(ThyBlackMan.com) I like Bernie Sanders. He seems to be non-calculating, and he talks common sense. The same is true of Elizabeth Warren, and I think they would make a great ticket. In fact, the perfect ticket. The only problem is, Bernie Sanders is a self-avowed Democratic Socialist, and the American people have a knee-jerk response to the word “socialist.”
.
Americans have been conditioned by capitalists to revile the word “socialism,” even democratic socialism. They associate it with despotism and closed societies. So the people simply have to be educated into a better understanding of the “isms.” They have to be educated to understand that both socialism and capitalism can be either good, or toxic if taken to extremes. And at this point, capitalism has gone way off the reservation. According to a Princeton study it has destroyed American democracy. That’s right. Princeton University has done a study that has declared that America is no longer a democracy. It is now an oligarchy, completely controlled by the rich ( http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746).
.
In addition, capitalism is responsible for the genocide of as many as 100 million Native Americans (6 generations over 100 years), slavery and Jim Crow, America’s current economic plight, and it threatens to destroy the planet by placing profits before science. Democratic socialism, on the other hand, simply means to have the common sense to give people priority over corporations, and between now and the next election the people can be educated to that fact – especially when they’re hungry and economically depressed.
.
With regard to Hillary Clinton, I don’t dislike her, but I don’t completely trust her either. She’s much too careful and calculating. She far too remote from the people, and far too much of a political animal for my taste. She gives me the impression that she’s much more interested in attaining the office of the President than she is helping the people. In short, she’s much too mechanical, and she doesn’t seem to have any real passion. Her passion seems to be manufactured. She strikes me as all ambition, and the people are merely an afterthought that she’ll make every effort to help, if it’s convenient. In addition, I haven’t forgotten that she’s a former Goldwater Republican, and I’m also very uncomfortable with her association with the Bilderberg Society. I don’t like secret societies – especially when they’re trying to control the world.

A GOOD RULE OF THUMB WHEN DEALING WITH CONSERVATIVES
.
A good rule of thumb to remember whenever you’re dealing with conservatives is, whatever ethical code a conservative politician embraces and demands of others, expect just the opposite in his or her personal conduct. They all claim to be patriots, and they all wear American flags in their lapels, yet, the Corporate-Republican Alliance is going out of its way to keep Americans jobless, miserable, and divided. In addition, they’re clamoring to send young Americans to their deaths in foreign lands so they can reap the profits of war, while at the very same time they’re falling all over one another for the opportunity to cut veteran’s benefits. Thus, in this rare moment of perfect candor, Barbara Bush betrays how she, and most other conservative elitists, really feel about the American people, and the lives of your brothers, fathers, sons, and daughters. It’s disgusting:

Example of why Democratic Socialist are Bad for America
http://observer.com/2015/07/why-did-uber-beat-bill-de-blasio/
Uber, a company that is turning on end the local government
control of transportation and giving the “oppressed, little
people” opportunity to earn money at their leisure and
provide low-cost transportation to everyone.
The local “governments” have been in bed for years
with the taxi monopolies charging high license and
regulatory fees making essentially making it difficult
to impossible for anyone to have their own taxi business.
God, entrepreneurship and capitalism is what makes the US the economic
powerhouse and the place everyone around the world are flocking
to. For now..
Alert!!: Chinese Stock Market Crashing Again…

I have read the article which confirms what I have been
stating. You attempt to “santize” the effects of
socialism by using words like free enterprise.
The tone of the article indicates that you
don’t believe in free enterprise.
If you belived in free enterprise, you would
not attempt to demean it by using the term
“tickle down”.
My parents raised me and siblings on “tickle” down.
I raised both my college educated sons on trickle
down. I have owned as many as four homes, taken
vacations, never been hungry and have a some money saved on “tickle”
down. This would not be possible in the socialist
countries. Trickle down is called a “paycheck”.
The core motivation of socialist is covetousness and jealousy.
People do well and not so well based on many factors.
Poor choices are the number one reason.
Capitalism is best alternative on the planet to allow
people to be “all” that they can be. Socialism makes
people dependent and eventually they will suck all
the golden eggs from the goose and end up like Greece.
