We therefore have a U.S. Constitution that allows social programs that benefit the poor, sick, the very young, and the very old.If America didn’t have social programs to benefit these groups of people it would be nothing more than a puppet government for the rich who would dictate policies that are purely beneficial to themselves. The pendulum of wealth distribution would swing extremely to the right back into a middle class catering to the rich and a large divide between the rich, middle, and lower classes.There would be great poverty and crime.Our form of government isn’t perfect. It tends to reward the wealthy too much and ignores the poor, the aged, and the very young.There have been social experts that have practiced a critical philosophy on our form of government and have identified its weaknesses and have concluded that our government doesn’t offer an adequate distribution of available goods and services to all of its citizens. Social programs have been developed out of political recognition of this weakness.
