In reply to Steve Hamburg. White folks don't care what color people are? That white guy that drove to Buffalo and to deliberately murder Black people didn't care they were Black? Whites spent 75% of this country's history implementing, enforcing and benefitting from laws based on color. When did they STOP caring about color?

In reply to Lawrence Garnes. The article has to be one of the most ignorant pieces of writing I've read. As you stated, he ignored the deliberate and legal discrimination that happened AFTER slavery, and only ended about 55 years ago. And then, he totally contradicts himself. First he claims poverty and crime has nothing to do with slavery, but then admits behavior doesn't happen in a vacuum. I'm totally confused.

Thank you. I thought this article to be very well presented and speaks to the truth of the matter. The past was real, and horrible, and should not be forgotten, nor will it ever be. As a white man who was married to a black woman for 27 years until her passing from cancer, and knowing she would have agreed with it 99%, no one ever got a 100% :), and as a father of three now adult children with her, this subject has been discussed, but only because it’s drug up into the news so often. And when amongst family it was mostly with her family. Not too much with mine because believe it or not, white folks really do not care what color you are. Today in these 2020’s am I, a white man, being racially profiled here in America? Yes, obviously I am, and it has been noticeably increasing for the last thirty-forty years. Should I allow that to affect my journey through life? No. It still hurts and offends. I’m human as is everyone, but how it affects me, is up to Me. If you’re allowing it to dictate your life? That’s a You problem.

Sir I read your article on slavery, and again you missed the mark, The problems in black America did not begin with slavery, it started with the legal discrimination of the black man. A person who was formally a slave, by law could not provide for himself. We were denied education to learn how to provide for ourselves we were systematically shut out of everything that would have given us the opportunity to compete. But you left that part out. You leave the impression that after slavery we were welcomed with open arms, and jobs and economic opportunities were opened to us. . It’s not that simple, and it has never been that simple. If you want to examine the state of black America let’s examine the intentional harm and the effort by the United States Government to keep former slaves, slaves.

You guys really have to do better than this. You COULD have referenced the 1968 Kerner commission report, but you didn’t..and it IS relevant. Another article this website carried was also full of inaccuracies..and easily fact checked. I’m getting the impression that this website isn’t about what it seems to be claiming at all.
