(ThyBlackMan.com) Tim Tebow is really annoying to certain people in a Sarah Palin sort of way. Whenever Tim or Sarah shows up, an uncomfortable feeling accompanies him or her, and it’s called conviction. One definition for “convict” is “to impress with a sense of guilt.” That is precisely what Tim Tebow and Sarah Palin are guilty of: impressing shame and remorse upon America that it would prefer to avoid.
The Palin family has been mocked and derided for many reasons, including baby boy Trig, born with Down Syndrome. This past spring, after former Gov. Palin posted a birthday tribute to her son, former Wonkette writer Jack Stuef called Trig a “magic intellectually disabled baby prop.” Stuef questioned “Trig’s parentage, implying he was conceived in incest, and used the R word.” Stuef has since apologized and said he regretted using the word “retarded,” but he stands by his criticism of Palin.
By approving of and promoting policies that destroy innocent human life, the left is hateful enough. However, when a conservative public figure “chooses” life, what emanates from hate-spewing liberals amounts to a new level of vitriol.
That rage is evidenced by liberal reactions to Sarah Palin, who celebrates the life of a child whom some liberals would deem a disposable burden on society. Palin said it so well in a 2011 Thanksgiving tribute to Trig when she shared:
Through Trig, I see firsthand that there is man’s standard of perfection, and then there is God’s. Man’s standard is flawed, temporary, and shallow. God’s standard lasts an eternity. At the end of the day, His is what matters.
And what about that pesky Tim Tebow? In 1987, Tim’s mother Pam chose to grant her son the gift of life. Pregnant and suffering from a life-threatening infection, Pam Tebow, a missionary with her husband Robert to the Philippines, was told that her and Robert’s child would be stillborn. Rather than take the advice of her doctor and abort, Pam Tebow chose to trust God.

Did OneLibMom really call Sarah Palin a “no-nothing?”
You misspelled a four letter word, you illiterate twit! (K-n-o-w!) Furthermore you did it while insulting someone else’s intelligence. Who is it exactly that didn’t outgrow the high school mean girl syndrome?
Imbecil.
Sarah Palin’s background is that of a common person who has worked hard and now enjoy’s the fruits of her labor!
Sally dear, abortion and execution are so different as to not even belong in the same conversation.
1 =’s the killing of someone that is innocent. The other =’s the killing of someone after that have killed someone innocent. The math doesn’t add up.
As to the general article I agree with the poster below me.
Tim Tebow and Sarah Palin are not alike. Sarah is a political opportunist extorting sex and religion for gain. The other is an athlete who busts his but to be good, and happens to be ok with sharing his faith.
This is ridiculous. Sarah Palin is a hypocritcal no-nothing low life who lives to be in front of the camera. I am that very rare, liberal thinker who is also a devout Christian. I admire Tim Tebow because he is very sincere in his beliefs and he lives it in his lifestyle. His beliefs are a little over the top for me, but he is nothing like the idiot Palin. Tebow is an incredibly hard worker and team leader who respects others even if they don’t live or believe his lifestyle. Palin is a sarcastic snot who seems to have never outgrown her high school mean girl syndrome and she’s so egocentric she didn’t bother to prepare to be on the national stage so she could use the victim card.
I am really sick of being called names because I support choice and not the government or someone’s church telling anyone what they have to do. I would never have an abortion, but I certainly do not think I am God and entitled to tell the rest of the country what to believe, let alone a woman in trouble. Tim Tebow’s mother was very fortunate that she and the baby did not both die. If Sarah Palin is Trig’s birth mother, and IF she made that idiotic flight from Texas back to Alaska, bypassing numerous hospitals with NIC units while leaking fluid, SHE is very fortunate that the baby was born at all.
By the way, since the right is so hyped up over the right to be born, what about a person’s rights after birth? How can you be against contraception and abortion, but support the death penalty, people dying over insurance claims, the US killing countless people overseas in the name of ‘security,’ and refusing food stamps and school lunches to children? Either you are for life, all life created by God, or you are against all of it. I say the right has latched onto abortion as their dog whistle, hoping the media will ignore their complete absence of morality in the other areas. And frankly, a woman who denigrates her political opponents (in Wasilla, questioning a man’s faith, and on the national scene, a man’s patriotism to the extent that her hate rallies yelled ‘kill him!’) is no Christian anyway…I don’t care how many children she claims to have (and none yet with a high school diploma) or how many times she talks to God.
Steve Jones, I see your same comment everywhere on the internet. You come across as dumb as rocks. Sarah Palin announced she wasn’t running hours before Steve Jobs death was announced, so unless Sarah has direct communication with her and Steve Jobs creator, she would have no clue as to the timing of his death. Besides Steve Jobs life was important to the National media, not necessarily the Palin World, and if Pee Wee Herman past away, he would have gotten more air play than Sarah Palin deciding not to run.
Dennis Brower you have got it right. The story of Tim Tebow and Sarah Palin are stories of self-reliance whose talents were immense on their respective local stages, but due to the way they conduct their lives by expressing ones love for their creator on the Secular, largest of stages, they are ridiculed as being simpletons, or even worse that the author of this article put so boldly “to impress with a sense of guilt.” What Tim and Sarah are doing is giving thanks, trying to understand why they were chosen with these immense gifts, that go beyond their chosen fields to make a living.
Truth be told, this media has been so unwelcome of those that express their faith in public, that those who had much to offer the public discourse chose not to, do having themselves and loved ones face scorn, that a hunger for this role in our National civil society, has thrust Tim and Sarah onto the highest of stages that perhaps they have yet to prove they belong. So it is easy to damn them, because there are others that do their ‘Chosen Profession” better, but it is just as easy to admire the fact that they earned the positions they have attained. No different than the charismatic President we elected in 2008. Obama by sheer being in the right place at the right time in history is the leader of the free world, but clearly others are more capable.
Great read! This is the second article I’ve seen (the other in Canada) making this comparison. It’s spot on! Thanks so much for highlighting the obvious. Let’s pray our nation can get back on track through the fine example of two people willing to stand up for what they believe.
Big brother is controlling the media and has 90% of the comments on all media sites creating the perception of public opinion.
Our next election could be as big of a sham as the last. Do you know why Sarah Palin’s bus tour was really canceled? Know what leaked out? Do you know why she stayed 30 miles away from the second debate and chose the death of Steve Jobs to announce that she’s not running? She’s dodging the media now because of this
