I was following your article until you got to the point where you discuss "safe spaces". You have asserted that the thoughts expressed by Mr. Jackson are OK and even common and the only thing he has done wrong was to voice these thoughts into "mixed company". You make it abundantly clear that other black people have abandoned him simply because of this error.

Your words are themselves tone deaf and part of the problem in this country. If the same statement were made about the thoughts of white supremacy, that those who hold these beliefs are only wrong if they express them in "mixed company", you would be labeled a racist and the avalanche of social justice would descend upon you.

You clearly don't even attempt to condemn his actual words, just his foolishness in where he chose to use them and his inability to recognize his error in this regard. Omission is itself a powerful statement. As enlightened as you claim to be on the topic of foolishness, I doubt it was one you didn't carefully consider yourself.

In order to affect true change on the race issues in America, it is these very "safe spaces" we must invade and begin destroying this hate ideology. Until there is no "safe space" left for these thoughts, hate on one side breeds hate on the other. The problem can only be solved together and articles like this are part of the problem.

As you close your article, you choose to elevate yourself to that of a teacher, to impart a lesson upon Mr. Jackson about power. You don't deserve the mantle of teacher, you hold no wisdom worth regard when this is the article you choose to publish.
