This tribute to Fannie Lou Hamer, undaunted speaker of truth and courageous questioner of the evil motives of America’s heart of hypocrisy is a glorious summation of all the gripping tendrils of this truth, witnessed by “history and heaven.” I must leave an abusive marriage, which the christianity of capitolism forbids me to — but this praise of Fannie Lou reminds me I must not “will to lie as a way of life.”
