I have heard black women on buses and trains discuss how to get around the job regulation for assistance. Laughing and sharing names of clinics and doctors who will give them “a letter” that means they are unable to work. One said, “Girl they can’t make you get a job!!” and then give her all the info. I am a black person and know this is part of a ghetto mentality just like the “snitches get stitches”…another part of keeping the black community with the highest crime and murder rate. It is disgraceful and an embarrassment to see and hear these comments. It is the reason there is little respect for a community that has so little respect for itself.

If one qualifies why should one be judged?
Is someone that our society has decided needs help with a few hundred dollars a month to eat really any different than someone who gets thousands of dollars a year in various tax breaks to buy an house?
Should we look at those who live in much nicer houses then we do any differently because they are getting much more government help via tax deductions to buy that swell house (much nicer than mine; but I have almost an acre and their yards are too small to have side windows ;-)?
If we go by dollar amounts, a few hundred to eat on is certainly not as bad as thousands for a big house but personally it does not matter to me on either case.
