Controlling the general populace’s ability to keep and bear arms has been priority one for the ruling elites throughout human history.

A population composed of individuals who do not have the choice to defend themselves is a population that can be controlled,

“Public Safety” or “Good of All” are phrases that authoritarians have used throughout history to justify their power over the masses.

The USA is an experiment in the idea of equality, individual freedom, and responsibility for oneself – to make ones’ own choices instead of following the edicts of the “ruling class”.

“Gun Control” is an attempt to end the experiment of the USA.

It is saddening, and frightening, to see that the future generations of Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that everything the founders of the country believed in was wrong.

The USA has never been perfect, but not because of the ideals or ideas it was founded upon, but because no system is perfect. But the BOR is designed to prevent people from taking over the system and removing the recognition of the individual right to self-determination. That is why the BOR is so important. That is why 2A is so important.

The rest of the world, where there is no recognition of the individual right to self-determination, where people do not belong to themselves but to the “state”- to the “public good” – is waiting for this experiment to fail.

Once the BOR has been diluted or worse, revamped, for the “public good”, the American Experiment will be over, and the traditional way of thinking – that the individual is owned by the “state”, will be the only way the world knows.

For some the Truth hurts!

Banning something has never worked. If it did, we wouldn’t have the drug problem in this country that we have. The War on Drugs did absolutely nothing to stop the use and production of them or the importation of them from Mexico and South America.

The same thing would still happen if guns were somehow banned. They would flow over our southern borders, gangs and criminals would be assaulting and taking down Law Enforcement to steal their weapons and the weapons kept in their vehicles, people with 3D printers would be making them and the list goes on. I worked in Law Enforcement for over 25 years and the criminals always find a way to get what they want regardless of the blocks you put in front of them.

This comment was written as a response to “steve zinger” and not a general response to the written article. He wrote about other countries being more civilized and why can’t be be like them and just get rid of guns.

Each of those countries you reference has its own weird rules, and has no high moral ground to point fingers, as you attempt to. It has been said if the numbers of crimes of the 5 most violent cities in the USA were subtracted from the totals, those cities plagued by gangs, run by anti-gunners like yourself, and having many anti-gun rules in place, that the crime numbers, and rates, of the USA would be at or better than those of Japan. By CDC statistics, over 98% of the time, gun use in the USA has been for safety and protection, not crime. And any rules that you, or any other “high thinker” that thinks they can invent to solve the problem of evil in the heart of some disturbed people by more rules, would have the same success as the multitude of laws already in place that those same evil people ignore.
I tire of the arrogance of those such as you, who think you can just throw down some words on paper and solve the problems of insane people, and with it the assumption that those who disagree with you are simpletons that can’t see your simple solution. It is really not a solution at all.
Our constitution and government is a wonder, and amazing, and would have prevented some of the great mistakes that the countries you listed have committed, and are still committing, if they had such a document in place. We have a problem with disturbed people, who would choose to kill others for no reason, knowing that they will die in the process. Who would do that unless they were crazy? Yet our society is in distress now, resulting in some who would choose to die for imagined causes, racial supposed woes, transgender supposed injustices, etc. Wanna make that illegal too? Going after guns is not the answer.

We do not understand our Constitution, our Founding First Principles and/or our liberties and corresponding responsibilities. This is again a failure of our educational system, that is infected with leftists at all levels.

Our nation and its freedoms are but one generation away from being lost. Teach your children well what it means to be an American citizen. Vote as if your life depends upon it, because it does.
