I was drawn to the article by Dr. James Thomas Jones III regarding the '...The truth of Black Men in America" out of curiosity and hopefully more insight. The curiosity was driven because my husband has a non-profit fatherhood program for all ethnicities but he intentionally seeks out 'invisible' Black men who need support and resources in the area of support for their children and the mother of their children; thereby bettering the family unit and community...it is a daunting act, but it is my husband's passion and his ministry.

Dr. Jones III's article began as providing insight; however, as a Black woman, I did not think it was necessary to 'go low' in attacking Black women. Although the writer indicated "a bitter segment", I believe that we should not stop the discussion/division of 'painting one person with the same brush' regarding how they think or what they believe. We as Black people have had this done to us since and before slavery and we do it ourselves. Dr. Jones had a wonderful opportunity to 'go high' but I feel, ended his article on a very low point....but it is his article and viewpoint. However, what about adding/addressing how systemic and structural racism, etc., still affects Black men and women today?
