I appreciate your call for common humanity. I’m sorry you have lost friends during this difficult political time. I would imagine people are afraid. I, for one, have never turned away from anyone due to race, even though I have been rejected due to the color of my skin. I think all we can do is live in accordance to our values. Continue to love people and show kindness and respect. No matter what happens around me, or to me, I will always show love no matter how difficult it feels. I will show love in the face of slurs, I will show kindness in the face of threats, I will show forgiveness to those treat me poorly because of false beliefs.

In other words, I am not interested in turning away from anyone and it makes me happy that you do not want to turn away either.
