(BlackFitness101.com) Here are five exercises you can do right now to train your core. All you need is a floor and your body! Do this 3-5 circuits with 20 seconds of rest in between. But is exercise the only thing to do if you want a tight tummy? No! Tight abs are the result of a confluence of elements: exercise, nutrition and cardio! In future articles I will detail how all of these elements work together. For now, let’s get started with the ab fitness exercises!
Climbing Rope:
Sit with legs extended. Lean torso at forty-five degree angle. Lift arms and move them as if you were climbing a rope. Do for 30 seconds. This exercise works upper abs.
Bird Dogs
From an all fours position, extend your opposite arm and leg to its furthest extreme. Return to starting position in a controlled manner. Do 20 reps on each side. This exercise works your lower back.
Leg raise:
Lay flat face-up on the floor with palms flat. Bring both feet up to the midway point of your body and back down without your heels touching the floor. Do 12-15 reps. This exercise works the lower abs.
Trunk twist:
Stand with feet shoulder with and arms extended. Rotate trunk to each side in a controlled manner. For better results, hold a medicine ball or dumbbell. Do 20 reps. This exercise works the oblique.
Plank:
Lay face-down on a flat or decline surface. Lift your torso up off the surface while on the tips of your toes and your elbows. Hold for 25 to 30 seconds. This exercise works the entire core region.
