You are incorrect in making an assumption that God never intended His creation to know the difference between good and evil. Man was always destined to have a choice but to choose life. If there was only good, there would be no available choice. Adam in the garden had to choose to do right. Eve had to choose to listen to the serpent and then take that back to her husband or not. The fact that God did not destroy Satan shows that God wanted us to have a choice between good and evil. Read the Scriptures further and you will see in the Bible that God says he created evil. Again, for us to have a choice.

Biblically speaking, you are correct and thank you for the article. I would only add two things. First, faith without works is dead. So sometimes the connection to the blessing is the works we do, not just waiting on God. He stays ready so it’s more likely that He is waiting on us.

Secondly, we are told to pray without ceasing. And that seems like it would be an impossible task until we realize that the Holy Spirit in us is praying to the Father because we don’t know how to pray as we should. So on that basis, we are always connected because the Holy Spirit is always doing his job. That is also what the Bible teaches.

Christ pray, yes. But the power of the gospel is in walking it out and living it out. That becomes also part of our warfare and a key tool of our arsenal. So prayer is never enough, hence we were told to do other things as well.

God never intended for His creation to know the difference between good and evil (Genesis 2:17) and preferred that creation would choose to obey Him. As God’s creation, a man received the ability to select, and with each choice, a positive or negative consequence occurred (Deuteronomy 30:15-20). God has set boundaries for creation without manipulating those He created. To think that God’s foreknowledge supersedes His desire for His creation to love Him is to overlook the divine conclusion. The only way to demonstrate love for God is to obey Him (John 14:15)! God created all people; however, everyone is NOT God’s child (Galatians 4:5-7) because…God allows His creation to choose (John 1:12). Choose wisely!!

Rabbi Heschel said, “When we pray, don’t pray to get things, pray to be worthy to get things.” “When you ask, you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. Don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” (James 4:2-4) “What people value highly is detestable/an abomination in God’s sight.” (Luke 16:15) “Be in the world but not of the world.” (John 15:19, 17:14-16) The religious sect that comes closest to this ideal may be the Amish in America. Conservative and controversial Pastor of Grace Community Church, John MacArthur, Jr., who takes biblical scripture literally, says that if a church teaches a gospel which is not offensive to worldly human values its message isn’t true, and it is not Christianity.
