One of my greatest regrets is never seeing Bobby Womack live. In the 80's and 90's he would come to Miami to a small club not too far from where I lived. I would hear the advertisement on the local radio station and would think, "I should go see him!" Finally in my 20's in 1992 or 1993, I made plans to go with my boyfriend. He called to say he couldn't make it at the last minute, he was my ride, so I never made it to the show. Eventually the advertisements stopped, I never thought that Bobby Womack would stop touring. I can't listen to his music without thinking of a lost opportunity. Bobby Womack has been a part of the "soundtrack" of my life, the good, bad, and ugly. I thank you for this wonderful article, I plan to send it to my Mom, we listened to "Facts of Life" so much you would have thought that our lives depended on it.
