(ThyBlackMan.com) BLACK LIVES SHALL MATTER……..This is not to say that Black lives are greater than or less than any other lives. It has nothing to do with other races except for the central fact that BLACK LIVES have been the bull’s eye of every prejudicial and discriminatory practice since the making of America.
From the moment that Black feet stepped upon American soil, we–men, women and children–have been enslaved, beaten, tortured, raped, humiliated, denigrated, shot, stabbed, hung, castrated, miseducated, misinformed, misguided, misled, misunderstood, underpaid, under counted, underfed, underfunded, underrepresented and most importantly under-appreciated.
The Black Lives Matter movement was not created in a lofty spirit to imply that ALL LIVES didn’t matter or ALL LIVES weren’t relevant. We all are full aware that Red, White and Blue lives matter.
Red Lives….Native Indians have over 300 reservations where they conduct their tax free trading, plus they are doing fairly well with their lock on the gaming industry. Last I checked, they were pulling in about 30 billion dollars a year. In fact, the last time I was at the Mohegan Sun, they got me for a few dollars.
White Lives….Well, they pretty much have a strong hold on what we see, hear, feel, smell and taste. The majority of our educational, political, environmental, judicial and even penal institutions are spearheaded by the thoughts, habits and perspectives of white lives.
Blue Lives….I believe the vast majority of these first responders are good-hearted human beings who desire to make the world a safer place. However, I think that there is a small, somewhat contagious cancer that exists in this body–which adversely affects other parts of the body–if it’s not contained or extracted from said body.
And, unfortunately, for both Blue and Black Lives, this unchecked cancer is now spreading like an epidemic, plaguing the Black community while simultaneously disproportionately snatching Black Lives from Black families.
And, since all Red, White and Blue Lives are not treating this pandemic societal ill with urgency or God-speed, I’m treating it like it’s the 11th Commandment. If I see a brother/sister getting stop and frisked, I’m stopping, too. If I see a brother/sister getting pulled over. I’m pulling over, too.
In numbers, there is strength. If Blacks want Black Lives to Matter, Blacks have to COMMAND it……..evidently.
