(ThyBlackMan.com) As if any true conservative needed more evidence, the Republican Party’s refusal to repeal Obamacare proves the party is comprised of liars, leftists and betrayers of the voters who elected them. And even more condemnable, they no longer care that we know it. But I get ahead of myself.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has been corrupt since he took his very first steps in Congress, beginning with his involvement in the “Keating Five” savings and loan scandal. To avoid criminal prosecution for his criminal misdeeds, McCain, as they say, “dropped the dime” on everyone else involved, thus avoiding the gallows himself.
McCain loves the theater that comes from being the center of attention, hence the reason he turned the Senate’s vote for the so-called “skinny repeal” amendment into a long, drawn out drama before the curtain came down ending for now the effort to repeal Obamacare.
John McCain has always been a loathsome individual, and Thursday evening we were reminded just how fortunate we were that he failed in his presidential bids of 2000 and 2008.
But enough of John McCain. Everyone but the voters in Arizona, who are responsible for handing him a lifetime career in which corruption, duplicity, lies and Shakespearian drama defined his time in office, knows he is a disgraced human being.
Let’s talk instead about the dishonesty we’ve watched play out as President Trump has done his best to keep his campaign promises.
In 2015, when there wasn’t a snowball’s chance in the desert that Obama would sign the repeal of Obamacare, the Republicans in lockstep eagerly passed a repeal bill. In 2015, Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Lisa Murkowsky, R-Alaska, were not concerned about the necessity to have a replacement bill before voting to repeal Obamacare.
Look, I don’t need to cite chapter and verse. The American public knows the Republicans have shafted us. What makes GOP dishonesty so distasteful to the American public is that we realize that the Republicans don’t care what we think or how we feel about their treachery. They don’t care that we know they lied to our faces time and again regarding their true intentions pursuant to the repeal of Obamacare.
True sociopaths aren’t ashamed of their actions, and that’s what we witness from today’s Republicans. They are pernicious sociopathic liars who will say and do whatever they deem necessary to get elected and/or re-elected. Once in office, they glibly display a giant middle finger to We the People.
The only thing that embarrasses them is losing their seats. They are impervious to any other form of shame, because they don’t care what we think – which I argue makes them true sociopaths.
Sociopaths feel no shame; they feel no remorse for their amoral deceit. They are completely void of conscience, and they will never change their behavior except to become better in their personal intentions to deceive. Like every true sociopath, Republican politicians have reached the point that they no longer even realize they are sociopaths – because what they are doing has become a way of life for them.
I saw an article that indicated McCain had come through for the Democrats. I disagree. John McCain did what any Republican not facing re-election again would have done. He just did it with more theater.
I’ve said it before and I say it again. The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Democrats are honest enough to not hide what they are.
Republicans are fighting President Trump at every turn, and they are doing so because he is as much a threat to them as he is to the Democrats. Republicans are very adept at saying whatever they believe We the People want to hear and then doing the polar opposite. They have become convinced that the American public has a short memory span and that by the time they are up for re-election they can just tell new lies or, worse yet, repackage the same lies they told before.
The Republicans are not in office to serve us as the Constitution dictates; they are in office to get rich and live “la dolce vita.” Their political careers are nothing short of the Federico Fellini movie by the same name, only it is at our expense.
I know many of you are disgusted, angry and asking yourselves if anything you can do really matters anymore. I’m telling you yes – what you do does matter. We must channel our anger and disgust, and focus it in the right direction. In the next election, we must vote the traitors out of office.
Losing an election is the only thing that matters to them. Staying in office is the only thing they care about. It is up to us to kick them where it really hurts.
