(ThyBlackMan.com) Comedian Damon Wayans has come out in support of embattled comedian Bill Cosby. Wayans says Cosby wasn’t raping the women who accuse him of various levels of sexual assault. Wayans says the women coming out of the woodwork are working a money hustle, and some of them, by their looks, are unrapeable.
I don’t even know where to begin with this foolishness. When the Bill Cosby allegations first came to light a decade ago I could see the basis for some of his support. It was one woman, with one story, and no one wanted to believe this one woman’s story as it would take down a man we all at one point slotted into the role of our father. Fast forward 10, 15 years later and there are now more than 50 women accusing Cosby of sexual assault. Their stories are all eerily similar in that they say Cosby drugged them or drank them into non-consensual oblivion. And then there’s that deposition that was finally released where Bill Cosby, in his candor, admitted to procuring Quaaludes for the sole and express purpose of having sex. Cosby never admitted to rape, and he probably never will, but by his own implication what he is allegedly accused of doing to women is not only the women’s truth, but THE truth beyond a reasonable doubt.
50 women, most of whom do not all know each other, wouldn’t all concoct a story about being raped by a comedian in an ugly sweater.
Secondly, pressing charges against a rapist is not a money hustle. This is not some trap these women are setting for Mr. Cosby to fall into. They gain nothing by publicizing their abuse decades after the statute of limitations would have run out if they had filed criminal charges in the first place. These women are not coming after Cosby for alimony, or child support, or some ridiculous settlement sum that would be suitably sufficient to buy their silence. These women aren’t making money from their victimization. These women are regaining their power that was stolen from them when Bill Cosby entitled himself to them. These women are only regaining their agency as women over themselves and their body; and to a woman that’s more valuable than any dollar figure Cosby could ever offer.
Finally, let’s address the most egregious claim Damon Wayans made in his tirade to get attention. By the looks of some of the women they are unrapeable. WTF. Not only is this statement asinine and ass backwards, it’s irrelevant and has nothing to do with the actual act of rape. My Law & Order: SVU fans no that rape is not about looks, sex, or attraction but power and control. Scientific communities continue to debate this hypothesis, but that is mostly from researchers going on the theory that rape is about sexual gratification in an effort to please defense attorneys working to get their client off on a rape charge.
Sex is an intentional act, which means rape, in all of it’s horror, by the assailant is an intentional act. When Bill Cosby allegedly sexually assaulted the women who accuse him of such, Bill Cosby intentionally forced himself upon each and every one of those women, some of them more than once, others over the course of a saddistic relationship, because he felt like he had the right to do so. Bill Cosby was then and is now a married man. He didn’t need a mistress, or jump off, though he may have had all of those extra-marital relationships, to receive sexual gratification. Bill Cosby chose to take his gratification from women who did not want to grant him the pleasure. Models, actresses, comediennes, rising TV stars, and women whose stars were stamped out before they could brighten said NO, and Bill Cosby disregarded their words and raped their semi-comatose bodies. That is the power and control of a rapist not the motivations of a man so overcome by a woman’s beauty, or personality that he just had to have her and that man got caught up in the passion of the moment.
Looks never played a role into Cosby’s actions because they don’t matter. They didn’t matter then and they don’t matter now. Bill Cosby was the HNIC for decades; telling jokes, raising TV children into responsible adults with metaphors, anecdotes, and allegory used to drive his point across with just a bit of humor. His status made him entitled and he took that entitlement to mean that he could have any woman who came into his presence; her looks be damned.
But Damon Wayans doesn’t see it that way. But then again most rape apologists won’t.

Calling me a rape apologist is an ad homonym argument because you fail to face the facts. There are no coroborrating evidence based on his statement. You twisted his words like all the extortion apologists. He didn’t say anything because it could be used against him. If one woman is telling the truth then why didnt she tell anyone until now? There are no facts, you have one little statement. So dont jump the gun and convict a man without due process. Its not fair and it could happen to you based on this precedent we are setting for society. GUILTY until proven innocent that is. Dont be a bedwench for the dominant society.
I notice that I did not make clear that my 9:42pm response (below) was in answer to jdean’s 8:34pm response to my earlier comment.
You and a few rape apologists may think Cosby is innocent, but most people were convinced when this testimony corroborated the women’s stories about being drugged:
lawyer: :”When you got the quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?”
Cosby: “Yes,”
lawyer: “Did you ever give any of these young women the quaaludes without their knowledge?”