Here is list of the top 10 socialist countries you
would be proud to live. All of them are burden
by the large “welfare” systems and high taxation.
Most of these countries have a “fraction” of the
population but extremely high debt. Collapse
is a matter of time.
http://blog.peerform.com/top-ten-most-socialist-countries-in-the-world/
Please leave this country alone..The US is the last
best hope for the world. If you believe in your
philosophy, respectfully please move to one of these places.
Here, this link should help answer your questions about socialiam, democratic socialism, and the difference between it and the European socialism model and the Socialist nations. I read your link. Please do me the courtesy of reading mine.
http://www.dsausa.org/what_is_democratic_socialism
Sorry, CD, you are so misinformed. The nations you listed in your link are of the kind of socialism that is NOT the same as I am talking about. The kind I am talking about still has a free enterprise and free market economy. The ones you linked to are government controlled economies, although China is moving toward a more democratic and free-market form.
The countries I listed are currently living what we used to refer to as the American Dream. Although they are smaller, they have a higher per-capita domestic product. Their model could be easily adapted to a nation as large as ours, and would even fare better here with the larger tax base.
Please take an economics class. Conservatism and trickle-down economics doesn’t work. That is why we are in the position we are. Trickle-down cannot work when the recipients of the trickle don’t receive it. The companies that got all those tax breaks for trickle-down took their bonuses and built factories in China and elsewhere. Those people got our trickle-down and we at the bottom are poorer now than ever. Look at China’s economy today compared to 30 years ago and tell me I’m wrong. We need wealth redistribution in America right now to fix the landslide of the past 30 years.
BERNIE 2016.

Conservatives strive to maintain the dignity and freedom of the individual and to create strong communities with minimal government
involvement.
Here is a conservative alternative to massive
government programs:
Why not everyone put aside a percentage of their
income specifically to help their family members in need?
Better, yet give “tax” incentives to do so.
To: Zerusha Millbrook
Here are list of socialist countries you didn’t list.
If these countries represent socialist success, then
you can keep it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_socialist_states
To: Zerusha Millbrook,
Here other fact, capitialism generates the taxes that make
all the social programs you listed possible…
Other than Canada, you named seven countries that have about 10 people a piece living in them. There is no way to compare them to the United States in terms of standard of living. Canada is not totally socialist and pure capitalism is not practiced anywhere, it were there would be “less” need
for social programs
And your are correct, the United States is sliding down the Socialist way like the rest of Europe with help of the current administration and its supporters.
Again, “standard of living” is the real issue. To ensure that most of the
citizens are never able to make as much money as their God given talents
and skills can provide, Socialist ensure that everyone (except the government officials) live in the same box, drive the same cars/bikes and live at the same level. It is a strange form of jealousy drives socialist and liberals.
Lastly, “conservatives” give more to the poor than socialist and liberals because of the Christian value of giving. Conservatives simply want to make sure that the hard earn taxes that are taken from it’s citizens are actually going to people who need it.
I never understood how people that are distainful and distrusting of the rich can put so much faith in another group of people that have the power to kill them if desired..I am not willing to trade my freedom for some stipends and a false sense of security…
Also, to add on to my previous comment, a lot of people do not understand that a nation can have a socialist economic model and still have a thriving free market. The US has actually be moving toward democratic socialism ever since Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Food Stamp program was started. Those are absolutely and completely socialist programs. Capitalists would immediately abolish them. Jeb Bush, for example, has already tried that when he was governor of Florida.
“Bush openly espoused a conservative “constrain the beast” philosophy toward government. He proposed to dismantle the State Department of Education and to refuse federal money for welfare. He would have forced mothers and children off welfare after 2 years, with no provision for job training or child care beyond the small amount available at the time” (source: Aggressive Conservatism in Florida, by Robert Crew, p. 6 , Dec 11, 2009).
Bush is an example of a pure capitalist. Is that what we see as the model for America’s future? Is that your vision, CD Smith? It isn’t my vision of future America.
BERNIE 2016.
