Did black begin on the slave plantations in early America? Did black begin during, and after the Civil War? Did black begin during the Jim Crow era? Did black begin during the Civil Rights era ? My readings of the writings of Dr. M.L. King, Jr. were messages of inclusiveness not declarations that we split into any other culture than American. I do not support the development of a black culture within the existing American culture. A black culture existing in America would be merely a myth. We are all Americans. Some of us are Americans that are coincidentally black.
