(ThyBlackMan.com) Recently on The Breakfast Club, a little known comedian named Lil Duval made a joke about killing a woman if he found out she was trans by saying “If I have sex with a woman that didn’t tell me she was trans, I’ll kill her“. That disgusting and disrespectful joke infuriated the trans community, particularly trans urban people.
I made a post on social media the other day saying these urban comedians will deliberately make jokes about killing trans urban people, but when the police shoot one of their relatives or friends, they hide behind the wall of cowardice by not having a damn thing to say about it.
The Breakfast Club is notoriously anti-same gender and anti-trans. Charlemagne also has a very notorious reputation of no-showing if he found out the show was interviewing trans people and that’s a irrefutable fact.
An example of how anti-same gender and anti-trans TBC is actually happened just recently when a trans advocate named Janet Mock appeared on the show for an interview to educate them on the real struggles that trans urban people go through daily and then after the interview, they used the autographed book Mock gave them as a comedic prop to slander and misgender her as the colonial media and the police always does.
The life expectancy of a trans urban person in this country is 35 years and over the past few years, they have been getting killed in very alarming numbers because of colonialism and state sponsored horizontal violence. Most of the trans people that have been getting killed over the past few years are trans urban people and the main catalysts behind the killings of trans urban people are colonialism and imperialism.
Also, trans urban people are constantly disrespected, slandered, and criminalized by the police and the colonial media by deliberately misgendering them just to let people know that this is what this person was before they became trans. They are also criminalized by police and the colonial media whenever a trans urban person fights back against The System that continuously oppresses them, the police go as far as to book them on very serious offenses for fighting back against The System.
Lil Duval isn’t the only one promoting and advocating for horizontal violence against trans urban people. There are a lot of neocolonial agents for imperialism in our community (pseudo-conscious and religious folks) that are out there also perpetuating those same genocidal messages towards trans urban people through their social media and YouTube pages.
Trans urban people have it extremely rough in this toxic, corrosive, and destructive colonial society as many of them willingly and unwillingly forced into turning tricks just so that they can get by because of colonialism, the big corporations are given leeway by city, state, and the national government to exclude them from getting any type of employment or benefits.
The Conclusion – We must come to an understanding that to be truly liberated as a people, we must struggle and fight hard to overturn the forces that oppressed us constantly in the forms of colonialism, capitalism, and imperialism. Violence against one group of our people is violence against our community.