CD Smith, if the USA had classic capitalism there would be no welfare, no social security, no public education, and no public services. Why? Because those cost money and don’t make money. There is a big difference between Socialism and Leninism orStalinism (which is what most people think Socialism is–it isn’t). There are plenty of successful Socialist countries: Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, Belgium, to name a few. And, guess what? They all have underwear, computers, and “commercial establishments” to buy food, too. They also have universal healthcare, economic and social services for all citizens, and better public education systems. Many even offer free (or very low cost) higher education. America needs to follow their example. Bernie will take us there. Our once well-respected position in the world is slipping fast and the “American Dream” is all but gone. BERNIE 2016. For all the right reasons.
Eric,
Do you wear underwear?
Thank Capitalism.
Did you use a computer or typewriter to create this article?
Thank Capitalism.
Did you hunt for your own food today or did you go to a “commercial” establishment to get food? Thank Capitalism
There are no successful socialist governments anywhere on the planet.
In every case, capitalism came in a saved them before they hit the brink.
Why is it that liberal love dictators and overlords?
The truth is that classic capitalism does not exist because “government” is now the “partner” of most large corporations and are manipulating the system with laws that the politicians create which is designed to ensure that people like me never have shot at being like them…
Hettie,
.
You said that Bernie Sanders don’t have “people Skills.” Well, that’s EXACTLY what most people like most about him. “People skills” implies a well honed ability to manipulate people. We don’t need that. What we need in America right now is someone who’s willing to just go from the shoulder, as we used to say back in the day, and that’s exactly what Bernie does. Bernie simply says what he thinks, while Hillary is prone to take a poll first to see what words are most popular and what words are least popular.
.
And finally, while you say Bernie doesn’t have any people skills, he’s drawing more people at his appearances than any politician in America. The reason for that is, the people feel him. Most people don’t feel Hillary. Many people only support her because she has name recognition, and they feel like “it’s her turn.” I don’t feel that way. I feel like it’s MY tern.
Don’t let his looks fool you. He may be a white Jew, but he gets the black community. He understands. He knows what we’ve been through. He’s been a voice for us all. He’s fought for us against the establishment since the 1960s. It is time for us to return the favor.
Bernie should be the ONLY CANDIDATE that the black community stands behind. He is HONEST. He has a proven track record. He always do what he say, and says what he do. Tell all your family and friends to vote for BERNIE.
Black America should stand for BERNIE 100% and not support that two-faced, drug-money backed, war-mongering Clinton. Yeah, she will take us to war again. As the first woman president, she will be anxious to go to war to prove she ain’t soft. We don’t need no more war. We’re already tired from the last 10 years of war. It’s time for peace in America. It’s time for our kids to stay home and go to college instead of getting killed in the Middle East.
Don’t trust Hillary. She just a snake in the grass. Say or do whatever to get what she wants. Bernie has never broken a promise or done something against what he said he would do. Hillary has many times. Don’t take my word for it, look up her history. We don’t need no more Clintons (or Bushes) as president. We need BERNIE. He will make jobs, he will fix health care, he will make sure the rich get taxed, he will help our kids to go to college for free, he will fix America’s problems. Americans, and especially Black Americans, will PROSPER with BERNIE.
Hettie S. Grover, Clinton is not trustworthy. She say whatever she think necessary to make a political point. She don’t stand behind what she say. She won’t do what she say she gonna do. She has flip flopped so many times. Not to mention she and Bill have made their money from drugs. Look into the Clintons and ADFA (http://1984arkansasmotheroftheyear.blogspot.com/2012/02/hillarys-deputy-campaign-manager-bob.html) You’ll see she ain’t what folks think she is. Bernie is what America needs right now. The black community in America NEEDS Bernie. He’s fought for us since the 60s and continues to fight for not only us, but all Americans.
BERNIE 2016
There is no other choice.
Jeannine,
.
If you were commenting on the article, I’m not Boyce Watkins.
I’m a proud Hillary Clinton supporter. She will be a great president. Mr. Sanders says very nice things, but he doesn’t have the experience or the people skills that Secretary Clinton has. She brings people together united toward a common goal of bettering America for all of us, not just the most fortunate.
Spot on Dr. Watkins.
Very on point. At this point, Bernie has my vote. I didn’t know about the Princeton study. That is scary.
