(ThyBlackMan.com) This morning, I had to ask myself some hard questions, which I immediately took to my friends on Facebook: Are black people, as a collective, even capable of evaluating our political options objectively? They say that the best way to waste your vote is to stay home or choose a third party candidate. Actually, the best way to waste your vote is to give unconditional support to a candidate and then not ask him to do anything.
After president President Obama laid his case out for the American people, Rev. Jesse Jackson said that he would like the Democrats to pay more attention to poverty and gun violence. But when I got to AOL Black Voices, one of the leading black online media outlets in the country, I saw a headline that says, “Malia and Sasha are seriously adorable!” Then, there is another headline next to the first one that has Michelle Obama saying to Barack, “I want to retrace our honeymoon.”
People are starving, children are dying, black people can’t find work and children suffer while their parents are incarcerated. Yet, the black middle class is living an intoxicating Negro fairytale where the only thing that matters is the color of Michelle Obama’s dress. Are we so addicted to style over substance that we have let go of the ability to engage in the act of critical thinking?
Perhaps it’s time for us to be a bit more serious about politics. This is not a reality TV show. This is not the last episode of “Basketball Wives,” nor is it the season finale of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Ladies, Barack is never going to be your husband, and those aren’t your kids. But the fact is that many other little girls who are just as adorable as Sasha and Malia, like 7-year old Heaven Sutton, are at risk of having a stray bullet fly across their neighborhood and hit them in the head while they serve lemonade on their front porch. Yes, in case you’re wondering, that is what happened to Heaven because we refuse to demand that the Democratic Party address urban violence as part of the party platform.
This doesn’t mean that an intelligent person can’t appreciate the beauty of the first family or comment on the style and grace with which first lady Michelle Obama carries herself. But the reason that neither the Obamas nor the rest of the Democratic Party take African Americans seriously is because we’ve relegated ourselves to being cheerleaders instead of a legitimate political constituency. We no longer have objective black journalists who critically assess the policies of the administration, and are instead flooded with a pack of highly-educated groupies who are hoping to get a picture with the president when he comes to town.
While we sit back and fantasize, people are dying. While we comment on how fabulous Michelle Obama looked as she gave her speech, there is some little girl out there crying because her daddy got 10 life sentences for selling drugs. As we talk about how cute Sasha and Malia look in the crowd, there is a little boy being murdered by bullies on his way home from school.
Perhaps it’s time for us to grow up and speak up. Until we do, we’ll never be respected, even by the Obamas themselves.
Thanks for that post john!!!!

Thanks for the props John, and its true there has been a whole GENERATION OF BLACK PEOPLE deleted from American society, while we continue to welcome undocumented immigrants that should not be here in the first place. The powers that be sought to destruct and eviscerate the black community through entertainment, drugs, and most important on their sick agenda was the destruction of the black family.
On record pathetic and psychopaths like Margaret Sanger openly bragged with in their circles how they would infiltrate the black community under the guise of liberalism, and progressive politics. She was quoted as referring to black children to the “black weeds” that needed to be taken out. Her plan was to use money, and influence to use the few black leaders that unknowingly became a part of a diabolical movement.
I could go on, but the brainwashing has gone on for so long that I was brought before school administration for “making outlandish, hateful, and dis honest remarks about leaders in healthcare.” I challenge school professors all the time about many of our so called leaders in history. This particular professor was extremely upset that I challenged her In front of the class, and used many of my papers as proof of my hateful and extremist ideology only to be proved right once my sources checked out.
Bill Gates who is a member of the Bilderberg group, whose father was the head of family planning, and who advocates for abortion rights and eugenics have spoken openly about population control , along with the current administration’s science czar John Holdren want to implement forced sterilization with the use of vaccines, and putting various chemicals in our food and water supplies, Mr. Holdren goes on in depth in his book “Eco science” about forced abortions and how humanity is the enemy of the earth. My reply to such individuals is if you truly feel that way, then by all means go kill yourself, and stop murdering children.
In conclusion, many people lack the energy and fortitude to truly research the “Global agenda” that has been talked about since the 70’s with such groups as the “Club of Rome” who advocated the development of pandemics to curb human population. Most Americans find it hard to believe that such people in government and so called heroes of our society would support and believe in such “hitlerian ideology” but they do.
I do not support, nor do I believe in a coming race war, but I do believe there will be a revolution of sorts that will take place in our country. The country is a tinder box , and once everyone is aware of the sick joke being played all bets will be off, and there will be a rage against the machine.
I welcome anyone to check out Pastor Childress as he discusses “the negro project” abortion and the black community. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAw9jgHtBFM
Hassan Aziz,
Your comment is definitely accurate. Abortion is the number 1 killer in Black America!
There are black people who speak up, our race is NOT monothilic. Are white people not respected as a race because not all of them speak up for their serial killers, mass murderers, and rapist?
This article is condescending and insulting to the Black American ethnic group. We are allowed to be individual just like any other race. We have some people who are activists, some people who are superficial because they can afford to be and so on and so forth.
I have worked hard to provide better for my family and I have given back to my community which is 98% black, I can not control the actions of others. I’ve done my part to contribute to the success of my race so if I want to comment on Michelle’s dress you dog on skippy I will, did white women feel bad for commenting on Jackie Kennedy’s outfits? Doubt it, and guess what? They’re STILL respected.
The only thing I can add to Dr. Watkins’ brilliant commentary is a resounding AMEN!!!
We have drunk the kool-aid.

my thoughts and prayers will be with the 1500 unborn black children killed while in their mother’s womb today.
Spot on!
