I’m not try to be to harsh but Juneteenth as a National Holiday is a poor offering to the black American community from the Democratic party, mainly democrats, as a cheat prize and deflection from the serious issues we have. The Democrats have ignored virtually every important matter black Americans faced for over the last 50 years. While they have enthusiastically catered to other groups. We get this Holiday and National Hip Hop Day while Foreigners get DACA. Asians get an anti Asian Violence bill in record time and financial assistance. While black America gets a pat on the head for being loyal simple minded supporters of the party. smdh.

Juneteenth was a day when the freed slave was caused to reflect seriously upon the U.S. Constitutional definitions of freedom which included a definition of independence.The U.S. Constitution is a legal document that binds all Americans to a kind of independence, which,due to the negative effects of white supremacy, and white privilege, African Americans have yet to achieve. Let’s reflect upon this time and place ( i.e. today )when two major political parties ( i.e. Republican and Democratic ) now wrestle with choosing the independence which exists within a white supremacy, white privilege U.S. Constitution, and a white supremacy, white privilege nihilistic autocracy. Independence remains a political ideal yet to be achieved for African Americans. Another Civil War is possible. African Americans should prepare for that Civil War, as choosing the power of sophisticate technology, and political leaders becomes all the more important.
