The legal issues surrounding contemporary “Critical Race Theory ” are only political issues because CRT threatens the continued existence of the mental concepts of white supremacy, and white privilege,which are both institutionalized, and legally codified in Anglo-American jurisprudence. Why else would there be a 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution ? Most teaching that take place in America is done so to create a pragmatically orientated, capitalist citizen who has bought into the high, yet to be achieved ideals, put forth by whites.Both blacks and whites believe in a pluralistic democracy with a capitalist economic base which also believes in an unequal distribution of available goods and services based on merit.Only those high ideals that support the continuation of white supremacy and white privilege are acceptable to a white,and black voting majority. The mental constructs of white supremacy, and white privilege are mentally, and legally flexible enough to allow so-called minorities to exist in America, but there is an unwritten understanding among both black and white that blacks were never meant to elevate into first class citizens.All of this discussion about CRT is taking place within the legal universe of white supremacy, and white privilege.When it comes to teaching CRT, it is CRT, and black folk lifestyles in America which snatches away the blinders of Western World colonial high idealism,yet to be achieved, thereby exposing the true teaching, and learning of black folk attempting to live American life.CRT corrects faulty thought, and subsequent faulty actions maintained by whites, and blacks for centuries.Teaching CRT will help to eliminate the” hurtful,disabling duality of persona “( one face for the white man, and yet another for the black man ) exhibited by many white, and black citizens of the Unites States of America.
