination of all enemies, foreign and domestic.  Instead, the goal is to obtain peace.  The problem for the United States, however, is that our foreign policy lacks neither the compassion nor the humility necessary for us to obtain the peace that we seek.  Until we take a good look at ourselves in the mirror and reduce our thirst for blood (and oil) in countries around the world, our enemies will only find more reasons to hate us, leading us to have to work that much harder for our security.

Perhaps one day, we will see the light.
