This is an eye-opening article. I’m not sure what Jassen Grant is talking about because like K. Gray said, “the writer seemed to clearly be referring to areas where black people are major stakeholders and where blacks can make an immediate difference in the world.” Unless someone is a hit dog of a pastor, deacon, or other pretentious thinking holy roller who is defensive over being called out for what they and their church have failed to accomplish for their community, then no reader should be irritated by anyone shedding light on a topic that all too many of us already know is true. Keep speaking the truth, Brother Pegram. I love your views!

In reply to Jassen Grant. The writer referenced the areas where Blacks are "major stakeholders". I believe he was focusing his attention on where Blacks can make an immediate difference due to current "stakeholder" status. Then, move forward.

Article seems to read like a one-sided church bashing opportunity. Nothing in regard to the culture, music etc. that affects the minds our people in a negative fashion, no other religions mention or are we scared of the Muslims also? Approximately $100 million for Black Lives Matter but no one can name any program of significance that is ongoing for the betterment of our people, but that organization has not been mentioned. Politicians who have the power and purse have done nothing for our communities and for the record ministers and the church have had a deep impact in changing our culture and way of life. Harriet Tubman was a minister of the Gospel led slaves to freedom through the Underground Railroad, Lincoln University in Pennsylvania was established by Rev. John Miller Dickey of the Presbyterian Church in 1854 and Wilberforce University in Ohio was founded by Bishop Daniel Payne of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1856. Rev Hiram Revels was the first President of Alcorn State University. The church’s impact on our culture is directly related to some of the greatest minds and influencers of our time. This is why people have trust issues with media. Hoping the writer will do their research next time present BALANCED information and not subjective opinion, I pulled this information off the internet in 10 minutes….