(Cosby’s lawyer objects to him answering)
You say there are no “grounds”, but corroborating testimony is considered evidence, so you are wrong. If you really were a law student you would be aware of this. It is the reason Cosby settled with Constand in 2005, in the face of 12 Jane Doe witnesses willing to corroborate her story with no monetary motive.
Also, only 17 of the more than 50 victims have been represented by Allred and no civil lawsuits are pending because of the Statute of Limitations having expired. So another piece of your victim shaming is misconceived.
You can pick a few women out to Vicim Shame, but that still leaves dozens of victims who have nothing to gain from accusing Cosby, like Beverly Johnson, Carla Ferrigno, Michelle Hurd, Therese Serignese, Joan Tarshis, Barbara Bowman and Kristina Reuhlior, to name a few.
Accusing these victims of extortion certainly qualifies as victim blaming. If even ONE of the dozens of women is telling the truth, Cosby is guilty of rape. You seem to think shaming a few of them with groundless allegations is enough to accuse all fifty of them of extortion.
spoozb the statement”reveal that he had drugged women to have sex with them” is manipulated truth. Bill Cosby said he bought drugs for the purpose of sex. Just like a man might buy a bottle for his date or a mali for a female who gets down like that. He never admitted drugging women to rape them. Only the people who believe his guilt with no facts, will use that statement to manipulate the truth to fit your preconceived beliefs. There is no facts accept that contrived statement to lend credibility to any of these women’s accusations. Victim shaming is an emotional female or bitch made man view. Their motives are clear; based on the fact that one women had a whole MSNBC show dedicated to her where she was not convincing at all where is the criminal case?Add Gloria Allred in the mix and you have a perfect extortion case. Derrick Rose has a similar charge, see the pattern. Our women are so slave minded we will believe anything this beast tells us. Hate to be your partner or mate when something goes down we believe the media over what is logical and what makes sense. Never said it was impossible he did it, but Im victim shaming? I said there is no evidence. None. Zero. Zilcj. The latest women said “he shoved his penis in my mouth and after he ejaculated” You believe that a man can shove a penis in a women’s mouth unwillingly without it being bitten.I.E. Theresa Randle in the movie Sugar Hill . I am a law student and I agree with Judge Mathis and his view on it watch here from a judge and credible laywer with a TV show for 10 plus years https://youtu.be/3ib8IfKxt_0 but he is a victim shamer too. Huh
jdean, mayby YOU should do some research on Victim Shaming. This was the tactic Cosby’s legal team used to silence women who claimed over the years that he had drugged and raped them, insinuating they were sluts and hos. The women were finally vindicated when a judge forced his testimony from the Constand case to be unsealed to reveal that he had drugged women to have sex with them.
It may be hard for you to imagine what a woman feels like when she has been drugged; conscious enough to remember parts of what happened but not enough to fight back. The shame and guilt attached to that often keeps her from going forward, to bury her trauma and try to go on with her life. Only when these victims saw other brave women coming forward, describing similar assaults by a man who has used his wealth and influence to shield himself from justice, did they have the fortitude to come forward. Even then, they face retribution from people like you, who seek to add to their trauma by making unfair and inaccurate statements about their motives.
In any case, Cosby has destroyed his image as a family friendly public moralist, and will never be able to give another “Pound Cake” speech where he pretends to be so high above those who don’t have his resources to protect themselves from an unequal criminal justice system.
These women are making money through civil lawsuits, book and TV deals. Maybe you should do research on accusers like Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson and their credibility. Read Janice Dickinsons book and her tales of drug filled orgies. Realisticly , out of 50 women not one comes forward until now and was afraid of a black man’s power in the 60’s and 70’s. We couldn’t even look at a women i.e Emmitt Till without being lynched. So logically it doesn’t make sense. Please dont say anyone is excusing rape. We just see past the bullshit witchhunts the media has been doing on black men for ages. And the sheeple are stupid enough to fall for it.
Damon Wayans is right and you shouldn’t be so quick to throw this black man under the bus for something that he has not been convicted of or no physical evidence. As a journalist you should know about ethics and slander. Because of articles like this it perpetuates and assumes his guilt. He could be. But nothing is proved yet.
When a man comes out and calls any woman “unrapeable” it can only mean one thing. It’s a man with a very very tiny small little pencil width penis. Such men have such a severe inferiority complex that they need to cut down others to feel better about themselves.
